Firstly this is an amazing piece of history which was great to see. It’s got the Roman baths to see and a small museum of artifacts and things found. There’s part of a Roman road there which is so well preserved and remarkably lower then our street level today. All the things here were just incredible and I loved being around history of 2000 years in age. It was just too busy to enjoy it as much as you would had it been quieter. I think that the numbers need to be limited because you can’t see things because of people in the way or you’ve got to wait ages to get a turn. It’s also ridiculously priced at £25 a person! Whilst I appreciate the importance of this place, the price doesn’t need to be that high. Would i recommend this place, well if you like history yes but be prepared for masses of people and an empty wallet. I’d give the artifacts inside five stars but the two stars are for the rip off prices.

What an amazing experience we had in this astonishing place! It is magnificent!! I was totally impressed for the beauty of this complex and the truth is that I did not feel like leaving. You may visit this amazing monument for only £17.50 including the self-guided dispositive in many languages to understand each area. At the end of the tour, you can also drink the springs hot water, and believe me, it is really worth it! I highly recommend you to book your time online.

One of the most amazing historical sites we've ever seen. The museum is extensive and well designed. The audio guide is informative and the archeological finds in display are remarkable. This site has been important to people since before the Roman's, as indicated by thousands of years of coins tossed into the hot waters. The mineral water is invigorating to drink as well. This is a must visit location in Bath.

I spent just under three hours in this beautiful museum. I recommend you take the audio guide as it makes it more interesting and informative. There is a one way traffic system which is preferred and you must wear your masks. The Roman Baths are so beautiful and picture-worthy. You could see and feel the warmth from the water and while you walk through the museum, you will feel like you're taken back in time. I 100% recommend booking a visit. Be prepared to spend money in the amazing souvenir store!

Unbelievable piece of history in the centre of Bath. It took me 3 hours to get around and I could have taken longer. An audio tour is included in the price, this tells one everything you need to know, also included are extras about the archeology & some observations by Bill Bryson. Best fact of the day, the baths may be 2000 years old but the water fell as rain 10,000 years ago!

Excellent attraction and very informative with a lot to see. There is a lot more to see inside than you would imagine looking from the outside. I booked a ticket for 10 am when it opened on a week day in January, so it was not busy, so it allowed plenty of time and space to look around. I think during the summer tourist season it gets very busy. Staff are friendly and helpful. Lovely attraction and very interesting 😊

What a great informative place doesn’t look very large or much from outside but its like doctor who’s tardis. Once inside the place, it is very factual with lots of things to look at and great narrated tour. We spent 2 hours wandering through but could have been longer. One of the better ancient site i have visited. Only down side is the talk tour is done through a large mobile phone which makes your arm ache after a while.

Mineral rich hot water that is believed to have healing powers is what made this place famous and world heritage. During the WW1, wounded soldiers used to skinny dip here to recover and before that Queen Victoria and other elites in their royal bikinis. And from there it goes all the way back to homesick Romans who found some comfort in this natural hot spring. No you can't just dive in, float around the pool and discuss matters like Roman generals did but book a spa or a tour and then they'll give you a glass of that stale aqua. And if you didn't heal, blame yourself.

Definitely great historical place with plenty to learn. Yet another Roman architectural wonder. Thermal heating source used for worship and pleasure. Must visit.

This place may seem expensive but it has a lot to offer once you are inside. There is a list of history and events that is related to this spot. Great roman leader like Julius Caesar was also a part of Bath's history and many other leaders after him. This place takes you back 1000's of years. I truly appreciate the efforts of preserving this spot with absolute care and maintenance. Its nice to see how things are conserved for our future generations to witness a part of this great historic place.

Fantastic. A must see. The length of the visit is perfect, great displays and superb interactions for all ages. It’s in such great condition. We took our daughter because she’s studying the Romans at school, what better place than this.

A good historical place with lots to see, learn, understand and explore. The audio commentary provided by the ear set was awesome. It's a bit pricy, but" yes" to maintain the standards of the museum it's required. I have personally fallen in love with the city of Bath. Such a magnificent architectural marvel. A very well planned and designed city. One should spend at least 2 whole days exploring the city. Its so nice to see the buildings preserved in its original state. The eateries are just awesome. If anyone is visiting UK as a tourist then I would definitely recommend they should spend some quality at Bath.

