Great for young children. There was a really good soft play, crazy golf and various arcade‐type attractions. My boy loved the "land of the dinosaurs"! Unfortunately, we didn't have time to watch the 4D film. We could have easily spent 5 hours there. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely go again.

My son and I had a nice time visiting Wookey Hole Caves. Great experience. However keep in mind that the queue to get is quite long. We waited for up to an hour to get in and we had bought tickets online. Also if you visit you should keep in mind that that there are no toilets in the cave and considering that you will be in a long queue and then in the cave for some time this can be especially difficult for young children and others. Ensure that you are flexible enough to bend down low as well as walking at the same time as some parts of the cave are low. You cannot take pushchairs inside and although I did see people in wheelchairs in the queue to get in I don't see it being at all possible to go in there with a wheelchair as there are quite a few stairs and low areas. I recommend trainers and warm raincoat as the ceiling can drip and as it is 11 degrees inside which can be nice on warmer days. Take some 20p coins for the machines after the cave experience. Do not throw money into the cave though. Kids might enjoy taking a small torch or glow stick and magnifying 🔎 to look at the rock. They do sell glow sticks before going in for £2. You also may benefit from wearing a helmet. Even after warning my 9 year old, he did almost immediately bang his head in the cave. There is somewhere before entering which sells crisps, chocolates and ice cream but you would benefit from having a meal elsewhere before going in or taking your own healthier snacks.

The parking is free here, you get your ticket and start a nice walk up the hill. As you enter the cave, you step into another world. The whole cave is amazing, the staff is very helpful with information. Downside for me personally was the shop is way too expensive and the cave is way too child centered with all those plastic statues around. Although the experience is great and informative about cave diving and exploration. Loved the walks in and out.

Kids or no kids, if you're still a child at heart this place is a great visit rain or shine. The caves have amazing tour guides, lots to see and do outside of the caves the caves are fantastic and if you're a bit of a road-lover the Cheddar Gorge is right near by for some nice scenic bendy road driving too. Well worth the whistle stop tour visit I took here, will come again and spend more time here on my next visit!

We spent our Saturday here with my husband and we had an amazing time. At our surprise it was decorated for Halloween which made us happy. We started the visit with a tour of the caves with a guide. She was very nice and funny. The tour was amazing and the caves impressive. I was a bit scared that it would be different to walk around but it was quite easy. There wasn’t much steps! Then we visited the park with the dinosaurs, the 4D theatre, the show and the Victorian arcade. It’s a very nice place and very well themed too. We had a great time! We brought a picnic with us and there was few area with picnic tables. Unfortunately we didn’t have the opportunity to try the gold which was included in the tickets. There was to many people!

What an awful experience. Chaos doesn't cover it. We did not enjoy our visit today. Despite booking in to a set 15 minute slot we still had a 25 wait to get to the ticket booth. After this, we made our way to the cave to find another queue, this time for 35 minutes. It was a taste of things to come, but to have waited an hour at the very start was not a great experience. The witch's laboratory ran every 30 minutes, and again large queues ensured that you could wait an hour for this. We skipped it as the kids were already restless from the earlier queues. We spent some additional money on old pennies to play in the old arcade but about a third of the machines either did not work - ie they took your money but didn't work, or did work and when you won didn't pay out. The main restaurant was a chaotic mess. Sign posting was quite rubbish. We found ourselves following a sign that pointed clearly to a door that was actually exit only. On finding the correct entry we found no clear signs to the seating area. There are instructions to find a table, then order your food at the bar, and then take a seat at your table. There were no menus on tables. We went to the ordering area, essentially a bar and found a poster about an offer for chicken burger, plus a large screen TV that ran a series of images, one of which had some menu items. We looked around but couldn't immediately find a menu, and when a member of staff was available we were shown a pile of them on the bar. The food menu is extremely limited. An adult meal of sausage beans and chips was £10.50. It was ridiculously over priced. The chips and beans were fine, the sausages were gross. The meal might have been worth about £6-7. The kids meal of chicken nuggets was good value and the nuggets were very tasty. Overall a bad experience. I know it is half term but they are clearly planning for these numbers of guests by operating a strict booking process, but there were too few staff, and the site definitely needed additional places to buy refreshments. Far too many people were on site and this was shown by the huge queues. I will not be interested in returning. Large car park and overflow car parks.

