Definitely a surprise whilst visiting the castle. Also very eerie with all the rain today! Would recommend a visit for people interested in WW2 history

It’s alright. The rest of the castle has a far more interesting history. But then I’m not as obsessed with everything WWII as some people.

Really gives you an insider's view of war time. Must have been mixed emotions sitting in the shelter hearing the planes above.

Kind of hidden inside the walls, but definitely worth a visit!

Cardiff corporation asked Bute to use the outer walls as a War Shelters during ww2 and he agreed. Modifications made and a lot of people found protection from the bombs.
