What a wonderful experience! The food was excellent but the service is what turn our evening from good to great! Thank you Lewis for your natural charisma, we really enjoyed having you as our waiter.

1.BBQ chicken stack absolutely disappointed , chicken taste good but burnt and taste greasy ( either kitchen oil cooker might need proper clean daily or training of cook) 2.Calamari strip is same colour to the chicken. My wife loves chips but she can’t even eat it. Overall seem over cooked. 3.Salad bar … there’s no difference serve by staff or self service. Saliva still in the air 🤣🤣while everyone in queue. 4.my wife got a melted ice cream as dessert… speechless! 5. Charge full price instead of 2 course meal. be aware of when you pay your bill. 😡 😡 Maybe what you pay what you get. Am I fussy or it is what is it? 🤭🤥 Like others said Cwnbran harvester is better choice.

What a great experience! Tanya, we absolutely LOVE you!!! Tanya made us feel the most welcome out of any restaurant I have EVER been 2! I would go again just for her!!! Food was was lovely, we ordered off the festive menu! No long waits, nice and clean.

Seems like a nice place, but the service is extremely slow. Food is just sat under the heat lamp, while staff wander around looking lost and stressed, it has taken 83 minutes for us to get our food. The staff seem incompetent/undertrained, it is a small floor and less than half capacity, but they seem to struggle to keep up. The food was okay, just small portions

No heating, we, along with 90% of diners, ate in coats! Staff were lovely and apologetic however we drove 20 miles, we had booked, there was no mention of heating issues but staff said it's been going on for 3 weeks! Salad food was lovely, the rest was very poor, veg was cold inside, very poor

Quite possibly one of the best cafés I have ever been to. The staff were absolutely lovely and accommodating towards us (we are a family of six) and the food we were served was excellent. Will definitely be returning if ever possible.

Really our visit to the harvester today, me and my mates booked a table for half past 10 and stopped by for breakfast before we went on our holiday to porthcawl. We received a very friendly welcome by the staff and the manager seated us right away, we had a little bit of wait for our food but let me tell you, it was well worth the wait, it was absolutely delicious, everything was cooked to an incredible standard and will be recommending to my friends and family. Our server Leah was absolutely incredible and very friendly

Had a great meal here with awesome service from the staff. Parking right outside the door also disabled. The food was excellent, really tasty burger with dirty sweet potato fries with jalapeños. Also southern Cajun chicken in a wrap covered with sweet onion sauce. The service was really great and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

Half decent welcome. Long wait to be served. Espresso was just black coffee in a small cup. No flexibility with menu, hence healthy option like scrambled eggs, omelettes were not available. Great menu if your looking to add heart disease to your list of must haves. Bacon egg sausage roll was presented nicely however lacked taste. Price was ok, however wouldn’t ever return.

Had the most amazing meal today and I had Mac and cheese and no lie it was the best I’ve ever had, absolutely stunning. It was that nice I had to ask what chef made it and her name is Amelia so if any of you have Mac and cheese make sure you ask for her to make it 🤤😁 and the service from Leah and the other waitresses was Amazing to 👌👌👌

Lewis our server was super friendly and very good at his job. Lovely man. Our food was lovely. The restaurant was a little bit chilly but apart from that had a lovely time with my daughter, it's our second visit this week.

We were seated quickly. Our waiter Lewis was polite, friendly and very helpful. Making us feel like nothing was too much trouble.

On arrival was welcomed by friendly female member of staff which took me to my seat. My server was Lewis who was very welcoming and attentive. Catered for all my needs and remained friendly throughout. Making me feel welcome. The food was on point, as had the starter the ultimate mixed grill which was very nice.

Leah was amazing!! One of the best waitresses I've ever had - the world needs more Leah's out there. Is there a way I can get a message to her privately please?