Wookey Hole Caves was very enjoyable and very quiet for a Saturday out of season. We had the luck of having a return trip for free as one of the attractions was closed - so will use this for a warmer day as it was very cold the day we visited. The pricing was fair for what you can see and do here. Prams are not allowed in the caves and you have to park them at the front entrance, so be aware for people visiting with very young children. A baby carrier is helpful here or some strong arms - the cave tour is around 50 minutes and there is around a 5-10 minute walk to the cave entrance, and then a long walk back to where the buggies are left. (Maybe 20 minutes). So I would come prepared for this. There are plenty of things to do, there is a dino walk through, 4d cinema (currently showing scoob) but be aware, no under 3s are allowed in the 4d cinema due to "safety". I had to sit out with my 1 year old and let everyone else go in. The experience lasts 25 minutes. There is paper making, soft play, theatre (certain days), old penny arcade (1 old penny for 20p or 6 for £1, so take change) mirror maze, adventure golf, air play zone and a small gift shop. There is a cafe which sells hot food and drinks at reasonable prices. We did stop off for lunch and was quite impressed with the food. We spent 5 hours here without feeling we had to drag the day out and we had a lot of fun. We would definitely return again.

Excellent day out! Worth every penny! Caves were amazing with guided tour. 4D cinema, circus, 3 soft plays, golf and loads more. Free car park. Toilets with baby changing facilities, cafe, ice cream parlour. We had fabulous time and definitely will be back again.

Fantastic day out at the caves with a good variety of attractions to explore. The caves are great, filled with history and there are guides dotted throughout to provide you with additional information. I'd recommend wearing non slip boots for this area. There is also 5 parts of the cave that require you to significantly duck.

What a great place for kids to visit. The caves are easy to get around and are really beautiful inside. They even age cheese in there! Lovely well stocked gift shop, free parking, refreshments and a 4D cinema which has moving seats! Lovely grounds, not too steep. Would definitely visit again.

A great local attraction with plenty to do. You can easily spend a day here and the entry price is very reasonable. The caves are amazing and you can book in advance a wild visit with abseiling. Don't forget to check out the cheese maturing in them. If your lucky you may see a bat or to. Plenty to see in the old mill buildings from the 4d theatre, penny arcade (old pennies you can get for a £1), mirrors and mirror maze. Indoor play area for the kids. Restaurant is fairly priced with everything from sandwiches to a hot meal. Outside there's the dinosaur garden to explore and the crazy golf. This is all included in the price. The man with the big red suit is also available to book but do this early to avoid disappointment. Great gift shop. Buy the cheese from the caves and a bottle of cider and go all local. Top Tip 1 Arrive early to get a car parking space. There are plenty but at peak times you will have to sometimes wait for a space. Top Tip 2. Wear sensible shoes with plenty of grips on them. It can be slippy in parts of the cage. Top Tip 3. Avoid peak times for the caves as it can feel like you are pushed along by the crowds and rushed

Great family fun with some really interesting history! The price of the ticket doesn't just include entry, but a whole host of entertainment. Recommended! Would love to come back and experience the caves fully!

Lovely caves to explore in a beautiful area. Booked online, collected our tickets from the gift shop & headed to the tour, all very well organised. The guide was great, very knowledgeable & entertaining about the caves history/legends & exploration. The caves are nice & cool with some areas where you have to crouch to pass. The coolness allows cheese & wine to be stored (and purchased from the gift shop). Upon leaving the caves, there are some nice old games machines that we spent quite a while playing which was a nice experience. Suitable for all ages. Pack an A to Z as phone signal can be hit & miss

The caves were awe inspiring, the natural formations nature has created only brings a majestic hue to a great part of the area. The guides were all very knowledgeable and were all friendly and approachable. There is much todo in such A small area, a better day could not be had, mini golf, 4D cinema, old fashioned arcade with old penny machines, mirror maze, museum and traditional paper making. Fun for the whole family and age groups.

We had a trip here whilst on holiday in somerset, we absolutely loved it especially our son. It's such a wonderful place to visit and so much to see and do. The caves are amazing and so is the outdoor space with the dinosaurs and things. Well worth a visit and quite reasonably priced.

