The accommodation was very pleasant. It is nicely decorated in keeping with the style of the building. The room was comfortable with some original features which added to its ambience. We didn't use the breakfast room/lounge but it looked a pleasant environment with access to a fridge where you could label and keep your own food/drinks as required. There was also access to fresh milk too. We were impressed with the secure fob access to accommodation and the room. Whilst we enjoyed our stay there are a few points we feel need mentioning. Whilst access to the owners was available via phone, text or email we are probably a bit old fashioned and would have appreciated some face to face contact. Despite being informed that tv access to bbc iplayer was available we found this not to be the case and consequently found this to be very frustrating. We also found the heating system confusing. Despite there being a thermostat on the wall in the room it would appear that we could not alter it to suit our needs. This fortunately did not affect us too much but if the weather had been either hotter or colder it could have been an issue. The heated towel rail seemed to have a mind of its own being off one day and red hot the next. We're assuming it was centrally controlled? The accommodation is not far from the city centre and was an easy walk into the city which makes it ideal if you do not necessarily want to stay in the centre. Car parking is on street parking in nearby side streets which some may find concerning but we had no problem with this. We did find the surrounding area disappointing as it doesn't reflect the quality of this accommodation.

Writing so you could all save yourselfs the trouble and the money. It's a really bad crime area, dirty and unsafe (didn't know it before booking, see picture). The bathroom window doesn't have blinds so everyone can see in. Beds are old and broken. The owner is rude and aggressive! On the agent website it was listed as parking included, it is actually not. when mentioning that to the owner, so he could fix that, he started yelling and tried to kick us out although we didn't blame him for the mixup. However, after 5 min in the room seeing everything mentioned above we wanted to leave anyway. The owner tried to make us leave saying he already refunded us but wouldn't give us a confirmation for it. We asked him to send us a confirmation so we could leave, he yelled at us saying we don't deserve a parking and we're getting our money's worth (we paid £424 for just 2 nights-pretty expensive), we then realized he didn't refund us at all and just tried to make us leave and keep the money. It took a while but we managed to get the refund, then ended up finding a nice clean hotel, 7min from the city center, including private guarded parking and amazing service for 100£ less!!!

Impersonal and clinical. It is the first time in all my travels where I have not met my host. We referred to them as ghosts. Everything was via email (through their website) or WhatsApp. The room was spacious and nice, but the bed has seen better days (I think some of the slats are broken) . Although the room was clean there were cobwebs visible in bathroom and paint was peeling under the bay window. Although the area is convenient and on a busy bus route, the property appears to be in a bit of a seedy area of Cardiff situated on the border of Adamsville, the third highest crime area. The breakfast was reasonable, but croissants were not fresh. Again no one present to talk to. Heating in the Lounge /dining area only put on after a Whatsapp. It was 9° outside and not much more inside. We came in from the airport (what a mission). No clear directions given how to get there. So easy, take No 44 bus to Four Elms Road and it drops you off 100 meters from the the guest house. Only after the intervention of a friendly bus driver speaking to the owners on my phone did we get clear directions. Overall, not a disaster, just a lack of personal interaction and attention to detail

Beautifully appointed rooms and great common eating and dining area. The continental breakfasts were fantastic and a great start to each day. Check in/out was easy. It was also a very convenient location with the town centre and easy flat 20 minute walk.

Airy room with large comfortable bed. Street parking but didn't have any issues. Loved the DIY breakfast approach. Plenty of choice and made breakfast very chilled out.

The whole stay was very convenient. The self check-in system gave me flexibility to check-in on my own time. You can get in touch with the owners via WhatsApp. They were very accommodating when I requested breakfast after the cut-off time for requests. They were also very helpful when I needed to checkout earlier than planned. Really good service. Would stay again.

I have no complaints and will book again when I’m next in the area. While I note some reviews commenting on the location, it’s easy enough to not venture into the Adamsdown area if not being surrounded by wealth is considered an issue - but it’s worth braving for the likes of the Nata & Co Bakery. There’s free on street parking nearby, such as on Partridge Road. Self check-in / check-out made for easy arrival and exit. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The place is nice, clean, and updated. The service is exceptional, I did not have such a good experience in some of the 5 star hotels I stayed at! The bed was comfortable and the windows blocked most of the noise coming from the main road. The experience I had was just great 😃

Absolutely terrific accommodation. I chose to stay at Number One Hundred because of it's 'homey' feel while on a business trip. Upon arrival, Charlie happened to be there! He's so warm and welcoming, and he regaled me in the history of their family run business (I'm very nosey). Truly a fantastic building, a community feel at breakfast and all round 5 stars. Classic things I look for that delivered: Really comfy beds. Surprisingly close to the city, 20 minute walk or a very short bus. On Saturday's you can visit the Roath craft festival just 10 minutes walk (picked up some distilled Lion's Mane) Easily accessible with the fob and code if you lose it. Very nice tea and coffee in the rooms. Fantastic morning spread of confectionaries, peanut butter and fruit. Affordable! Anytime I'm in Cardiff, Number One Hundred will definitely be my first choice.

