We booked a room as we had a party in the location. The room was spacious and quiet. It was clean and tidy-just what we needed.

Glendale gets 5 stars for 3 reasons. 1. Tony. He's a proper people person. Lovely man. Impeccable manners and puts a real smile on your face. Thank you Tony. 2. Dinner. Proper Italian food. No surprise there. They just know what they're doing. 3. Its eclectic. Bored of identical hotels and hotel rooms? Treat yourself. Its this kind of place that is what going away is all about. Its a little rough around the edges, but it's like a classic car, or a favourite pair of jeans. You love it because of what it IS.

Lovely place to stay. We stayed for the weekend for a gig in Cardiff bay. Taxi’s trains, busses all accessible. Walk to the pier to clear your head as well. Lovely food and great management. Would be revisiting! Such a great weekend.

We stayed for the weekend, and found it a a lovely hotel to stay in. With big, comfortable and eclectic rooms. It is very Close to the train and bus stops, and walking distance to the pier. We would happily stay there again, if we go back to Cardiff.

Room was adequate. Food and service was very good. More restaraunt with rooms rather than hotel. If I needed to stay in Penarth again, then it would be my first choice.

Sat outside with our dog . Had a glass of wine on a windy wet Friday night. We were asked if we wanted the heaters on which was thoughtful thank you . Nice wine and average service .

Love this venue. Relaxing, vibrant, alive with hussle and bustle. Family run business full of love and passion for what they do. Love coming here after a nice walk on way home

This review is purely about the hotel - we didn't eat in the restaurant. I'm so surprised at all the positive reviews for this hotel.. I've stayed at some very budget hotels across the UK and Europe and this is by far the worst. We were told it was a "private bathroom" but we were given a key for a separate shower and toilet room that you have to cross the landing to get too.. no one wants to have to leave your room in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom.. outrageous they don't advertise this when booking, otherwise we wouldn't have booked. The room itself was hot, smelt bad, and generally dirty and dated. The bed was of very poor quality, we both woke up with bad backs. Nothing in the room was ok, everything looked like it was about to break any minute. Everything looked like and felt like it was from my grandma's house in the 1980's. Cannot believe they're charging £110 for one night... What a complete con. Go to the premier Inn in Cardiff centre.

Great location. Convenient to rail station shops and cafes. Comfortable rooms. And the smell from Italian cafe is very tempting.

Comfortable bed and nice room. Tv wouldn't hold any channel unless watching Netflix. Bathroom pretty shocking. No bath plug. Plaster on show with paint peeling. Towel rail fell off wall.

Why this hotel is lower stars is beyond me. People write it is dated! This hotel has lots off character original vintage features and really quirky decor. The beds are super comfy !!! The owner is a lovely man who has put his heart and soul in the business for 34 years! And the restaurant wow gave me a feeling I was in a court yard in Italy!!! Open brick work great ceiling decor and trees growing up the walls. Soft lighting and music was lovely. The food was just out this world, lovely chicken pate and linguine with chilli and crab meat simply delicious. If your after great food and something different then yr basic premiere inn decor go here, you won't be disappointed xxxx

Great hotel for just 2 star rated. Very accommodating owner (who will joke with you, got me a few times!) and staff. We booked last minute and stayed with our dogs but did also have to check out early due to the heatwave and they refunded us for our last unused night, which we were very thankful for.

Hotel is not responding to any emails or messages, sent either through booking platform or directly. Hotel looked lovely at first, but I became cautious after reviews of dated, insecure and uncomfortable rooms. Decided against staying. Decent communication would certainly help to instill trust in potential guests...!

Stayed for one night. It’s a bit tired but we had a great night’s sleep in a comfy bed. The bathroom looks the most tired with the shower requiring some manual mixing to get the temperature right. But for a fairly cheap room in a nice part of Cardiff, it was okay. We didn’t stay for breakfast as Penarth has lots of cafes to choose from (we went to Ocho lounge).

Chic, stylish, modern and family owned. Food is fantastic. Service is professional but friendly and fun. A true Italian restaurant. It gets busy so sometimes it can take a little longer to get served but it's honestly worth the wait. Great for a larger family meal or a table for two. Plenty of atmosphere and still has a buzz. Been there donkeys years but has moved with the times and still as good as ever. It's family owned and run so expect to see the owner running about and barking orders. His passion keeps it on point.

Hard to locate the hotel as the frontage says villa Napoli. I was the 3rd guest this eve who spent 20 mins going up and down the rd trying to locate the building. No one on reception the bar staff helped me check in. Room really nice decor. Comfy bed very spacious. Comfy bed let down by a dodgy loose door. Food is outstanding. Very popular, nice ambience and lovely helpful staff in the restaurant . I highly recommended eating here.

Fabulous food, great atmosphere, friendly staff and a comedian owner. Brilliant Not rushed having your food, plenty of time in between the courses. I can recommend the tempura King prawns and garlic and pesto linguine

😐 Staff was nice and polite but the food was average. Only the starters and desserts were nice but the mains were average at most and pretty expensive for its quality. Not many vegetarian or vegan options.