Could easily have stayed longer. When you first arrive, there is a good amount of parking near the slightly creepy looking hotel (Watch out for the witch in the bush!) When you enter the area, you go directly to the path to the left to visit the caves first, or the right to the other attractions. Most people seemed to go straight to the left, but it’s worth noting that the circus is to the right and shows end early afternoon (the day we went was 2pm). The caves themselves are amazing, we could easily have spent much longer, and with a four and seven year old - both were excited. There are your guides and there might even be a few surprises! On the way out you can visit the 4d cinema, see the animatronic dinosaurs or go straight to the museums. The 4d cinema wasn’t brilliant, but the cave history museum (albeit small) was really interesting. The exit leads directly to a really decent sized soft play, penny arcade and some mirror maze. We could easily have stayed longer. Awesome place :)

Superb day out. Thoroughly enjoyed the cave experience with a wonderful guide. Great for families & couples with plenty to see & do. So glad we stopped by. Lovely, helpful friendly staff & a restaurant that isn't over priced that serves really nice food & drink. Had a right laugh on the pirate putting before we left. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

This was our first experience of a cave and it didn't disappoint. It took about 30 minutes to go from one end to the other. There are guides that explain the various parts of the cave as you work your way through. It's an enjoyable tour but I wish it was a bit longer. It gets a bit cold down there so dress appropriately. When you exit you can work your way through a very small dinosaur area. The kids rushed through it bored by the dinos. A bit too old for it I think. It was followed by a 4d cinema. This was really disappointing as the initial story presentation was overly long and added nothing to the experience. After getting into the cinema we couldn't wait to get out. Volume was really low, the 3d was poor and when the wind effects fans turned on at the back of the cinema, that's all you could hear. Just badly set up start to finish. We then went to grab a bite to eat at the cafe which was pretty good. All our meals were tasty. We followed this with the museum and paper making which was really interesting and enjoyable. Unfortunately we missed the live stage show so can't comment on that. The day ended with a short stay at the soft play and then an ice cream on the way out back to the car. We skipped the gold panning and golf altogether as the kids aren't fans of either. Overall the amenities are good, toilets are clean. And ques weren't too long.

Great day out! Just me and my husband, no kids. The caves are stunning! Had a laugh in the penny arcade. Enjoyed the cave tour. We played crazy golf. Had some lovely food. The hotel is literally across the road, which is great. I would wholeheartedly recommend coming here and will definitely come back.

Spent a few hours here, which was amazing going through the caves. Our guide Troy was fantastic couldn't fault his knowledge and his little jokes. Plenty to do after the cave tour, has a kids fun play area, a museum about the old paper mill, they do have shows, but we didn't stay for it. Would highly recommend.

As we went during the covid period there was a lot of restrictions, so I feel 3 stars is fair. The hotel was good it was a very basic room, but clean 1 major downfall as it was hot when we were there the room as no air con, so at night it was horrible, yes there were windows but big ones and on ground level we did not feel comfortable leaving them open all night as it would have been easy for someone to climb through. The food was quite minimal and basic and for what it was it was quite ££ too. The staff were helpful and friendly. The caves were good but not long enough it took us 20-30 mins max to see it all, but again there were restrictions, overall this is a nice little getaway but in peek season and normal circumstances I would hope it would be better than what we experienced.

Felt this site had more potential and there weren’t many precautions against coronavirus as there was no social distancing in place and staff didn’t ensure that people were maintaining it. People wearing face masks and sanitiser is available. Very rainy day and was queuing outside for an hour and then the caves were only 20 minutes so didn’t feel worth it. Booked online for a 12pm slot however anyone could roll up so not worth your time for booking as they didn’t seem to care about it. If had a shorter queue the caves would have been worth it and many attractions are shut due to coronavirus. It’s a shame as was excited to go to the caves but it was beautiful inside.

We had a brilliant time visiting as a family last week. The cave was really stunning and the lighting was really well placed. The museum exhibits were fascinating, the Dino Valley and fairy garden was fun and we had a really good laugh playing crazy golf. The gift shop was lovely to look around and we bought the Wookey Hole Cheese (matured in the caves) which is delicious. They do boat rides and cave diving too which I would go back to do one day as it looked like great fun.

