ABSOLUTELY incredible! A true national treasure, a ship hull found in Newpor dating to 1400's, such an interesting visit. I highly recommend.

We had such an interesting time visiting Newport's medieval ship. We were taken on a guided tour by a knowledgeable gentleman who was more than happy to answer any questions we had. To see the timbers of the ship in person was fantastic. I hope we can visit again once it has been rebuilt. I would recommend a visit to anyone who is interested in history or ships.

Highly recommend everyone to visit. Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. Many details on the research. The ship itself is the only one of its kind served between Bristol and mainland Europe. It may belong to Richard Neville, Earl of Warwick, the Kingmaker and was send to Newport for repairing. The council, when they were rebuilding the river bank, was warned that there might be something sleeping in the mud and was advised to buy insurance to cover the salvage cost. They didn't buy and worse than that, they damaged the ship when drilling blindly.

Very interesting to see. Open day with lots of other things to see & do but very busy. Great entertainment for the kids! There seemed to be traffic chaos as cars were parked badly on the roads around. Will definitely go again but not on an open day!

Had a great tour around being shown the remains of the ship. Hopefully they'll receive some lottery or government funding so the remains can be properly displayed in an appropriate facility

What a fantastic place to visit if you are interested in history or ships. It is free entry and free parking which is an added bonus. We were met by a very Informative gentleman who was more than happy to give us a tour and provided us with a lot of information about the ship and answer any questions we may have had. They also provide activities for young children to keep them entertained and there is also a little gift shop. Would recommend a visit whatever the weather

Very interesting historical exhibition for Newport. Our guide Kate was extremely friendly and took us through the history of the ship itself and the excavation process.

Visited today following a quick Google for things to do locally due to sporadic weather. Safe to say this exhibition was really worth visiting, as it combined both highly interesting artifacts and displays relating to the vessel. But also information delivered by a knowledgable and enthusiastic guide. My advice to anyone with an interest in this subject is to visit now while you can still experience the artifacts up close before they go off for exhibition. As you are truly surrounded by the very timbers found in the river which are now preserved.

Found accidentally due to road closure, but we are lucky to see this amazing exhibition. Very detailed and professional and the volunteers are very keen, helpful and knew a lot of things about the subject and more. Thank you for the fascinating experience. My kids loved the digging area and rats.

Open day was amazing! An awesome insight into the history of an historical gem that NCC tried and failed to cover up. Rats, sinking ship, ironic really. 2002 and flat packed to this day. Shameful. It may not be the Mary Rose but its as good as! More open days and charge a Β£ pp. Why the Mayor was there I haven't a scooby! Anyhoo, Newport Medieval Ship Appreciation Society should be a done thing.
