Very disappointed with the response from the Plymouth in regards to my resent feed back. Lack of items again available on the menu, this wasn't the first time this had happened. The portion size for the price of this food is not good enough ,£16.95 for the below picture I had not touched this at all. The response I had back from the Plymouth left me speechless to be honest, there were 3 of us that had booked in for food that night and not one of us were satisfied with the overall experience not to mention the response from management that they didn’t agree with any of our comments and said that the below picture was value for money. Had this been dealt with differently I would not of written this review.

Great pub and incredibly friendly staff. Visited this place whilst on Holiday and it had all the trademarks of a Plymouth pub including beers and ciders from Devon. Parking is around the rear of the pub and you must register your vehicle when you arrive. Food came out swiftly and tasted great. Reasonable prices and very filling. @momentsofoutdoors for more

So this was our second visit - this time to enjoy a Sunday roast. She had the vegetarian option which was a candied roast consisting of rice, beetroot and seeds. I had the pork belly. Both dishes came with a generous medley of roasted and steamed vegetables. Despite the large plates of food I thought the serving of pork was undersized for the price. Having said that the service was faultless and the atmosphere very warm and agreeable. A charming place to have Sunday dinner.

One thing that lives rent free in my head was the scene in one of the episodes in ‘Come Dine with Me’, where the host fully shoves the entire whisk in his mouth, sucking the chocolate out of it. Then used that said whisk to continue mixing the batter. I will never go for a meal in that contestant’s house but I will gladly stay for a meal in the Plymouth Arms. Their three meat roast is not quite to shout for (especially with what you are paying) but what they knocked out of the park is their all day menu, add that with their posh sauces, dedicated staff and you got yourself a banger of a meal and an experience that will live rent free in your head.

Nice little pub/restaurant in historic surroundings on the outskirts of Cardiff, varied menu , huge beer garden, dog friendly too , first visit here and decided on the foresti're chicken breast, was baked in a small pan and covered in streaky bacon , wild mushrooms in a garlic sauce with skin on fries . For dessert we went for the bramley apple , blackcurrant and cherry crumble with creamy custard . If you like your history and a nice meal to follow up then this is the place for you 👍

It's the best Sunday roast I've ever had.. I went for the slow cooked pork belly, and it was absolutely delicious.. the meat was simply just melting in my mouth, the crackling was crispy, the Yorkshire pudding, potatoes, and vegetables were as good as you could expect from a proper restaurant. No complaints at all from me. Hubby had fillet sea bass and king prawns, served with baby potatoes, peas, broccoli, and a creamy white wine sauce and he was content with everything. Definitely will be my go-to place for Sunday roast.

Really disappointing experience for Sunday lunch. Firstly the positives, a beautiful area and a really nice place to relax, staff were polite if not particularly attentive. 3 of us ordered lunch, my daughter was missing half of her chicken, when it was brought out, no apology. My partners chicken was inedible due to being so dry. No parsnips on any meal, asked and we were told they don't have any. Horseradish sauce was a already half used jar with no indication when it was open. Potatoes had been left under a heat lamp and were very dry. Menu says 'as much gravy as you like' but no gravy was given and had to ask for this too, a tiny pot was provided. 1 order of the three meat lunch and the meat portions were tiny. One small chicken leg (overcooked), really small slice of beef and pork (both tasted good but so small). By the time all the questions were answered and the chicken was replaced our meals were lukewarm. Not a single person asked how the food was and we got the impression this was deliberate. Really frustrating lunch that cost £75 for three of us with soft drinks.

My first time here in many years. Over recent times I think pub grub has become very bland and you see the same old options on the menu. Good choice of food available on menu. Food was very good! Plates were warmed and food was hot (a pet peeve of mine, hate lukewarm food). Really enjoyed my meal. Lovely ambience and this was a Tuesday evening. We will be back! Especially looking forward to warmer weather to take advantage of the beer garden.

Very well presented meals Unfortunately the food was average at best. What made it worse was the disgusting service we received from the staff. The one member of staff long brown hair was nothing short of rude and made it quite clear she saw us as an invonvenience. Not even a goodbye and thank you on the way out .Customer service training is needed all round.

First time here since the refurbishment, Staff are friendly, atmosphere is ok, we didn’t have to wait long for food to arrive to the table but wasn’t warned how hot the handle was for the chicken skewers and ended up burning my hand. Staff didn’t come and check how the food was which is standard in any restaurant, most of the food was warm,Presentation a lot better than the taste. Would try again but we did book early so maybe they were just getting into the flow of the shift?

