Was looking for a budget friendly accommodation near the center of Cardiff, and found Austin’s. The location is great but the rooms are absolutely disgusting. There is mold EVERYWHERE. It’s unreal. Honestly for you health you’re probably better off paying extra to stay somewhere a bit nicer. The two stars is for the immediate action of the team who were able to move me. I appreciated their swift movement in this situation.

Awful, I did not stay the night. There were dead bugs on the window ledge and floor. One small window was broken so was unable to lock it properly, the microwave was dirty, tv remote did not work, there was also a door in the bathroom leading to the outside which made me feel unsafe. Very unhappy!

A family of 5 booked the family room. The staff were friendly and helpful, location is good in terms of getting to the city centre, Cardiff castle etc and other attractions, however the accommodation is in a dodgy area, alot of trash lying around, and drunk/drugged homeless people. The room was not cleaned to a high standard. The shower had little to zero water pressure, I wouldn't recommend. Definitely not 3 star.

The guest house is in a great location, and had expected basic accommodation from the price, but cleanliness is 1 star. The mugs and spoons were unusable, the bathroom sink hadn't been cleaned from the last guests and was full of hair and dirt and everything in the room was in poor condition.

I couldn't find a kitchenette which was what I read before booking. Finding the main entrance was a nightmare. Not very easy to find but great location

Very small private room, there is a bit of noise from the outside street but inside the house it was always quiet so sleeping was pleasant. There was a small closet but no hangers, so I couldn't use it. Nowhere else to put clothes except on the back of the chair. Everywhere smelled nice. Personally, too expensive.

After I arrived I found locked doors without possibility to open them using pin number which was sent to me by email. No-one picked up when I tried to call a few times. Also didn't get respond on email's where I asked for explaining why that happened. Simply I just lost £40. Definitely don't recommend this place.

Nice comfortable single bed. Easy to get in and out with minimum fuss with the pin code provided. Toilet facilities are in the hall but perfectly adequate. Great place to crash close to the city centre if you're on a budget. Used this place as I was going to see Biffy Clyro down the bay and found it a great place to stay.

Great location and the facilities were good however the apartment I was allocated felt damp. The bedroom was dirty and there was what appeared to be mould on the walls. Just dirty in general in that room. As I was getting over a cold I decided not to stay the two nights and booked a much better place which turned out to be £20 more. It’s not often I complain but I advised customer service that I wasn’t staying and the reasons why, they were both great but the owner just over a week later refused to provide a refund due to their cancellation policy despite the issues. Be weary booking this place, very mixed reviews very hit and miss. Customer service very poor by the Manager. The photos on the site I booked from didn’t overly represent what was found. Hopefully they learn from the feedback, I won’t be trying there again. Wasted money, very disappointing!

My room and bathroom were clean and tidy. Location was good. Communication was good. Price was good. My only issue was that it was loud. Every foot step from above, shower from another room, person talking next door, I could hear. I even had earplugs, noted that those people staying at the same time must have been elephants as the night before wasn't as loud but a light sleeper may have trouble. I'm not sure the property managers can really do much about it. They're old houses. It was still clean and tidy and that's the main thing.

Location was great and the view was nice but..The room was not clean. There was hair all in the sink, empty bottle of soap, the hair dryer didn’t work and couldn’t even have a cup of tea because the cups were filthy with what looked like mould.

Get what you pay for, wasn't 'modern' but relatively clean. Comfy beds, great location

The rooms were dirty and dusty. One of our rooms was with a private bathroom but this one was really outdated and unfortunately full of mold and old soapstains. The edges of the windows were also moldy. Stains in the carpet. Also there was no service at all, nobody came to collect or replace the towels, the building was all out of toilet paper after the first day and one of the toilets was clogged with diarhea. On a positive note, the location is amazing, right next to the sophia gardens and the Cardiff city center. Only the windows are all single glass so all the noise that comes from the city center and people that walk by might keep you up at night as you hear every step they take as if they were right next to your bed. Also one of our rooms didn't lock properly which gave a pretty unsafe feeling given the amount of rooms and people walking by. We were quite disappointed and would probably not come here again.

Someone broke into my room. It is an unsafe place to stay. Liked · I felt totally unsafe. No CCTV anywhere on the property and No bolt lock on door only a pin code. Someone went into my room without my permission during the day. Staff were unresponsive and it resulted in me moving to alternative accommodation. It has black mold everywhere, my room smelt of ciggerettes and it was very dirty. I was not refunded even though I did not stay in the room. VERY VERY awful experience. They had no record about what staff had been in and out of the property. They had no security. The property is on an unsafe street with homelessness and is next to what seems to be a half-way house. I can not express enough how terrible my experience was. Disliked · It was awful. Do not stay here unless you would sleep on the streets. It is that unsafe. It is a disaster waiting to happen and I did not stick around to be victim to such a place. I later received an email to say no staff had been in my room. Which means there was unauthorised access to my room that day, nothing was taken because all I left was a few items of clothing and toiletries. I had pulled my chair right up to the door before leaving. So you can only open the door by 1 foot and would need to wiggle your hand in to push the chair out of the way. However, upon my return the chair was out of the way of the door by about a meter. This is how I knew someone had been in my room. Anyway I write this review as a warning that you shouldn't stay at this property.

Nice, clean, close to the station (10 Min walk) but a few caveats. The entrance was unlocked and the shared bathrooms could easily have been accessible by random people from the outside. Shower water pressure was also poor and if you're a big guy, the shower is s tight fit! Comfy beds and a nice view of the stadium. Overall not bad for the price.

At first we had a problem with the check-in, but the staff (very nice and beautiful girls) settled everything very well. We liked everything, good location. Thanks

Great location and fair cost for what you get. Helpful staff have earned the extra star for a 3 star place.

Eventually a staff phoned me the next morning and moved me to a window room. I appreciated their quick response and it’s important in hospitality industry to let the customers feel you care 👍🏻 Thanks a lot 🙏🏻

Good location near the city centre. However I didn't find it that clean its quiet at night though. The bathroom wasn't that nice either but if you are looking for reasonable priced stay then here it is.

A good budget room. A great location. I had a couple of issues with my room, however they were sorted in an instant upon advising the cleaning staff. Great service!

Can't speak for couples and families, but for the single traveler like myself, it is ideal. Quiet location. A shot walking distance to shopping and many attractions in city centre. Clean. Affordable. Lovely place to stay.

I visited someone who stayed here for a few days and the room was quite big, with a kitchen and toilet/shower. All clean and well maintained. Right opposite the millenium stadium. Cheap bedsit.

Was load early hours around 2 onwards, was woken several times by other residents, other than that it was pretty satisfactory.

Sink was clogged, room was never cleaned during my stay of 4 nights. Towels never were replaced. Pillow smelt bad. I got ripped off in my opinion, having paid more than a hundred quid per night I was expecting at least an ok service and what I got was nothing. Stay away please.