Vastly overpriced for what it was, and location was generally run-down and didn't feel safe. Parking is much more risky than the website implies, felt very vulnerable walking from the not-so-very-nearby street where I eventually managed to find a space to the accommodation. You're competing with the folks who live on those streets and it felt very uncomfortable.

The B&B was comfortable . The area is a bit dodgy. The breakfast is very repetative fine if you like cheese & ham everyday. Need to have bread to toast.

Our stay at Number One Hundred was wonderful. The room was nicely appointed, the bed comfy, the owners responsive and accommodating, and the staff thorough. There are several restaurants within walking distance, as was public transportation. Walkability was a plus for us.

Very straight forward check in with great comms from the hosts via email and WhatsApp. The rooms were spacious and well equipped. Nothing to fault at all and half the price of a generic chain hotel. Free WiFi too. The only slight negative is only a cold breakfast is available (for just £4!) which I passed on as my route to work passed a maccies....... Another plus for this location!

Very nice stay in a great location. Unbelievably good value. Clean and well appointed rooms with a nice breakfast safely bagged up to enjoy in your room. Really enjoyed my stay and will happily stay again when I am back in Cardiff.

Great BnB in Cardiff centre. Large room with original features and well appointed. Continental breakfast was a great addition at a very modest cost and the croissant to go was much appreciated. Excellent value for money

Great place. Only 2o min walk to city centre. Local area butchers, fresh produce, shops are just around the corner.

Amazing place to stay! Will be recommending. Breakfast was great and the room was stylish and comfortable. Everything was very clean. Very close to the city centre. Exactly as described.

Excellent value for money given it's proximity to the city centre. Breakfast offering was really good and the property is lovely and homely with some character. A great (and cheaper) alternative to using one of the city centre hotels - we'll be back. If anyone is concerned about finding a parking space don't be, plenty of none permit spaces on all the surrounding streets

Lovely B&B, stylish rooms with ensuite bathrooms and good communal facilities. Well located walk to the city centre and close to free parking streets. Great value for money as well with breakfast and amenities included. Would definitely stay again!

Spoke to the proprietors by phone a couple of times and they were really friendly and helpful. Check in was easy. We were upgraded for no extra charge which was a nice surprise. The room was large and nicely decorated but the bedside tables were a bit tired. The breakfast was bagged with help yourself drinks. There was access to a fridge, microwave and coffee machine. Can't complain for the price. Would recommend and would stay again.

my wife and I spent 2 nights, nice and comfortable rooms. But in the breakfast, pay attention to the deadlines, there were the packages of Nutella expired in 2020.

Very well refurbished house. Good sized rooms with modern ensuite. 15 mins walk or short bus ride to centre. Excellent communication from hosts. Electronic key system. Dining area with facilities for guest use. Highly recommended.

Upon booking for a SATURDAY night stay i arrived at the property to find that the booking was made for a Sunday, this was not what I had done on line. I contacted the owner upon arrival who was not very helpful and not very sympathetic to the fact. I then was told that I couldn't stay the night as they had no rooms, so I had to pay for another room at a hotel at a cost of 160, pound plus the loss of the room which they didn't even want to consider repaying. So all in all my experience has been poor and I certainly wouldn't recommend staying here .

We stayed for a week. Fantastic location close to the centre and easy access to the motorway. Lovely warm, welcoming house. Easy check in as long as you watch the short video explaining the process. Our rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Tea, coffee and biscuits in the room, great TV, best hairdryer I’ve ever had in a hotel! Breakfast was a good selection, parcelled ready for us to collect from the dining room every morning. Altogether it felt like a home away from home!!

If you’re like me and cannot be bothered to read the details, this is my review in simple…EXCELLENT. GO AHEAD & BOOK!! so the self checking was something new for me, but overall it was safe and convenient. Same for the lovely continental breakfast. It was packed individually and ready to go. Alternatively the large communal area was readily available for dining 24/7. Cleaning staff were pleasant & very friendly. Manager was only one call away so albeit self check in they were on call if needed them. VERY AFFORDABLE !! My favourite thing about this amazing B&B is the decor of the room and the cleanliness. I LOVE A CLEAN PLACE. everything was immaculate. the decor was modern with hint of vintage. Big compliment to the brains behind this. I will be giving them 9/9.5 out 10 for the following reasons: the small/single bed (which i presume is for kids) was very thin and not as firm as the other bed. Also bathroom needed an extra mat. Kettle in room need changing, it’s abit old. Apart from that everything is spot on. City Centre literally 15 mins walking distance. Alternative short hop on bus for less than £2. Taxi from city centre is roughly £6. Loads of free parking nearby B&B. Plus high street with loads of shops & takeaway on road behind B&B. Will be staying here again. Must say the neighbours’ property are a let down and does not compliment this immaculate place.
