Sensational views over the Bristol Channel. You can see the Prince of Wales crossing, Flat Holm, Steep Holm, Cardiff and Penarth, and in the opposite direction you can see Pen Y Fan, Corn Ddu and Cribyn, Eglwysilan, Mynydd Meio, Nantgarw, Old Smokey in Llanwonno and Penrhys. Such a gem of a mountain and you can pop into a well deserved pint in the Gwylod Y Garth pub.

Me,my husband and our two dogs had a lovely time walking to the hilltop. It was quite cloudy but sunny 😎. There were people walking and hiking and still not a busy place if you want a quiet place for hiking in a day. On the top it is so breezy but lovely.πŸƒπŸƒπŸƒπŸƒπŸŽπŸŽπŸŽ

Great place for a day out. Walking or cycling as I did. You can see all of South Wales up there. If you drive you can park on the village road and walk up but be warned the road is very narrow.

The highest and best place in Cardiff, some great views would highly recommend parking by gwaelod y Garth school and walking through the pines (forest) Some breath taking views from the top.

Very pretty view and an easy little hike. Lots of cows and sheep on the way to the top.

Highly worth a visit. Just 20 minute walk up path from Pentyrch end of Mountain Road takes you to the summit with it's fantastic 360 degree views. Even the Brecon beacons and Somerset are visible. Truly beautiful place with interesting flora and fauna. Topped by 4 ancient burial mounds for the history buffs. Hard to believe it just minutes from a major city.

One of the quietest days on this mountain for a long time. I say mountain because today I made a point of checking my altimeter at the trig point, and it gave me 106 Mt. So it is the closest mountain to the city. What a wonderful place we live in. One thing I have to say, love to see all the new walker's out on the Welsh hills and mountains. Please take your rubbish home with you and dogs pop. Don't spoil what we have on our doorstep.

Spectacular views from the top over to Cardiff, the Brecon Beacons, very limited parking unless you park in the villages at the bottom Pentyrch and walk up, but there is a small layby for 3 cars so you don't have to walk up from the village.

Such a fantastic view from this place. You can see all the way to the Brecons in one direction and Cardiff Bay and beyond in the other.

β€œIt’s note a heel. It’s a moan ton.” Met a hilarious Welsh man on our hike up to the top. He’d been hiking up here for years from the north. Never seen the sign identifying it as Garth Hill. He actually said he always thought it was a mountain. So funny. Straight out of the movie.

A very popular walking destination from various points in the local area. Different tracks can make the climb hard or relatively easy and you will be rewarded with great views of the coast and inland.

Spectacular views on top but I crossed the lip of a hill and found a herd of cows with no fence between us.

Great views of Cardiff and surrounding counties. Can see across to Exmoor and the Brecon Beacons when clear. Some good mountain biking tracks around the back through the woods, but be careful of walkers! Can get very busy especially during local lockdowns as it's the only hill(mountain?) In Cardiff. The Garth pub on the a470 side is excellent.

Perfect site for a short hike and great 360 views. You can park nearby and either go straight up the mountain or take a huge variety of paths that lead across the mountain or round the fields below to explore the surrounding area. Watch out for the waterfall running down the side and take in the views from every angle of Cardiff and South Wales.