Went here after a little shopping spree and was a lityle apprehensive due to Covid restrictions. On Entry Excellent Service! Short waiting time and the food was great. All table service but the staff are wonderful. Paul and Michy Cardiff.

I hadn't been into a Harvester in years and was very pleasantly surprised. Staff were great, I had a party of 5 children & 2 adults (the adults were seated separately which was great for us). The children were looked after, & Leah (member of staff) so patient with them she was great..... & she also helped me with my blue light card app to allow a discount on the meal! Food was good, the venue was clean & nicely presented....all in all it got the thumbs up from us! Well done all! We will definately be back!👍

Great food & very friendly staff. We came here while visiting Newport for a couple of days and was not disappointed. Our server Lewis couldn't do enough for us & the chef was excellent too. Much better service than the Harvester back home in the Midlands. Keep up the good work!

Thought we would treat ourselves to a breakfast at this Harvester after recently moving to the area. Excellent menu choice, really good quality ingredients and so much food that we couldnt eat for two days afterwards. Excellent service from the waiter and really good value for money at £24 for everything. What more could you ask for??

LEAH!!! In the words of Tina Turner…. was simply the best!!!! Better than all the rest! My wife and I were really impressed by the level of service Leah offered us. Nothing was too much of a problem. I would have to say she was excellent and if I was looking to make a promotion within the restaurant I would put Leah right at the top of the list. I tried something new and had the Chicken and Bacon waffle, it was delicious I would certainly have it again. My wife had a burger. She really enjoyed that too. The food and Leah’s service combined put the experience in my top 3 Harvester visits ever, having been to many branches many times. Leah really was superb. Thank you Leah and well done! You were a star ⭐️

I pre-booked via the Harvester website which was great. Myself and my family (a total of 5) arrived and were promptly shown to our seats and drinks orders taken. The waitress returned within a reasonable time to take our food orders and was helpful and knowledgeable however I believe she may also have been coming to the end of her shift which was when our experience changed for the worst. First off there wasn't enough cutlery for our party but despite asking for more it didn't arrive and I had to request again with a different staff member. Our starters were brought followed to our main course but I had to return my fries as they were the wrong ones. Another of our party had ordered a mixed grill with the steak cooked medium-well but it was delivered over done with a texture of rubber. When we finished our mains we wanted to order desert but no-one attended to us so my wife went looking for a staff member. We were provided with the desert menus but ended leaving without any due to none of the deserts we wanted being available. My wife and I previously attended this restaurant about a month ago at a similar time and on that occasion both the food and service were excellent so I don't believe our experience last night was the norm.

Visited just after Christmas, decided to call in as the day was filthy. Decided on the Festive Christmas Dinner which was a lovely meal, only spoilt by the excuse for roast potatoes that were on my plate. Small, soft and not crispy at all. If they were trying to not give the impression of a mass produced product, it didn't work unfortunately. Had to wait 20 minutes as I assume they had to heat up the whole thing before serving. My alcoholic free cider was good though, a bit pricey at £4.29 but went down well.

Staff were friendly, there was fast service, and the salad bar was fresh and tasty. That's as good as it gets, unfortunately. Our meals looked well presented and yummy. But in reality, the burger bun was solid, and the burger meat was bouncy and mostly inedible. The fish was full of bones, oily and bland, the mushy peas tasted of nothing, and there were hardly any chips. The kids burger seemed to go down well with my son despite the burger being just bun and meat, no salad or sauce, or even cheese. My daughters pizza was nearly impossible to cut and definitely a microwave pizza. I'm quite disappointed we wasted money here, we won't be returning. Also, since harvester have replied to say they "are sure there are no bones," I have included my plate with the first 5 bones. Thereafter, I tried to eat more food and pulled out several more bones, either into a tissue or onto my plate. I tapped out at a quarter way through the fish as it became a chore to eat.

