Absolutely stunning… Large, beautiful waterfall with free parking too (if you can’t get in the main car park you can park in the overflow for £5). There’s also a free petting zoo right at the start which was lovely (they ask for a donation if you can). The walk was really steep (definitely not buggy friendly) with tall steps and a bridge over the river too. Brilliant for a few hours.

Everything about this wonderful landmark has already been said. Going downhill from the car park is a slow steady trek as it is very slippery when wet, but worth taking your time for the end view! Truly a sight worth seeing.

Beautiful water-falls, nice trek to reach it & well worth the efforts. The trek is fairly steep and the path can be very slippery especially after even mild rainfall. Might be a good idea to have some good shoes & a climbing aid (if having bad knees or hips)... need to be able to spend sometime to appreciate the falls when you reach there...

Very interesting place to visit. The waterfall itself is very close to the car park and only about 10-15 minute walk. Great for kids who like exploring and adults alike😉 you can walk behind the waterfall and I am sure it is even more amazing if there is more water “creating” the waterfall (probably after some good few days of rainfall). Spent there more than we thought we would (too many photo opportunities😉) and probably one of the hidden gems (as the three waterfalls are quite close). Will be going back again.

Gorgeous waterfall, the walk down was quite easy, just a little steep so not suitable for all. We were able to walk behind the waterfall which was great, and quite easy to do. Would definitely recommend you visit if you're in the area and looking for a good walk with a view

Beautiful place to visit. Make sure to wear sturdy shoes. Gravel path with smooth rocks and some wooden steep steps that can be slippery. Unsure whether the carpark was a paid for or not. There’s a non NT sign outside it saying £5 but with it being NT I would have expected a pay machine and it to be free for members so we took the risk and not pay (not that we knew where to pay!) Waterfalls were stunning, stood underneath and felt so magical!

It's an amazing place to visit alone or with friends and family, short lovely hike down to the waterfall. The sound and smell is just so serene. A great place to meditate. There is a cafe as well for those not carrying stuff

Absolutely stunning waterfall. Nice "easy" walk down from the car park, path was gravelled in places so was a bit slippery. 15 minute walk from car park to waterfall. Not buggy friendly. Lots of steps.

Batman’s cave is a perfect place to enjoy nature. Beautiful paths to walk, fresh air to breathe, waterfall to hear. You can get wet and muddy, but it is worth it. There is a car park on the top of the hill, and within a few minutes walk through the forest, you will be there. Is it an interesting experience waking behind the waterfall.

Couple good little walks here with parking available. There is also an overflow carpark that does require payment and can be paid at the burger van/snack bar which is there. To access the waterfall you will need to walk down a steep incline which can prove difficult for some when coming back up so I would advise suitable footwear! (Not open-toed shoes). You can also walk round/behind the falling water of the larger waterfall!

I've been here twice and it's a personal favourite of mine! There is a national trust car park that you can find on Google maps and also a overflow field which you can pay £5 for the day, this is by the burger van where you can also grab a hot drink, head down towards the burger van and through the gate and it's a straight forward trail to the falls, however it's very muddy and steep so not suitable for all, although it's a short walk, be prepared to get wet if you want to go behind the falls and be sure to take your shoes off and enjoy the lovely water!

STUNNING! I Came here in February, the carpark was pretty much empty. Its about a Ten minute walk down, pretty steep, but nothing serious. The waterfall was bursting after alot of rainfall. I walked behind, no one else did I'd grade it a 1/5 difficulty so don't be afraid to go behind its amazing. I sat there for around 30 minutes, felt like I was in a different world. The foot paths are well made and although it's always best to wear boots on wellies, other folk were in trainers. The way back up is pretty steep but it's hardly climbing everest and if your wet you'll want to take your coat of by the time you get back to the top. Can't wait to come back. I can imagine it gets horrificly busy in spring and summer so get down there 6AM.

The falls were easy to find and well worth visiting, whilst I was there it was quite busy with visitors of all ages. What goes down must come back up and it’s a pretty steep climb back up to the car park. I had a sit down to catch my breath and a burger from the van before visiting the small holding which is free to enter. Lots of animals to see which were quite happy to soak up a fuss. The lovely lady owner shows you around and lets you feed them for free. I was more than happy to give a donation as I really enjoyed my visit.

