Amazing place for a stroll, especially on a warm sunny day. Plenty to see and paths to explore, the derelict castle with overgrown orangerie is my favourite, just wish I could win the lotto to rejuvenate into its former glory, make sure yoh hunt out the old round house too, some amazing views from there

Found this place by looking around locally on the OS maps app, such a hidden gem!! Lovely walk through the woods with the little historic elements. The path we took didn’t give us much of a view of the castle at all unfortunately by the fort/summer house at the top was amazing! Great views!

Quite sure I was the only one in the entire forest, away from the noise of traffic. There is a horse riding route that passes through so caution if your dog is not good with horses. Parking is limited as the main car park was closed.

Great walks around the forest and up to the hill fort and fairy quiet most of the time.

Such a lovely quiet place to walk/cycle, there is a stunning view from the hill fort, its well worth the hike to the top especially to watch the sunrise. Would perhaps like to see a bin at each entrance as unfortunately not everyone takes their rubbish home.

Nice walk but you have no access to Rupert's Castle.

It's a beautiful place for a stroll, albeit a but muddy in places. You get to see ruperra Castle (from a distance), it's fallen into disrepair unfortunately, but still a beautiful looking castle. When you get up into the wooded area, there are a few paths to follow and lots of different colours to look at from the different flowers and trees that are there. At the very top of the hill, there is an old roundhouse with no roof, and the views are spectacular. You can see for a good few miles in each direction, definitely worth spending a couple of hours in the vicinity to take in all the beautifulness the area had to offer. Going uphill can be quite arduous for unfit people, but being a larger bloke and very unfit myself, I just took my time and savoured all the views on the way.

Amazing walks with the dog available, lovely places to view and stretching views across the valleys

I think the owners of the place should try and maintain the walls better, as they’re are starting to crumble, and think about investing in some heating during the winter months. Other than that, great atmosphere and sick view. Well worth the money.