Great place to spend a few hours with family & friends. It was really fantastic walking through the caves & seeing the different levels & chambers that you walk through. There is even staff at different chambers to give you information. You can also hire your own guide to walk you around the caves. Outside the caves there is other entertainment. The Witches Laboratory has a 4D cinema show. There is also Adventure Golf & food & drinks is available on site. Overall a good experience. 👍👌😁

Is this a beautiful part of the country? Yes, is it an experience you don't do every day? Yes, is it expensive for what it is? Yes. The fact that you can only go round once as your kinda herded around at the pace of the crowd, it's not even peak periods and I can't imagine how busy the summer holidays are and we probably missed parts. It's a beautiful place to visit and not something you'd do very often so on that note being able to take your time I feel is quite important. The after attractions were pretty good too I.e the dinosaur 🦕 models, King Kong, Hall of mirrors, children's play area. With all that I feel that the prices are extortionate the entry costs could be at least 25% less as they must make major profits elsewhere as the food and gift shop I found to be way overpriced.

Loved visiting here! Came with my sister and wife and we had the best day. Ample parking, lots of things to do, we didn’t manage to fit the adventure golf in but did everything else. The paper making demo was great and even got to have a go at making some. Our fave was the old penny arcade. Could have spent the whole day in there on the games! The 4D cinema was also very good. The cave tours were interesting and our guide was very knowledgable too. The gift shop had lots to choose from!

Cool caves, crazy golf and copious amounts of ice cream! Lots to do, some fun activities for all ages. The caves are fun! The 4D cinema was a bit pants, but the crazy golf was a bit of a laugh. Alan invited us to his lodge for beers and a medal. A good laugh! The whole place is pretty surreal but definitely an entertaining day. Don't go in with massive expectations, instead just enjoy the wild ride that is Wookey Hole! When you think it's all done, it just keeps going...

We had a fantastic time here. The kids want to come again. The caves were excellent, the tour guide was really good. The 4D cinema is well worth a look, adventure golf was fun and the circus performed by local kids was brilliant. The penny arcade and hall of mirrors was also a delightful extra treat. Well worth a visit.

Amazing place for adults and children. Used to go as a kid myself and now I've taken my 2 year old twice. Great soft zone for kids, restaurant with reasonably priced food with big portions. Only thing I'd ask for is for there to be a quicker guide through the caves at a certain time for kids if there ain't one already, kids get a little bored of the stopping an talking. So a slow walk through without long stops would be perfect.

  • 5/5 Gary J. 2 months ago on Google • 103 reviews New
Really enjoyed my first visit to the caves, they're truly spectacular. The tour guide had lots of fascinating stories about the history of the caves, including their development, discovery, and local legends. As a six-footer I had to crouch down in a few places, so be prepared for that if you're on the taller side (to be fair, the five-footers had to crouch too, just not as much!). Outside the caves, the 4D cinema experience was fun and the dinosaur exhibit was interesting. The restaurant had decent food at a reasonable price and car parking is free. This is a must-see if you're in the area.

Great day out, loved the caves, as did the kids, plenty to see and do outside of that too. There's an old fashioned arcade with old one penny machines - you can buy the pennies there. The resurant was very reasonable with decent sized portions and tasted great!

Fantastic day out. The caves are amazing and they decorated them beautifully for Christmas. Just mind your head in some places. The paper making experience was fantastic as well as the 4 D show. The food was welcome on the very cold day we went and reasonably priced.

Took a late entrance ticket after 3pm on a Saturday during school holidays and it was deserted!! Perfect during Covid pandemic. Plenty of time left to see the caves and even enjoyed a round of crazy golf! Social distancing being enforced and face mask use in the caves. Great visit 10/10!

  • 4/5 David W. 3 years ago on Google
Nice little treat, it's been years since I've been. It did seem a lot smaller to me (growing up does that), but still enjoyed it. Only down side is that some parts were closed due to Covid

  • 4/5 Paul W. 3 years ago on Google
With Covid it's self guided, but there is no information as used to be provided by the tour guides. Caves are worth a visit, but with no guide, and walking through takes about 15 minutes, weigh it up yourself. Note... If you buy your ticket on line and it says you can bypass the ticket line, and see signs that say the same, it's not true unless you have a printed ticket, otherwise you still need to line up and tell them your reference number to receive a hard ticket.

  • 3/5 Bert G. 3 years ago on Google
Expensive for what it is... Even if everything was open the price is a bit on the high side. There weren't many of the attractions available due to the obvious, yet the tickets are still full price. Queue's were very long and not very safe in terms of social distancing, spent the majority of the time in a que. A positive note is that once you get in, the caves themselves were brilliant and a great experience!

