Free entrance & free parking, donations excepted, free entrance to the house on the ground floor, £5 to have the audio tour for the 1st floor Insole Court is a Grade II Listed Victorian Gothic mansion in Llandaff, Cardiff, Wales, built for wealthy businessman James Harvey Insole and dating back to 1855. The mansion and Stable Yard are operated by a registered charity, the Insole Court Trust, who began operating the site in 2016 there's plenty of information boards around and the architecture is great they also look after the gardens really well, definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

Gorgeous place, so beautiful done up! Gorgeous garden around it, and lovely teashop! Nice place, we spend around 1 to 2 hours. Also the vegetable community garden is worth a visit! Once a month there is a farmer's market, every last Sunday of the month from 9 till 1, delicious bread, cheese, meat plants, spices, chocolates, craft beers and ciders. My favourite was fermented vegetables, delicious!

Beautiful old building just on the outskirts of the city. A lovely cafe and spectacular gardens make this a great destination.

A wonderful mansion and park in Cardiff. Great cakes at the Potting Shed cafe.

Beautiful little gem in the middle of a busy urban environment. So peaceful and quiet even though there were plenty of people there. The gardens and grounds were well kept. It looked like there were a couple of exciting projects underway too. Lovely cafe.

Victorian house and gardens. The ground floor of the house and gardens are open to the public. (The first floor is only accessible as part of a tour.) Look out for the painted frieze in the Reading room - commission from the same artist as decorated Cardiff Castle/Castell Coch. The café is well worth a visit. There are various rooms for hire for e.g. weddings, birthdays with a choice of catering options. We hired the Drawing Room for a buffet afternoon tea for 50 - a beautiful space and the food was excellent and more than adequate! Well behaved dogs are allowed in the house, café and shop.

A lovely nineteenth century restored mansion and grounds. It’s a short walk from Llandaf village so could be combined with a visit there as well. The grounds are really pleasant for a walk around. Insole Court hosts lots of activities, there’s something for everyone here. I’ve found it useful for baby activities: Shiny Happy People, Music with Mummy and Yumi Yoga (and baby massage). It’s well worth looking at their website to see what’s on. Insole Court has a popular coffee shop, with lots of seating outside when the weather’s nice. There’s a decent sized car park as you enter from Fairwater Road. If the car park’s full you can park on-street on the streets behind Insole Court (you can access it via the grounds).

Gardens are well maintained. We often just walk around the grounds, with our dog on the lead as it is a place that welcomes dogs. They have water bowels for them as well. There is disabled parking.

Nice cafe wife hot food, sandwiches and cakes (Welsh rarebit was great). The automated upstairs house tour was very well done with lots information. Downstairs free to look around several rooms furnished in period and a few set up as warm hub. Small grounds to walk around also

A great place for walks. Beautifully looked after grounds with magnificent trees. Lots of little pathways meandering through the trees. The house itself is lovely, today there were window cleaners who had a very big job to do, I lost count of the number of windows. The interior is amazing, beautiful tiled floors, high ceilings, all original fireplaces and a beautiful stairs. Always happy to go for a wander and a coffee.

Truly a hidden gem in Llandaff. Would 100% recommend visiting. The volunteers there kindly shared their precious knowledge of the manor and of the Insole family history.

What a lovely garden to walk around, birds singing and squirrels running round. We got married on Saturday and had some photos of my new wife and me in the grounds. What a lovely setting. I would recommend it.

Love this place which has been taken over and run by the local community. Lovely old house - public spaces now beautifully restored but with an air of faded grandeur. Looking forward to our daughter's wedding there.

The perfect place to visit for a potter in the gardens, coffee & cake in the cafe, and a chill in the reading room if you're in the Llandaff area. Also offers classes, performances, markets and private room hire. A great little corner of Cardiff!

Lovely enclosed gardens, perfect for family visits and a safe place to contain our toddler. The cafe and gift shop are great too. Everything else is understandably closed at the moment, I think.

My colleagues and I, from First Ascent, used Insole Court today to run a Leadership Development day for 20 people in the Billiard Room. It is a fabulous building with a great team who could not do enough to make it a great experience for us and the delegates. Thanks very much to all the team and especially to the Director, Gray, who drove us to the station as our taxi failed to turn up. Five star plus!! Thanks again.

Met a friend for coffee at the Potting Shed recently. Set in beautiful surroundings the recent refurbishment looks fab! So welcoming bright, fresh and clean and the service is tops! What topped it for me: as a lover of plants I was happy to see plant books dotted around for people to read. I so wanted to get my nose in the book, but that would have been very rude to my friend! So I'll be returning for a coffee and some down time on my own very soon. Top place!👍🏾