The Roman Bath are beautiful and worth a visit. You get to enjoy an audio guide which is available in 12 languages which I'd included in the admission price. It's very very informative with a lot to see. From the outside looking in you wouldn't believe how much there is to see inside. It look roughly 2 hours to see everything. I didn't pre order my tickets and managed to get in without any bother, saying that I would recommend in the warmer months to book ahead to avoid an disappointment.

Baths were great to do on a cloudy day, and light rain, inside for part going through the different areas and then outside walking around the main bath. This was my second time going and while one area was blocked off, most things were easy to see and read the signs. They even have the audible guides that they clean and sanitize between use, nice added touch as most places aren't offering.

Great place to visit and it can take a while to walk around if you listen to all the audio information, which is included with the price. £25 an adult is a little high in my opinion for the size of the venue but very informative. There are lifts to help people with mobility issues.

If you plan to visit Bath, then this is a place that you must visit. It is definitely one of the top ten attractions. If you find history interesting, then make sure that you give yourself enough time for your visit. We spent two and half hours on our visit. The audio guide is brilliant and informative. It really helps you to understand the storyline and what you are looking at.

Absolutely beautiful place to see. The roman architecture as well as the roman statues on the walkway above the roman bath pool makes us wonder about life pf romans. The abbey is right next to it. Dont forget to get the audio guide given at the gate, there is a lot of information on every step. Press the number that is at every step displayed and entire history is explained on each and every thing. Eye opening wonders in the information. Highly recommended. Well worth the amount paid for visiting it.

Such a beautiful place to visit!! We scheduled for around 13:45 and it was beautifully lit up by the sun! Everything was so well preserved and we learned so much! The entire walk through ended up being longer than 15min, but it was well worth the ticket price! A must see if you have never been! There are lots of shops near, food places, and hotels! We parked at SouthGate Car Park which was a 5 min walk.

It was awesome!!! Set aside 3 hours to see everything. The audio tour was great, although the numbers seemed hard to find. The Roman Bath has UK's only source of hot springs and it's still active. There's a whole labyrinth of rooms to walk through, learn, and explore. The ancient Romans sure knew how to have a good time!

Great experience! Lots to see for all ages. They give you a phone when you arrive which is like having your own personal tour guide in your ear for each exhibit. The Baths are amazing. When I went there was even a girl dressed up like a roman telling us how she went for a dip this morning.

Magnificent! Well worth seeing - it will transport you back to Roman times! It's amazing it's survived 2000 yrs to this day and age!! Astonishing and beautiful. The hot springs are still going and you can even have a drink of the peculiar tasting water (due to the copper and iron content in it)! There is an audio guide too for every exhibit shown inside. You will need at least 2 hrs to see it quickly but thoroughly.

Having wanted to visit for a while now I am thoroughly glad I have been. It is pricey to attend what is effectively a museum but I would pay it again to experience the enjoyment of visiting a real Roman monument. The audio guides you get are cool although it looks like you're on the phone all the time. If you like Bill Bailey, he's provided his own little spin on the Baths for you to listen to. Plenty of relics and interesting bits of history preserved and the use of videos on the projector throughout is really good. Please don't try and drink the water in the main pool unless you wish to go to the hospital. There is actual clean water at the end which you can try, with a little detail of the nutritional value. The shop is reasonable and there doesn't appear to be a massive markup on items. Some really great books are available as well. A really enjoyable visit, will definitely do the night tour should I return to Bath.

Reserve your tickets BEFORE hand, or you may not be able to get in the day of you visit! Such an amazing historical experience! One of the best scenic areas was learning about the Hot Springs. Being apart of the Romans culture was intriguing and powerful. Definitely recommend!

Had a great experience, visited the museum at twelve o’clock and finished the whole experience around two hours later. At the entrance we were given these phones full of interesting stories about each section the museum which made the whole experience better. Towards the end you get to have a cup of the bath spring water which tastes funny but has ten times the minerals of any water bottle sold in supermarkets.

Amazing. At first, we were a bit put back at the cost of entry. However, the venue is well worth it. There are so many things to see. A labyrinth to explore. Hand-held device tour, so free to explore at your own pace. Areas had films of Roman citizens who brought each area to life. For example, Roman Gym. There were real life "Roman citizens" that you could talk to. I asked about the pipes "of the day" and was shocked at the answer. Colourful, historical, interesting, informative, well planned.....well worth a visit. Oh...and weekdays are cheaper than weekends.