  • 5/5 Steve O. 3 years ago on Google

A great day out for all the family. We took our daughter age 5 and her grandparents over 55. We all had a fab time. We spent around 3 hrs there but could have stayed longer, unfortunately we had to leave to get back to London in good time. We will revisit for a longer time for sure. Covid 19 and the social distancing measures were acceptional. We felt as safe as we could be sticking to the one way system that was in place. The gift shop was very reasonably priced for all the usual kid tat so we feel we didn't have to say no to everything our little princess wanted.

  • 4/5 Jo B. 3 years ago on Google
An experience, caves are amazing, though a bit scary! Due to COVID-19 there are a few things closed, but I think that was reflected in the price. I would recommend though!

We had a night at the Wookey Hole hotel before travelling on to Devon. Sadly lots still closed due to COVID restrictions, so only enough to fill 2-3 hours tops. Long queue to get into the caves, then we queued for an ice cream that was lovely, but then we couldn't face the queue for the crazy golf.

Going in the caves is a great experience, and it looks lovely the way it is lit up. If you are interested in the history of the caves I suggest buying a guide book so you know which chamber is which and the story that goes behind it. There is the Dino land, fairy garden, and museums to walk through, although there is not much to look at here, just a quick walk through. A few indoor bits to look at and crazy golf which we wanted to do but it rained hard. The restaurant had a limited menu mainly chips and chicken nuggets, fish or burgers and sandwiches. One way system around the place and hand sanitizing stations which was good. The ice cream at the ice cream parlour was delicious and they had more flavours and different flavours than I have ever seen. I didn't know what to choose. They also support the eat out to help out in the parlour so ice creams were half price which was a bonus as they are quite expensive otherwise. The gift shop is quite big and they also sell wookey cheese and wine and local mead in there. Which is all yummy.

The COVID19 protocols need to looked at. Need better signs getting to the caves. Once in the caves really good signs and the staff where really good. But once outside, it was a free for all. The gift shop was badly managed, didn't do the mini golf as there was no sign of the clubs being wipped between players. Glad we payed with Tesco club points not with our money.

We booked and paid online and chose a slot for 1200-1230 to access the caves. Apparently this is so that the venue can ensure social distancing and stagger the number of people at any one time. When we arrived there was a massive queue of people which went around the car park, apparently even if you book and pay online you still have to joking this to get “paper” tickets. Yes like it’s 1985! We stood in that queue for around 30 minutes (we arrived earlier than our clot time for the caves thankfully) and the time was not around 11:35 so around 25 minutes until our self guided cave tour. The next thing we could see was a huge queue of people going up the hill towards the cave entrance! Yes another queue, yipeee! We stood in this one for around 45 minutes until we got to the front. Missing out latest slot of 1230 but a few minutes however it didn’t appear that the times slots meant anything to anyone anyway so why you have to chose a time is beyond me and there was no special distancing measures in the queue at all. ?. Not a great first impression at all. They also don’t mention maybe getting there an hour before your pre booked “slot” or that you will have to queue for so long. Also be aware that there is a penny arcade that you can go into however nowhere does it mention online that there are no cash points and so bring change! The website makes it look like a full day out, however many of the listed attractions are just things you happen to walk past or through and at best I’d say you only need 4-5 hours here. Caves were great. Cheese is good. Rest I can leave.

The caves are cool. I hate the fact some rich guy came along and bought the cave to turn into a business. I don't think caves should be owned by anyone.. they predate money after all. The dinosaurs and penny arcade are the most tactyest thing I've ever seen. Has this got an American influence? The guides are also poo and uninterested. Money grabbing business

Amazing place. Natural caves with quite some stories behind them, really nice friendly and knowledgeable guides. There is also a clip and climb route and Quite a few other distractions like pirate theme restaurant and mini golf, ice cream, 4D cinema, witch laboratory and others. Great day out!!!

  • 1/5 Eddie M. 3 years ago on Google
Booked a time slot to go into the caves with a prebooked ticket. When we turned up there was a 30 minute queue just to get to the ticket booth. Then the person in the ticket box said they had lost control of the timings for the caves and it was just a free for all. The queue for the caves themselves was over an hour so we and a lot of people in line just went and got a refund and left. Very disappointing really. Also in these Covid times there was no social distancing and didn't seem like any planning plus no staff to direct people or help out.