Excellent customer service every time! Martin especially goes the extra mile! All staff are always very polite and efficient, tasty food from the chef and super clean restaurant! After explaining my love for the thousand island dressing and the lack of success trying to find it in shops, Martin even gave me some to take home free of charge! Thank you :)

We had a family birthday meal with 16 people. The staff were incredible, service was fantastic. The food was delicious. Nothing was too much trouble, even to the point if bringing out both birthday cakes at separate times. The staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. Definitely service with a smile. We always go to this harvester, and highly recommend it. The manager was fantastic. X

A few minor issues with the meal.. sauce came late with the steak, treacle pudding had been over-microwaved.. but we didn't even complain (and I can assure you I usually would) because our server Harrison was absolutely AMAZING.. friendly without being over friendly.. Just such a warm, lovely young man. I even told the Manager about him as I was so impressed!!

Food was lovely, we enjoyed the lunchtime menu (2 courses for £11.50) the menu was small as expected portions were good sizes. Staff were a little over friendly calling members of the party babe and love frequently- this is a personal thing that I just don't like.

Always friendly and welcoming staff when we visit. Food is usually pretty quick and decent value. Never seem to be able to add email offers to the app though, and have to get the waiter/ress to do the bill.

Just popped in to get a Too Good To Go from Harvester and we were treated to 4 items from their new menu(including a dessert!) All for free and all were amazing. Even got asked if we wanted a coke or lemonade to go with it. We go here once a month anyway but this was an above-and-beyond experience. Thanks guys

If I could give No stars… I would!! Service and customer relations have gone down hill in this particular Harvester (only 2 male staff/servers there that are actually nice and seem to want to be there and do their job properly). When we first arrived and were seated we were put on a table for 8 and there was only 4 of us, when asked if we could move to a smaller table as there was too many seats for us and the table was too big, plus we couldn’t get past a pram and a larger family that were sat close to us, we were told NO and that the numerous table of 4’s left were already booked?!?! I suggested maybe 4 other customers that have booked in after us who were not already there yet could go on the table for 8 then instead of us?!?! The server didn’t seem to understand what I was suggesting though, guess it was a little to hard for her to understand maybe?!?! We had 2 young female staff in total talk to me and my husband in a rude manner so I would suggest better staff training in “social interaction with customers” as this made us leave despite booking in advance for a Father’s day lunch with our children. Also, There is NEVER chicken skewers prepped and ready despite being on the menu…. Why have them on the menu?!?! The manager I spoke to was very apologetic about the whole situation and actually offered us one of the tables that one of the rude server’s said were apparently booked for other people in a group of 4, that we weren’t originally allowed, but we declined as we felt uncomfortable. Won’t be back to this Harvester again which is a shame as me and my husband would go here every week on our day off work.

Good variety in food and salad bar. Tasty too! Customer service was friendly . However, it was really short staffed at a busy time. After two hours, we hadn't received our main. And we had to ask to have our order taken an hour in. I didn't mind as I had nowhere to be afterwards; however if you're looking for a place to eat on a time limit, this maybe isn't the place for you

Service was friendly food was good & hot . It got busy so was difficult to get our server, ok I didn't mind waiting what annoyed me was (I am assuming) two supervisors or management behind our table stand & have a most enjoyable discussion as if they were not at work for the whole of our 2+ hour meal !! As I said it was busy why didn't they jump to clear tables or attend to customers, take payments etc ? I was annoyed on behalf of the staff & they must get annoyed if this is a regular occurrence. The service industry relies on happy customers returning . When I did the job when it got busy as supervisors/management we stepped in & supported the team . We also didn't stand within sight or earshot of customers having such an animated discussion !

Absolutely exemplary service from the staff (tall guy, spiky hair...Lewis?) Seemed to be a real human being, rather than the robots some hospitality staff can become. Ordered the Ultimate Mixed Grill and enjoyed every bite!! My heartiest congratulations to the chefs for making such an amazing meal in such hot and humid conditions!! Will definitely visit again!!
