Booked the room for 2 nights. The neighborhood was horrible. The sidewalks were in horrible conditions, the other houses were run down and trash was everywhere on the streets. The place itself was pretty run down. With a dangerously ill fitting carpet on the stairs. The room was dirty and I don't wanna talk about the bathroom. There was no check in, because the manager had to do something somewhere else. My key was in a envelope outside the house. Booked immediately another hotel in Cardiff and left. I Don't recommend it.

It was very exciting to stay at this lovely B&B after reading such great reviews online! I was not disappointed and I feel it helped my business trip into Cardiff go smoothly and more comfortable. My favourite part about this stay was the breakfast. I opted for the upgraded menu options and I had to snap some photos of the food for my Insta because it was just so beautiful & delicious! Owners are quick to respond and make sure you're settled in okay and there are so many small touches that you just can't get from a big chain hotel. It was easy to find street parking right out front, the temperature of my room was pleasant, it had blackout curtains, and loads of comfy pillows just to name a few highlights.

When you've waited at the airport for 3 hours, sat through a 9.5 hour flight, walked 2 miles to the train station, rode the train for almost 3 hours and then walked another 20 minutes to your B&B dragging your suitcase behind you, you really really need a place you can rest, recuperate, and get a good night's sleep. This is not that place. Ty Rosa looks like a lovely place to stay, and it apparently was at one time. Their online presence paints a picture of an attractive, comfortable place to stay with friendly and attentive hosts. What we found was a cramped space badly in need of repairs, a bed that was so hard it hurt to sleep on, noisy surroundings due to people coming and going and climbing the stairs, and a host that couldn't be bothered to see us at all - we only met him by chance when we were leaving. When we arrived, he had taped an envelope to the door with the key to our room. There is no breakfast. He just recommends you walk to a nearby restaurant. Our room was so small that if one person was standing by the bed and the other wanted to get to the toilet, the first person would need to walk away and stand by the door so the other person could walk past the bed and access the toilet. I might add, the neighborhood is not so great. Many of the houses have junk and garbage cluttering up their front gardens. It's about a 40 minute walk to the city center, so you're not paying for location. We were going to stay for two more nights, but we cancelled that and stayed at the Travelodge instead. For the same price, we were right there at the train station, close to the restaurants downtown, and had a comfortable bed. If only we'd done that to start with.

Unclean and unkept is the summary. The neighborhood is unkept with trash all over the streets. The room was very small, amenities are old (bed squeaking, shower and bathroom needing renovations), not clean (sheets were not clean, had hair and spots on them, the towels were worn, the bathroom liquid soap had a black liquid residue coming out of it). The check in was very rushed and they were not even wearing a mask. Not a welcoming or warm experience at all. Given the price (about 70-90 pounds per night for a two person room) this accommodation is overpriced. I do not recommend it at all.

Just don't do it. The room was not clean, location not nice. Stayed only 1 out of 2 nights. There was definitely something in the ceiling crawling in the floorboards. It was a horrible experience.

Good value B&B in Cardiff. Friendly staff and great breakfast. Didn´t realise rooms were not en-suite when booking. There was some misunderstanding and didn´t get the room I had booked, but a smaller and cheaper one. It was tiny and noisy, so the next day I changed to a larger and nicer one. The place has potential, but it needs some urgent TLC in some areas (room doors can be hard to open and close, for example).

Organised a stag weekend for 10 and we stayed here for 2 nights. We were all happy with Ty Rosa. Its good value for money. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Breakfast is made to order and theres a menu, fry up and also options like mackerel and salmon. Its a 20 min walk to the centre. Lots of parking out front. We had booked 5 rooms in the main building so had use the downstairs dining/seating area after coming back late. Paul is a friendly and helpful host, Maddie gave us friendly and fast service at breakfast.

Cancel my room 2 days before I was staying with the reason my room was fluded from the room above, doesn't sound to bad but we were staying in the loft room. They refused to answer my phone calls or messages to confirm, and the message they sent where wrong not only the lie of the problem but the date were were staying they got wrong

Booked for a event in Cardiff over Easter weekend for son and girlie. Everything was coming up V expensive back in December - when we realised it was Easter- we found Ty Rosa - which offered the 3 nights required at a good price Every thing was good - clean friendly helpful, couldn't ask for more Room was a good size and with Wales still watching covid contact, no Buffet breakfast - but fridge and micro suppied in each room which kept people happy with their added tea and coffees. Transport good Lots to explore Happy People Thats all folks Bye Night Nothing More To say Thats it Folks

Good location. Accommodation clean and reasonably priced. Paul the owner was very friendly and helpful. We was able to get a parking space directly outside the B and B but it is on road public parking. We chose to not have the breakfast and went out so can't comment on the food.

We stayed here this weekend. Booked it all as there was a few of us. Rooms were spot on nice and clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely. Owners/staff very friendly and helpful. Easy access to Cardiff. Area not the best but for price and what you get you can't go wrong.

We stayed here for my stag do and found the owners incredibly welcoming. The rooms in the main house were lovely. The rooms in the annexe (a separate building across the road) were quite basic, but mine was clean and had tea/coffee and a kettle, and an iron/ironing board. The location is really good; the city centre and football stadium are both in easy walking distance. The best thing about the Ty Rosa though is the breakfast. They have a great breakfast menu and everything is cooked (perfectly) to order, using fantastic ingredients. Really enjoyed our stay. Thanks guys.