The caves are really impressive. We took the afternoon tickets and arrived quite late, so we had the caves almost exclusively for us. The rest of the park is quite bad, very old and outdated, not worth spending too much time there.

Very interesting, helpful staff (we even got to look in the cheese cave)

  • 3/5 Ve S. 3 years ago on Google
The caves were pretty beautiful and the staff have done a great job with lighting etc. However we were surprised how quickly our tour came to an end as we expected more than a (quick) ten minute walk, especially as we had travelled quite a way to see these famous caves. Probably good fun for kids as there were other attractions on site. A nice afternoon out but I won't be rushing back.

Don't go during covid. A lot of the attrsctions aren't open and they are charging full price. Definitely not worth the full price.

Caves are fantastic, but the rest of it is not up to snuff at the moment. The whole thing is severely pared down at the moment due to covid. Cost me £50 for me and my two kids, and after the cave theres basically just the gift shop at the moment.

Great afternoon out at wookey hole. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and the caves we're great.

  • 1/5 Ken 3 years ago on Google
What amazed me was that Covid is not at Wookey Hole Caves, there was no sanitizer in a lot of the dispensers, distancing was none existent. As you entered the indoor section after the caves the arcade was open and you had to squeeze though to get out, 3ft between people more like 3 inches. The toilets after the caves were the dirtiest I have seen in a long time, every where else we have been since Covid there have been staff at the toilets ensuring the toilets are clean. I think the last member of staff to have been anywhere near those toilets must have been about a week ago.

  • 5/5 Liz C. 3 years ago on Google
We had a really great morning. The caves only took about 20 minutes and even though a few of the things to do inside (show, play areas) were closed we still managed to have a great time. We were only there a couple of hours as wasn’t loads to do but still great to experience and my 6 year old loved it (I think any longer and she would have got bored). Staff were all friendly and appropriate Covid measures in place. Definitely worth visiting the ice cream parlour.

  • 3/5 Stacey B. 3 years ago on Google
Was interesting, clean and organised. Some of the attraction is not open for obvious reasons, and the mini golf could do with a do up. The main restaurant food is lush, however spoilt by no atmosphere which could be done regardless of covid. It is crying out for singer or juggler or something which could still be socially distanced. I would recommend and would return when maybe all availbe to see and do.

Cave visit was rushed, allotted booked time was ignored.

  • 2/5 Simon C. 3 years ago on Google
Great place normally but in these times with Covid 19 a severe lack of social distancing and signage. Large queues on entry without sensible social distancing measures even though you've prebooked. Queueing to and within the cave and people not wearing masks. Didn't enjoy the experience due to the lack of public safety with regards Covid. Even the toilets didn't have social distancing.

Great place to visit not just for the caves but the old games rooms too. Also learn some history about the caves and the divers who discovered them

  • 3/5 Jam C. 3 years ago on Google
Due to current Covid19 restrictions, the best option was to book online and pay in advance for a timed tour slot to the caves. We booked a midday slot. Arrived on site to then be told that we had to queue up with everyone, whether they had pre-booked or not, to collect our tickets from the ticket office. After 30 minutes of queuing, we finally get our tickets, then literally walked for 2 minutes up the hill towards the cave entrance where we then had to join another queue for the cave entry. We started the second queue about midday. About an hour and a quarter later, we finally get in to the caves and there is no official tour guide taking you round the caves and telling you about them. You are simply left to follow others around the caves and make of it what you will. Not at all what we were expecting as an experience sadly. We had thought that the time slots were to control the amount of people on site and going through the caves so that you get a good tour experience and do so safely but that certainly didn't seem to be the case on our visit, hence all the queuing we found ourselves doing. Some impressive looking caves but sadly not a good day out for us today, something must have gone wrong because surely it can't be like this everyday? Can it?!

Had a really nice time with our two year old today. Is term time now so was quiet and a bit of maintenance being done on the dinosaurs. Didn't detract from our experience. A few things were for 3yrs and up but there were still lots of things for her to do. We used some tesco vouchers to keep the price down. Some things are a bit tired looking and need a good clean but on the whole we had a great day. And the Littl'un is still roaring like a dinosaur this evening!

The staff were friendly and helpful. We've never visited wookey hole before and didn't know what to expect. The comedy night was ok and we both thought the compere was the best comedian of the night! Looking forward to hearing about other events.