What a lovely pub so welcoming and comfortable. From the start we were looked after by the staff ...lovely quiet table beautifully set with glassware and cutlery. Our waiter was so attentive (I'm so sorry I didn't get his name) and really made sure one of our group who is dairy and gluten intolerant was really cared for. Meals were amazing...freshly cooked and good portion sizes. We were never under pressure to order or leave. Highly recommend

First time visit since the refurbishment and new menu. Really impressed! Smaller menu but better quality dishes on offer. Comfortable surroundings and brighter decor. Prices have increased but so has the quality of food. Good atmosphere and helpful friendly wait staff.

Lovely brunette lady(30s or early 40s) behind the bar was friendly , helpful and attentive throughout, found us a better table in the bar despite our original table still being occupied by late stayers …. kept us updated despite clearly a busy day! Top service top food . Wanted to thank the bar lady before leaving as she’d been so helpful and lovely with the children in our party but had left for the day , she had clearly a lot to deal with and still she had made the afternoon for us

We met up with relations to have a meal before the Christmas festivities. We were sat at a great location in front of a roaring fire. The service was excellent considering how busy they were. The food was delicious. The only downside was a live act that started playing halfway way through our meal, this was too loud and prevented any further conversation. However, we do intend returning.

We came for Fathers Day and the food and menu was excellent. Our waitress really looked after us, and was fabulous throughout. Would highly recommend as a great, comfortable place to eat and drink, with any type of group.

Nice food but very expensive! The vegetarian option was too small, as if it was a child's portion

The food was delicious and our steaks were cooked to perfection. Everything was first class and the service was excellent. Our waitress, Maddie, couldn’t do enough for us and explained everything when we queried anything. The festive menu was delightful and the T-bone steaks were stunning. The Christmas decorations throughout were beautiful and the atmosphere was warm and cosy. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Look forward to coming again very soon.

Lovely beer garden and a varied menu. This place is hidden in the heart of St Fagans and is worth a visit, especially on a summer's day. The garden is lovely, with plenty of space, and the food and drink menu has something to offer for everyone . We got away without booking a table, but I can imagine it gets busy on occasion. The restaurant inside looked lovely, too. A nice setting for an evening meal with friends and family.

We were a party of 18 having a Christmas gathering 18:00 - 10:30 on Saturday 17/12. The staff were all very helpful and attentive. The lady who served us especially so even providing lessons to a junior member on which utensils should be used for which dish. The food was agreed by all to be very good and many who now live away recalled how they used to frequent the pub when younger. A delightful evening!

The service was very good and surprisingly quick given how busy it was. The atmosphere was lovely and the prices were reasonable. However the food wasn't entirely fresh; the chicken was quite dry and the chips were rock solid which was a little disappointing... But all in all a very good experience, would definitely recommend

Not too impressed with the chicken on sourdough sandwich I ordered for lunch. Both the bread and the chicken were dry and stale tasting. The chips were nice though, as were the other 4 meals ordered. The Eton Mess dessert was nice except it was smothered in Pistachio nuts. We sat outside and although you can't control the weather, there was an incident when the very large umbrella on our table, blew away. My young Grandson's reflexes saved a lady on the next table from what could have been a nasty crack on the head. My son had momentarily taken his foot off the base of the umbrella and after the incident realised it hadn't been weighted down with water/sand, making it totally unfit for purpose. Every person in the garden reacted in horror and yet not one member of staff even glanced out. I find it hard to believe they didn't hear the rumpus it caused. 😒 Other than that, when we arrived, the very mucky table was quickly wiped when staff were asked. Service was timely, considering how busy it was and tables were quickly cleared as customers left. Dogs are welcome and the 5 or 6 there, including ours, were well behaved and sociable. The untasty sandwich and fly-away umbrella were unfortunate and wouldn't stop me returning to this lovely old pub. I would suggest filling the weights on the umbrella stands though...

Great pub with plenty of outdoor seating. Very popular due to it’s rotational menu always being on point no matter the season.

Welcoming and friendly staff. Really happy to see a change of management and staff. There was no wait at the bar, the drinks were perfect and the chips were hot. Very happy customer 😀

My friend and I took our wives to this place on Saturday, the service was amazing, the lady put up with my mates loudness and inability to string a sentence together. The smell as soon as you enter was amazing I loved it and the old rustic feel to the place made it a fine dining experience, will be going back for sure.

Came for a meal late one evening with family after a takeaway had let us down. Turned out to be a blessing in disguise as this place was a gem. Top class pub food, i had the pork not only was it presented beautifully but it tasted amazing. Service was great, provided us recommendations and welcomed the dogs.

Wonderful environment, not your usual pub food. Will admit the hunter chicken I had isn’t your usual. Gutted with the creme brûlée as it’s not like it states on the website, they do either a cherry or apricot and it changes daily, no plain ones. Very very limited on anything gluten free. I just suffered with it for a lovely meal
