Roath Pleasure Gardens

Tourist attraction Park Garden Tennis court Lawn bowls club

👍👍 Great gardens for a walk through and even a sit down with a coffee and to chat. Plenty of benches, a stream running through, birdsong and sunshine (some of the time) and plenty of flora and fauna to see all year round. I usually walk the full length of these gardens into Roath Park and back through... People often mention walk, park, lovely, gardens,

Great gardens for a walk through and even a sit down with a coffee and to chat. Plenty of benches, a stream running through, birdsong and sunshine (some of the time) and plenty of flora and fauna to see all year round. I usually walk the full length of these gardens into Roath Park and back through down to Waterloo Gardens, following the river all the way down. A nice long walk with plenty of fresh air.

In the mid winter sunlight washes away the gloom, and evergreen bushes scent the air with fragrant bloom. Fair water fast fills the ever winding brook, and eager runners pass a favourite nook. Not without reason these gardens offer pleasure, for within is a reward of green garlanded treasure. Sports like tennis and bowls can wait the spring, for now the walkers walk and birds sing.

Nice area of the park to walk around especially if you're a dog owner. A toilet block and somewhere to get a drink would benefit it greatly though.

The pleasure gardens in the central park, between roath park lake (with playground, lake, cafe, boats etc) and Roath Rec (gym equipment/ open field). The pleasure gardens has lots of beautiful flowers, a tennis court, bowls, basketball and a river running alongside. It also has public toilets. Dogs are not supposed to be off lead here, but there's always one or two rubbing around off their lead. The park also closes at night.

The pleasure gardens are lovely! But I am disabled & have a key 4 disabled toilets When I got over 2 the toilets they were all closed! I tried the disabled one & key worked but there was a padlock further up the door so no one could open.it! This is unacceptable & was 1st time I was going 2 use the disabled key 🤔🤔

Always a lovely, relaxing place to visit. Loads of old trees and beautiful plants. A stream to sit and watch and if you prefer something a little more energetic, there's a basketball area, tennis courts and bowling.

Lovely well maintained garden, with bowling greens, basketball and tennis courts. Popular with dog walkers and families. It has a little stream running through, ideal for a little walk for toddlers, or pinic with the family.