What a great day yesterday in the caves I bought my ticket online for first in at 10am, well worth getting up earlier for, absolutely no one but me in there! Best time to visit I can imagine summer being far too busy the noise multitude of people would echo all around you.as it was I could here the water drops falling down the limestone walls. Lots of history going back millenia

Caves were nice, but not much to see. We were finished in 30 min. Then watched the 4D cinema, always fun. Restaurant run out of chips and as usual overpriced food not worth it. Plenty of places to have picnic so bring your own snacks. Nice experience.

Enjoyed the caves, the crazy golf & the mirror maze which is included. It was better pre - Covid with a tour. The film was good in the 4D cinema. The seats moved so violently it hurt my back so be careful. Disappointed 2/3rds of the caves were closed off to the public.

The Caves are fantastic. Fascinating. The guides we're very knowledgeable and good to chat with. Everything else, primarily aimed at children, was a bit tacky and felt detached from the main attraction.

Absolutely fantastic day today at wookey hole! The tour guide was great and the caves were stunning, lots of low cave ceilings and pools inside the caves. You then come into an area with dinosaurs, a lot of which move and a 4d cinema with moving seats. You also get to watch a guy make paper and can play on some really vintage one arm bandits and old penny machines amd fortune tellers. Honestly has been a great day

  • 5/5 Jade B. 2 years ago on Google
Great day out for the whole family! Guides for the caves, kids were so fascinated and no matter how silly the question, they answered amazingly! Even had funny facts! All the additional attractions were nice too, everything in one affordable price!

  • 4/5 Sally S. 1 year ago on Google
Fascinating to see inside the caves and learn about the relatively new discovery of new chambers. The extra attractions are ideally suited for families with children, dinosaurs and soft play will always be winners, and the mirror maze was good. Loved the cinema experience, altho the lead up to going into the auditorium nearly lost us, we were glad we stayed!

  • 5/5 Susan B. 1 year ago on Google
The caves are amazing, and huge! Lots of other attractions too like the 4D experience, Circus shows, mill & attractions. The Dinosaurs are everywhere too. Captain Jacks Restaurant, ice cream parlour and a gift shop. Great day out with the kids.

What an amazing place to visit. The walk through the caves is breathtaking, although in some places you have to mind your head and bend over to follow the path. Guides are situated along the path to offer information about the Caves. A bit pricey to enter, over £21 for an adult with concessions for over 60's. Once you have done the caves there are other areas to look at with a theatre showing the diving in the caves a circus with seating cray golf, food halls and the biggest Gorilla I have ever seen..Have fun

Lovely day out!! I would definitely recommend a visit if you are in the Cheddar area. The cave tour was excellent. The guide was entertaining and knowledgeable. We enjoyed playing in the old penny arcade and it was brilliant to have mini golf included in our ticket price. All in all, a fabulous day out, well worth the money and will be visiting again soon. PS- if you like cheese, try the cave matured Wookey Hole cheese. It's delicious!!

  • 5/5 Damian R. 1 year ago on Google
An absolutely fantastic day out, well worth the entry fee! All the staff are lovely and happy to engage a 4 year old about witches and legends. The cave trail (£2 glow sticks at the entrance, think every child bought one) is large enough to feel like an adventure but not too long and when you emerge there are fairies and dinosaurs! Food is good and the soft play is exceptionally good fun (I think the parents might have enjoyed it as much if not more than the kids!). The mirror maze is good fun too but the carousel is not worth the money. Really enjoyed our day and the kids can't wait to go back!!

  • 5/5 Jessica W. 10 months ago on Google
Absolutely fantastic! The caves are just stunning. I would bring an extra layer if you get chilly as the caves are cold. There's lots for children to do, paper making, pemny arcades and a 4d cinema!

  • 5/5 Weekend W. 10 months ago on Google
I visited wookey hole privately to film a friend on his guitar, but wow this place is beautiful. I have been once before with the wild wookey caving group that is also fantastic. Wonderful caves, a new chamber had been found the last time I visited. Playground for children, gift shop, bar, food and of course cheese and cider!

  • 5/5 Victoria T. 11 months ago on Google
It was our second time here. We came during term time, so it was relatively quiet, which meant we could take our time seeing everything. The tour guide in the caves was fantastic, informative, and very friendly! I would definitely recommend coming here at least once, but I would love to visit over and over again given the amount of activities you get for your ticket price.