My second visit to the Baths and I would absolutely come back again and again. Reasonably priced and so much history, the free audio tour is excellent, and you can listen to as much or as little as you want. Not particularly crowded when we went at Half 10 on a Sunday and we spent about 2 and a half hours there. The water tasted like drinking a mouthful of pennies but with 43 minerals, it's probably quite good for you 👍

Great place to visit. It was our second visit, my wife and I took our son this time with us now he is older. Must see if you are visiting Bath. You will see the original hot water stream still going strong after 1000 of years (water temp 46c), baths themselves, different swimming pools, learn why this place was so special for Romans.

Upon entering the baths you're transported back 2000 years (not literally). If only I could've had a soak... The baths are a must see if visiting Bath (oh that's why the town is called Bath...). Be sure to sample the spring water on the way out of the main bath area to complete your time travel experience and return you to present day pandemonium.

It was amazing to see the artifacts they uncovered. They were very good at enforcing Covid-19 social distancing practices. I was disappointed that the fountain was closed due to Covid-19 but I understand why. They also provide you with an audio tape for your tour so you can learn about each section with a special code to keep the kids engaged.

This place is well organised because of the covid-19. did not have to wait long in the queue as we had time slots. The staff there were friendly and the place was absolutely amazing the artefacts very interesting and the bath itself wow must have been lovely in the Roman times we were able to sit around the Bath and have a drink as they sell drinks by the side of the bath a little bit expensive a glass of Champagne I believe was £9 there's no rush to get out had to wear masks inside when you walked around but once you came out you take your mask off. I had a fantastic time here anyone visiting Bath must come here we visited about 18:00 and it was quite busy inside.

  • 4/5 Lynda D. 3 years ago on Google
Interesting however I found the one way system, mask wearing and distancing to be tough. It does take a bit or of the enjoyment but still worth seeing if you have never been, staff was friendly and tried to make the visit as normal as possible. I found the recorded commentary a bit dry, Bryson had recorded some that are extra but I only found it was his opinion and not informative, again my opinion. Visit is recommended as it is landmark for the city.

Amazing to step back in time at the Roman baths! This place is fascinating and it's incredible to think how much history there is here. Hard to think of much to not like here, if I was being picky I'd say the audio is very childish - I'd have liked a bit more from the excellent Bill Bryson! An incredible, unique experience not to be missed if you're in Bath

This was a lovely experience that I was delighted to be a part of. We loved the roman actress as she was very chatty and kind and very realistic that we were slightly confused at first. Had to edit the review for covid-19 real shame as this site is very poorly organised with no social distancing as large groups causing choke points and long queues with no staff guiding or controlling flow.

Bath got its name from these Roman baths. These were hot water springs arguably having some medicinal effects which was very popular in the Roman era and even in later times. Even Admiral Lord Nelson has visited these Roman baths. Now its a museum and a must visit if you are coming to Bath. Had a fascinating time exploring the Roman relics there.

It's a great museum/heritage site that really opens your eyes to Roman Britain. The handheld guide is very good and informative. Social distancing is in place with lots of staff directing customers and plenty of signs to help along the way. The only negative would be I felt there were maybe too many people in during the time slot, but this was only a minor inconvenience

  • 5/5 Wayne C. 3 years ago on Google
Lots to see and it's attractively presented around the original Roman bath and hot spring. Although it's been rebuilt over the centuries there's a lot of the Roman site still to see. In these days of Covid they have taken good precautions to keep people safe. It's expensive, but worth it, we spent more than two hours there.

  • 1/5 Christian J. 3 years ago on Google
The Roman Baths were very interesting and impressive, however the organisation of the COVID protections was over the top, in my opinion. There implementation of a strict one way system with no shortcuts meant that if there is someone on a tour infront that insists on studying every artifact or information point in detail, it creates a bottleneck. There are staff randomly placed throughout the museum however they don't seem to be proactive in any way, and just seem to be "there" not doing very much to improve the rate of flow of customers. Its possibly the first tourist attraction I've visited which is both simultaneously overstaffed and yet understaffed. Its very frustrating being stuck in a corridor for up to 10 mins, unable to overtake but with nothing to look at. This definitely needs improving, along with the organisation in general.

  • 2/5 Jock M. 3 years ago on Google
Pre booked tickets. Asked if we needed the toilet then watched as others who had queued behind were ushered past. Made to stand outside in torrential rain with the whole group in our time slot while the staff made a huge hash of the social distancing. They basically had let on too many people than the site can cope with.

