An absolutely amazing gem of a place to visit. With so many different beautiful paths to take when your here. You could never get bored of this outstanding natural beauty. I ❤ it here and highly recommend visiting. Be prepared though it can be very muddy and there are some very step hill climbs if you feel adventurous or you can stay on the path and do a nice easy walk with beautiful views.

A little gem found in South Wales. 3 walks (photos posted from the yellow walk) for different abilities. Lakes are pushchair and wheelchair accessible. 2 play areas - 1 for littlies and a larger one for bigger children (my son is 9 and enjoyed it) - unfortunately they are not together. Cafe - hot and cold snacks and drinks at reasonable prices. Reception has lots of leaflets. Unfortunately the staff in this part were quite brusque. We stayed at the campsite - don't bother trying to find reception, just phone the number on the gate when you arrive to get through to the lovely staff. Choose your own pitch. New shower and toilet blocks - gender specific plus family bathrooms. Washing up facilities and laundry (1 washing machine and 1 tumble dryer) which you need to purchase tokens for but nothing to say cost. They could do with more signage as facilities aren't obvious (behind the grey double doors which look like staff only 😂)! Very quiet campsite - when we stayed there was no noise after 9pm and then quiet in thr morning. Obviously this depends on the other campers. Worth booking as a one night so over or good to explore the local area.

Very peaceful. Refreshing views. Have not visited nor have I used any facilities yet, but can say that definitely it's a great place for long peaceful walks. Dog friendly.

Dare valley country park is a jewel of South Wales. Covering a huge area this is wild rugged nature at it's best. Perfect for rambling, dog walking, family playtime or just getting some fresh air. This is a great choice for all the above. The main feature is the lake, teaming with ducks and geese it's a tranquil spot. There are several beaches around where you can sit and admire the nature. Surrounding the lake are many fields and hills, with beautiful grass and gorgeous views. It's great to just walk in different directions and see. You'll likey encounter horses too.

Stayed on the Touring Caravan pitches which is a very well maintained site. Toilet and shower facilities were immaculately clean. Pitches were level and of good size, was very quiet at night. Mountain bike and walking trails in local area. I would recommend this site to budding visitors and I would happily come back.

Brilliant park with spectacular scenery. The yellow route (6km) took us about 2.5 hours. A few steep bits up and down, really fabulous views. Facilities for kids looked good and at least 1 cafe.

We stayed for two nights in the campsite, nice space and facilities. Park is lovely, we don't cycle but the tracks looked brilliant. Downside was the walking routes. We wanted to walk the blue route, there were no printed maps anywhere so had to download map from the website instead. There were no markers indicating the start and extremely few markers on the route. We took a wrong turn and joined the red path which cut our walk short. Really frustrating. Food in cafe was OK, staff were nice and helpful.

Nice and small park. The toilets looked nice but showers were not very powerful but at least they were warm. The location was perfect for kids as there was a nice walk, big park and the bike track was very good. My son loved it. Overall good base if you like walks around Brecon.

Main cafe had closed early on a summer’s day with many visitors in the park! Mountain bike centre cafe was open till 18.30 - recommend for coffee, ice cream and snacks.

Dare Valley Country Park had been developed on land reclaimed from the coal mining industry, and there are plenty of reminders of that heritage dotted around the park. There are a good number of walks to suit all ages and abilities, including pushchair and wheelchair access to the main areas. There are two play areas four the children, and a small camp site. The lake hosts a wide variety of wild fowl and there are plenty of birds and animals to satisfy most nature lovers, including nesting peregrine falcons at the top end of the park. Although spoiled, a little, by the construction of a wind farm on the mountain overlooking the park, it is still well worth a visit. With free parking and an excellent cafe serving well-prepared hot food, it is a good for a full day out, or even just a coffee stop.

Great place for the children to have fun. loads to do, and some beautiful walks. It's shameful that the toilets are locked so early.

The country park is great! We stayed on the caravan site, the facilities were spotlessly clean Big problem though, access to the park towing a caravan is extremely difficult! You have to travel along a residential street lined with parked cars, it is not wide enough for two cars to pass without going into the pavement. Try getting through here with a caravan! The council really need to provide better access for park traffic including caravans.

Stayed on the campsite here. Lovely small site, peaceful and quiet. Large hard standing pitches with a nice clean, well maintained shower block.

Stayed on site for night, beautiful location but the directions and postcode were not clear. We got lost several times and it took us 2 hours to find. The postcode given takes you into a different part and got stuck down a lane in a big motorhome. The staff were very welcoming when we arrived and super helpful. Site was peaceful and beautiful and had a very good nights sleep. Kids loved it too.

Perfect for all members of the family. Great adventure playground for the family. Safe easy paths for my mum to use with her walking aid. Clean toilets (a bonus in this pandemic!) and a large car park. Looking forward to when the cafe is open but table and benches out in the open in the meantime. Plenty of space for the dog to run around and excellent views to enjoy