There is a free parking area for cars at the top of the Waterfall which is close to a farm with animals and alpaca. To access the waterfall follow the path. Its free to access and we were very lucky we were the only people there. Access down the footpath some areas rocky, muddy and slippery so make sure you have good footwear. Once you get to the bottom it is an amazing place just magical. The waterfall is accessible to go behind it but again be careful going up via the rocks or the path. The children and family loved the waterfall as it was so magical and being there alone you were able to appreciate nature, the surrounding and the waterfall crashing against the rocks and water pool at bottom. A must visit if you are visiting Breacon Beacon. When leaving the path to get out via googles maps does take you down some narrow roads believe me follow it and try not to miss the directions. It does get you out even though I for one thought where is google maps taking me!! Enjoy what a great place on our doorstep. Not a place for pushchairs or wheelchairs.

Worth a hike down the slightly loose topped path so be careful. The main falls are great and with sun out made for lovely pictures. The smaller falls were also good.. The burger van was open on our return and recommended is the cheese burger.

Henryd Falls, also known as Rhaeadr Henrhyd, is located in the Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales. It is the tallest waterfall in South Wales, with a drop of approximately 27 meters (88 feet). The falls are situated near the village of Coelbren and are accessed via a picturesque walking trail through lush woodland. Henryd Falls gained popularity after being featured in the Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises," where it served as the entrance to the Batcave. The area surrounding the falls offers stunning natural scenery, making it a popular destination for hikers

A lovely morning walking to the water falls. Honour the little ruby cavalier king Charles spaniel loved the walk and all the new smells. Sensational standing behind the main water fall. Free to visit and park. Purchased hot coffee and nibbles on the way out

Great place to visit! No tickets required, park and walk. Filmed as the Batcave in the Dark Night Trilogy and is a must for fans!!! Trail down to Hendrhyd Falls is muddy, can be slippery following rain fall. Steps built into the mud can also be steep. Wooden steps are steep, bridge on the trail is well built. Refreshments to purchase from the burger bar near the free to use car park. There is additional Overflow Parking, on private grounds at £5 all day. Owners have built an animal sanctuary with free access, donations go to animal feed and care costs.

Beautiful! Well worth a visit! We came here about 10am on a friday and got into the free NT car park (there is an overflow where you pay £5 at the burger van!). It's a lovely walk downhill to the waterfall. Not particularly easy for those unstable or visually impaired but doable if you take your time (lots more doable than other waterfalls in the area!) it's less than a mile round trip to the falls as well! It's lovely and quiet until about 12 when more people appear. Wish I'd brought a towel as the water is so clear and inviting! You can wall behind the waterfall and it's a tad more accessible than the nearby Eira which you can also walk behind. Well worth a trip! No toilets though!

What a beautiful place this is, went up for a walk and ended up doing 7 miles. Cracking place to go if you want to escape the busy world. The waterfall was used in the Batman movie. Some of the walks are a little tricky with little ones, so be prepared, as some of the bankings along the river are very high and steep.

Nice little petting farm near the car park entrance. The falls are to the left. Please leave a donation if you can afford it. Pathways to the back of the falls can be very muddy. Be careful if you want a photo behind the falls.

We thoroughly enjoyed our walk in late February. We were 4 adults and 2 kids, it was a clear day but lil muddy. Wear proper boots for a good grip. Path/track near to the waterfall is a bit tricky so be very careful. A nearby car park is available.

Very nice waterfall and only 15-20 mins downhill walk from the car park . Also you can go behind the waterfall and take some nice pictures. Be careful about the falling rocks and coming back up via the water though . While heading back to the car park , you can avoid the hill by coming out on the main road and walking back to the car park . Definitely worth a visit !!

Beautiful waterfall, great photo opportunities. You can walk in behind the waterfall which is a really great experience but you will get wet! That's half the fun of it 😀 the car park has a donation box. There is also a trailer cafe, I've been twice now though and not seen it open so take food and drinks. You can go on from the waterfall, following the trails for a longer walk.

Nice, short trek away from the car park. Not too difficult unless it's been raining. We even saw some families with kids in strollers do it! The waterfall itself didn't have much water the day we went, but that made it possible to go behind it without much trouble. There is a farm alongside the car park, that you can visit and interact with the animals (alpacas, horses, pigs, pygmy goats, etc.) - friendly farmer and fun for kids!