Excellent tourist attraction telling the story of the baths though the ages. Shame that Covid means closure of some areas and less time to listen to all the audio guides. Excellent immersion into Roman history on British soil. The whole city breaths medieval air, but the Baths are certainly the leitmotif. Quite well guided through the audio, though Covid makes this a bit fast paced. But the experience is totally worth it, I walked out directly at the nearby thermal spas, thinking I’m a time traveler :)

Stunning place, with a rich history. Thoroughly enjoyed venturing around this beautiful place. The measures put in place for C-19 were very well thought through and executed, though this made the visit a little shorter, it left more time to take in and enjoy the attraction. There was a rather large queue as you enter the attraction right at the top of the baths at the very start, this was absolutely fine by me as it allowed me to enjoy the sunshine and views of Bath, though I should imagine if the weather were to be less than ideal, it wouldn’t be a pleasant wait, especially as mine was 45 minutes! Overall it was very good and very much enjoyed myself. I would love to visit again sometime. Massive shout out to the staff who worked tirelessly to ensure it was smooth running.

(Translated by Google) Tickets tend to be expensive and one thinks twice when buying. But worth! If you like historical places, you must visit the baths. The guide is available in many languages, including Polish.

Excellent exhibit, museum, and overall experience. Having spent over a month in Italy recently we were not sure what to expect for the Roman Baths. It was unlike anything we have seen or experienced anywhere else. The concept of the baths, the explanation of the architecture/con structure, the insight into the meaning of it, and magnitude of the project to uncover it are marvelous. The hand carry audio tour was extremely informative, and easy to listen. Though a bit crowded at times, and rather expensive to visit, this is an experience like no where else.

Buy tickets online in advance for a specific 15 min time slot, or buy tickets there for a later time in the day, and plan to walk around or get lunch and come back later. Can spend as much or as little time as you want in there. There is an audio tour available with lots of interesting info. Some museum areas too. Very cool place to visit once. Unique for sure.

Great Central history of a beautiful city. There is plenty of interactive features so is more than suitable for all ages. We spent an hour here, however you could easily spend far more time. Well laid out with clear attention to detail and fantastic preservation of what is truly a historic landmark. There's a part where you can also try some spring water, this is an absolute MUST when visiting here as it's all part of the experience. This place is highly reccomended and is great value for money.

As for me, a very interesting place. A museum is inside. You will know more about how this place looked in ancient times, who and how exactly used it. There are really hot water springs inside and you can try water from there absolutely for free near the exit. The architecture of Bath is stunning too and worth visiting. For me one day was enough. But I think to see all beautiful places including castle, 2 days will be fair enough

It’s better to buy the tickets in advance online if you cannot arrive at the Bath museum before 10am. We arrived 9:30, and no queue for ticket office. It took us 1.5 hours totally inside. When we finished our visit about 11am, we saw a long queue outside the entrance. So I recommend that precook will be a must.

Very well displayed exhibition and historic site. Amazing insight into the Romans around this site. Not to crowded allowing time to take in time to view exhibition and not rushed. Well worth a visit. Make sure you book your tickets before arriving so you aren't held back on accessing the site. Suggestion:- It would be cool if they had actors dressed as Romans moving throughout the site providing talks etc.

A very well curated experience with a beautifully arranged auto tour. It does get crowded at the most interesting places but it's worth the visit. If you are inquisitive like us, 2 hours won't be enough, so plan on entering longer than 2 hours before closing time.

Very well laid out and very informative. A lot of work to maintain obviously. A bit warm and smelly underground but to be expected. Very busy even during winter. Good commentary on self- listening tour. I couldn't bring myself to taste the water but would have loved to experience a cleansing massage and a soak in the healing waters if it were at all possible, but I totally understand why you can't.

Beautiful, tons of history and information. Make sure to get the "tour guide" and use it at points of interest. Amazing these are still working after centuries. And you can feel the hot springs, actually didn't want to leave that section as it was a bit chilly and misty when we went in.

Not as impressive as seen in the textbook. But overall a wonderful place to visit. The museum tried to cover a variety of contents, including the history of Roman empire. If you are a non-historian visitor like us, I would recommend you to skip the first few indoor exhibitions. This way you can focus more on the architecture, the bath itself.

I have visited the Roman Thermal Bath museum on Sunday for a day out in Bath. Very interesting and informative museum with a tour guide for adults and children. My 10 year old son enjoy the visit for more than 2 hrs! Our entire family has been entertained with fascinating facts about this importance of this historical sight, the Roman life at the time and the vital devotional aspects of the goddess Minerva.
