Beautiful park with pool, children's play area, small golf section and lovely riverside walks. Has a kiosk for snacks but this is seasonal, a beautiful bandstand and a cricket ground hidden at the back. The park is a perfect place to visit with kids in summer and a very pleasant place to take a sandwich for lunch, take the small bridge direct from the town centre. Beautiful.

Love our local park...just off the main town center street...has an open air swimming pool, cricket pitch, football ground, bandstand, children’s play area, tennis courts, basketball court, 5 a side soccer pitch, sunken gardens, monument to the Falklands War & War memorial, public toilets, oodles of picnic areas and a monument to the composers of the Welsh National anthem.

Lovely park. The park is dog friendly and is a beautiful place to go and visit. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting here. The park has a wide range of facilities including the Lido (once allowed to open), restrooms, a children's play area, wide open spaces for picnics etc, a river and sports facilities.

Best playground in South Wales!! It's massive and has so much fun equipment in it! A zip line, big sand pit with diggers & pulleys, a train, tunnels, swings, roundabout, seesaws, slides of every size... It really does cater for a wide range of ages!

What a beautiful Park loads to do with the children. The childrens playarea is fantastic. There's an out door pool which opens during summer months which is fab. The gardens surrounding it are well maintained, just the thing for a family picnic. There's tennis courts bowls a golf course and much more. There is also a cafe and toilets. The river runs along side and the shops are nearby if you fancy a bit of retail therapy. Go and have a look you'll have a lovely day

What a park! So much to do for all ages! Plus there a large sandpit, so take your bucket and spade! Loads of benches to sit on or plenty of ground to put down a blanket for a picnic. There is a lovely cafe plus an ice cream shop. It's all well maintained and very clean. Not physically been into the outdoor swimming pool...maybe this year. Parking - I tend to go in the NCP Goods car park behind bus station. Its a 5min walk to the park

My kids always love playing in the park there's lots to do. Weather it's going on the zip like and climbing up to the big spiral slide or even if you have toddlers then can play in the sand or go through tunnels. Great fun of everyone, there's even a coffee shop for the adults or even picnic benches to sit at and watch your little ones

Lovely large open space, with a large children's park and places to eat. Or you could enjoy your own picnic in the park. Great for walking the dog or just taking in the views. Car parks are a little walk away, but reasonably priced. The Lido is also located near the park, but has to be pre-booked.

Took my little one for a play date in the playground. Larger and more up to date than the last time I had been. Also lots of room to ride his bike. Easy access with both bridge's into the park.

A lovely, spacious park. The children's play area can get incredibly busy at peak times, which isn't a negative, but something to be aware of. There's toilets and a reasonable cafe on site. As well as the lido.

We love coming here. The park is beautiful, we love walking around here. The children's play area is great, plenty for little ones and older children to explore (although it can get a little chaotic during busy periods) The main toilets could do with a refurbishment or cleaned more regularly and there's no baby changing facilities. I found it difficult when my son and I go on own our as there's not much room in there with a pushchair. There is a disability toilet, for those with keys.

Lovely park to walk through, sit on a bench to relax or have lunch. New refurbished bandstand and other areas look great! Gardens & flower borders always lovely. Various sport activities for adults & kids - Lido & Café. Dog area. Go visit!

Beautiful Town centre park, which you do not appreciate until older. Should be the bedrock of the town from which to rejuvenate. Recent years has seen a lot more attention to the park and long may it continue !

  • 5/5 Julie B. 2 years ago on Google
Lovely place for the children, there is also a lido suitable for both adults and children. Toilets are available and there is a cafe serving meals and an ice cream hut opposite. You can extend your walk if you follow the taff trail through to Treforest and continue at the side of the crematorium to take you to Nantgarw, it's a flat walk and if you're feeling energetic, you can continue over the main road and follow the Taff trail to Castell Coch or Craig y Alt or alternatively, walk down into the trading estate and head for Taff's Well by following the trail off the roundabout and exit for Gwylod yr Garth pass the pub onto the Garth Mountain.

A neat and generally well presented town park with sports playing fields, basketball courts, a good children's play area, Lido swimming pool, cafe and war memorial. It appears to do well with the space it has, and money is currently being invested in a few projects across the park. You do get the few representatives from the local Heavy Drinking and Recreational Drugs Society lurking about the place from time to time, but I've never been bothered by anyone there. The park is closed up though at sunset. A decent place to bring the kids when the sun's out for an afternoon.

👍👍 Very grateful to have this place open again - it was always derelict growing up so it feels quite a privilege to have it back. Amazing what they were able to do after the floods, too. Booking can be difficult, particularly as people can't travel abroad very much at the moment so are looking for act...