Henrhyd Falls is a beautiful waterfall. We stopped here for a bit to take the dog for a walk. It wasn’t very busy. It has been raining so the path was a bit damp but not too muddy. If you are brave enough you can even venture down and walk behind the waterfall. Well worth stopping and visiting if you are in the are!

Absolutely stunning, especially when there's been lots of rain! Highest drop in South Wales. You can walk behind the waterfall. It's owned by National Trust, so we assumed parking is free for members. The walk is about 15 minutes from the car park.

Visited the falls midweek, car park only small but there is another overflow carpark but charges £5. Falls are nice to visit but steep decline to see them, muddy route so wear walking shoes. There are other walks from the falls aswell. Van selling coffee etc at the entrance.

After heavy rainfall the waterfall was spectacular. Short walk from car park but steep and slippery, not too bad going down but hard work coming back up (for a 60+ lady 😉). Be worth a return visit on a drier sunnier day but the waterfall itself would be less full.

Just gorgeous! A truly beautiful place to take a walk. We've been in good weather and bad, the way down to the falls can be quite tricky in the rain but on a nice sunny day even our 4yo managed it without too much trouble. Had a really lovely time here!

It's a Woundful place to visit. Just make sure to go to the bathroom beforehand as there are no nearby facilities, pack something to go swimming if you are brave enough and wear suitable footwear/boots as the walk down is steep and slippery. (Be aware that people have been injured, and it's a distance to a hospital)

Love this place. It's my daughter's favourite place to go. She loves getting behind the waterfall and all the walks and getting amongst nature. There's also a small petting zoo run on donations - the people who run that are really friendly and let you feed and get up close with the animals. Honestly just a lovely place to go Also. They filmed some of the The Dark Knight rises here

Great walk to the waterfalls. Proceeded Cautiously down a steep gravel path. The ascent was quite slow and slippery. The views were amazing. Just be careful going down.

Went early in the day in June to miss all the people - unfortunately I missed the water as well as there was only a trickle instead of the full experience. I can see the attraction however - nice path, great setting and the chance to go behind the fall curtain- just not for me on this visit. The path is gravelly and quite steep but plenty of steps.

Beautiful waterfall. Super close to a car park. Long downhill and a slight up hill to reach the bottom of it. Easy enough to walk behind, has a sign to warn of the perils. Well worth the effort. Not too much on the rest of the trail but still a lovely walk.

  • 5/5 Lauren T. 11 months ago on Google
We had such a lovely time visiting the waterfall. It's a steep walk back and there are steps at a point on the trail. In wet weather, rather slippy so not suitable for pushchairs. Definitely wear shoes with good grip! There are no bins so if you take food or see litter take it with away you. We especially enjoyed the little rescue farm at the top run purely off donations. The ladies that run it were so incredible, telling us the stories of how they came across the animals, (some of which beaten and abused, found in the boot of a car and rescued from the horse meat trade) and letting the children feed and stroke them and learn. The food van at the top, takes cash and card, there chip portions were an excellent size, we had 2 lots of chips, one with cheese and 2 coke cans and it was £10 spot on. We were in the first car park which was free, overflow is £5.

The falls were in great flow when we went. The trail to the falls was very good, like going back in time to a wild place. It was quite steep going from the car park and there were steps going up to the falls. Go in sturdy shoes especially after and rain as it can be muddy and slippery.

Visited on Friday. Car park was busy but managed to get a free space, the overflow car park charges £5. As you walk past the car park down a path you get to a van that sells hot food and drinks. Nice covered area for you to sit. Sheep are in the adjoining field. A short walk down a relatively steep slope. Walking boots a must or sensible enclosed shoes. The floor was slippery in places but can imagine would be quite challenging if it were raining. I took a hiking stick with me which helped greatly. You then have to climb some steep wooden steps and these were also slippery in places. Short walk then to the waterfall. Steps are carved out of the ground but you need to be very careful. Taking it slowly I navigated large tree stumps and quite big rocks to climb down and walk over to the back of the waterfall. If you go very careful and watch where you are going it would be fine. That saying it was a beautiful sunny day. This could be quite treacherous on a wet day. But the waterfall itself is worth it. Absolutely loved it as did my 3 dogs. A good couple of hours out. And you can do a walk to if you’ve time. Just go back down the steps and follow the sign post.
