Lovely park with duckpond takeaway drinks and a variety of areas in which to walk. In springtime it is a mass of daffodils and crocuses. Love spending time here.

One of my favourite parks in Cardiff. Itโ€™s got it all and one of the best coffee huts around!

This is one of my local dog walking parks. The bottom part of the park has a lovely small coffee shop which serves locally roasted coffee, the top part allows dogs off lead. It's a great park to meet other dog walkers, and it won't be long before your own pup will join the other dogs of all ages and shapes in playing and mucking about. Great excersize for the dogs, great opportunity for you to talk to other locals.

Nice city park. Large field for dog walking. There's also a large pond which attracts ducks. Park is on two levels with steps and inclines beteeen them. Theres also a small cafe serving good coffee and snacks. Dog friendly. I've been visiting for around 60 years. It's still a welcome green space in an urban area but is now rather neglected - it once boasted spectacular flower beds, fishponds and shrubberies in the Victorian style. Today it is largely composed of lawns and mature trees.

Bigger than you first think. Lovely water features and statue of a boy with a butterfly. Mostly flat, but the is a higher, green field up a flight of steps, too. Peaceful, no children's playground.

Nice park with good country style walks. Good coffee shop, I tried to add it, but the app would not allow me to do so. The Coffee Shop does great chocolate and a vegan cookie that is edible. Good wildlife for the second year in a row saw a spotted woodpecker. Good pond with plenty of ducks.

Gorgeous park. Multiple levels accessable via stairs or steep slopes that may not be suitable for some wheelchair users without help. Coffee available.

Nice park to visit benches to sit on. Didn't rate Lufkins Coffee hut coffee very expensive, small cups and service very slow. Also coffee was cold. I will go back to the park but not to Lufkins

Thompson Park is so beautiful. I discovered it by talking to a fellow dog walker. It has a bit of everything and some beautiful wildlife. There's a top and a lower park, both of which are pretty in their own way. Not a huge park but a lovely, relaxing one.

A good place is a tribute to human potential, where dreams are nurtured, and aspirations take flight. It's a destination that inspires us to set ambitious goals, work diligently toward achieving them, and embrace the limitless possibilities that lie ahead.

A pleasant park, one of the more medium-sized of the parks in Cardiff. Itโ€™s hidden behind houses on Pencisely Road and have been past lots of times, without realising there was a park here. Itโ€™s worth a visit though. Thompsonโ€™s Park is in two parts, thereโ€™s the bigger field with lots of trees around it on the Pencisely Road side and the lower bit of the park, down the hill. The lower bit of the park has the duck pond and flower beds. Thereโ€™s also Lufkin Coffee. In terms of accessibility, thereโ€™s a path all the way round the park. To get from the upper field to the lower section of the park, thereโ€™s either stairs (which look a bit steep) or a path you can take round. The path winds around the hill to traverse it, but you definitely still know that youโ€™re walking up a hill.

We had a enjoyable afternoon here. It has a lot, uphill and downhill walk way, big open space, a small pond with ducks and plants, flower garden and more. It is great option for having a walk or sitting down to enjoy the nature.

If you've not been to this outstanding Cardiff Park in Canton yet, then you're missing out on one of Cardiffs Best Hidden Gems - for it is beauty in itself. For Thompsons Park will astound you. The landscape dips & dives, the very well maintained flowerbeds & ponds are awash with floral splendour, where wildlife abounds. There's even a wee coffee shop at the entrance on the Romilly Road side. The architecture & natural flow of the metalwork stopped me in my tracks and made me pause for thought & the views from the top, well, I'll let you decide

No toilets, but the park is nice and there is a really nice food hut where you can get a nice coffee and sandwiches.

Lived here all my life I do like to visit here with my dog on a lead but do try to time it when the masses of families with kids running loose ain't there. It's more of a idyllic little park not one for kids screaming or dogs off lead which spoils it. On a quiet day beautiful park hot day get a blanket and relax but spoilt it with a coffee shop now we live in a world where its more important to have a coffee shop than anywhere to empty your bladder when away from home ludicrous ! Shoukd have left it as it was the tea and coffee was awful had to throw it in bin then where do u go toilet aftr drinking all their tea lol .Nice quaint park spoilt by dogs off lead and some children more of a beauty spot you can enjoy

Great little park with an upstairs and a downstairs. Nice through the seasons and has a good cafe (Old Rangers Hut). Good for dog walking.

Really nice place for a walk, no playground for the little ones mind so it really is a suitable place for a picnic, dog walk or stroll with the pram. From the entrance at Romilly road you are at the bottom of the park. You can walk up the path on the left to the green space at the top or the more adventurous with little ones can walk up the steps on the right. Best part - kids of ducks for toddlers to coo over! Small coffee shop at entrance too - with non dairy options available.

Kind of a magical sanctuary in Canton, especially if you have young kids. Different parts evoke different feelings all of which are connected by sprawling little paths. A lovely place.