  • 4/5 Debbie N. 10 months ago on Google
Great day out with a good amount to do for younger children, less for adults though. We visited as we enjoy exploring the caves, these caves are fascinating and a must see if staying in the area. The tour guide was lovely and knowledgeable. It would have been much better if it was a self guided audio tour as when you are in a large group, if is a struggle to hear the guide as people around you keep talking, unable to see things at your own pace and difficult to see everything / take photos with lots of people crammed into one small place. 4D cinema is currently showing Scoob! This is a pretty good experience but did feel that the starting room didn't fit in with the story and there seemed to be a section missing as the plot seemed to jump. Penny arcade is fun to stop in, lots of different old machines to play on. Paper making area was closed, which is a shame as that would have been nice to do. Overall, I would visit again but in a good few years. Negatives Lost a star due to long wait times and prices. Purchased 2x double scoop ice creams in tubs and they cost around £5, flakes are extra 80p. Adult ticket seems a little pricey too considering most things there are for kids (soft play areas). We prebooked but still had to wait in line at ticket booth to collect tickets, which is understandable however, there was only one person serving in the ticket booth. In addition to this, there was only one person serving ice cream so the wait there was lengthy too. One tub was empty and when we asked if there was any more, he replied 'don't know' - we had to ask him to check. The first place to visit is the cave itself, you follow a path and just wait in a queue with no information as to when the next tour will be so again, another wait. I assume there was a staffing shortage today as it was noticeable.

2nd time here. Had lots of fun. First time for my 5 year old. He absolutely enjoyed it. But we were a bit late as the last show for circus was 2pm and also adventure golf which was closed when we had finished our tour and indoor soft play. I would definitely recommend you to go early to make it the tickets worth. We will definitely be coming again early this time and also try out the golf which looked amazing. We were lucky enough to see some people do the wild caving experience. They looked so cool. Amazed at how brave they were. Kids will definitely have tons of fun here as well as the adults.

Lots of fun and activities for all the family to see and do. Warning to those less able that traversing the caves can be a challenge with areas requiring you to duck down as you walk along ( a challenge for those of us of a taller stature), uneaten flooring, grated bridges, and plenty of stairs. But if you can manage to move around the views are beautiful and the staff very knowledgeable. We all had a great day out.

  • 5/5 Karen C. 8 months ago on Google
So much fun. The folklore mysteriously entertaining. The cave history of development interesting. The guides very knowledgeable. The Witch and Scooby 4D shows were thrilling... didn't check the concessions tho... Great Day Out!

An interesting place that's in the middle of nowhere... Nice theatre display with impressive performance had my two kids mesmerised. Cave had guides who could share lots of information to those who wanted to stop and ask and listen. Not the best looking food, school cafe is what I say it resembled. Fossil digging needed sand topping up.

What a great day out at Wookey Hole today. We had a fantastic and informative tour of the caves, amazing. Lots to do for families and young kids will love it. Caves, Circus show, theatre, Dino world, crazy golf and more. Definitely worth a visit

  • 5/5 Gillian E. 7 months ago on Google
The visitor to the caves is first confronted with a steep and longish walk to get to the cave entrance- not recommended for those who find walking up slopes and distances a challenge. The walk is well worth it though because the caves are incredible. This amazing cave system was brought alive by an amazing guide who was knowledgeable, interesting and witty. The different Chambers were spectacular with beautiful rock formations and crystal clear waters. The connecting tunnels are not challenging, but some of the going is low, and can be slippy. Pay attention to the right footwear! There is also an area of high walkways which are over a very long drop. But quite safe and I had no problem with these and I have a healthy fear of heights. The gift shop was filled with the usual gift shop tat, but in amongst the tat were some lovely things too. The rest of the Wooky Hole complex will amuse children especially with a hidden dinosaur valley with animated roaring dinos, a theatre, old fashioned arcade games and fair ground attractions and a mini golf. The cafe was reasonably priced serving lasagne, chips, jacket Spuds, various pasties etc., along with a good selection of cold drinks and hot drinks. Free car park and prestine loos! Well worth a visit.

Super fun family day out. I have some mobility issues and managed the cave absolutely fine, although there are some low parts where you have to bend down. So be aware of this. Queue for caves could do with more seating.
