Lovely bit of woods with paths going in a few directions so you could have a variety of walks. There is a little stream at the start, to the left, and up the hill there are some lovely views of Ponty. Another walker told me you can go right along the quarry and into the forest but I didn't venture that far. The route I took was steep and wobbly underfoot in places, so maybe not suitable for those with balance issues etc I didn't see any designated parking for the reserve, but there was plenty of free space along the streets leading up. Would recommend using insect repellent as it was full of little flying things.

This secluded spot is ideal for walks if you are from the local area, it is a largely wooded area with a few clearings and small trails that crisscross the reserve. There are no facilities here at all but free parking can be found at the bottom of the road up to the reserve on Berw Road. This is an ideal place to bring your dog or go for an explore in the woods with your family. It is just as appealing for those who love walking and want to get off the beaten path but don’t want to travel outside of pontypridd. I wouldn’t recommend planning to come here for a day out, you might be a bit disappointed but it is a great place for locals to explore.

This is a stunning nature reserve on the side of a quarry, all native deciduous woodland. Only downside is very little parking.

Beautiful and many birds, wildlife etc. Various areas spoiled by litterbugs & dwr cymru leaving their barriers/signs behind. Also idiot arsonists.

We parked just before the bridge. As private parking up ahead :) Stunning woods. With the autumn colours! Bit more of an incline than i expected but good for me in the long run. Lol

Pity that the quarry continues to be an eye store & fencing around is not maintained.

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Very grateful to have this place open again - it was always derelict growing up so it feels quite a privilege to have it back. Amazing what they were able to do after the floods, too. Booking can be difficult, particularly as people can't travel abroad very much at the moment so are looking for act...

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Extremely detailed history displayed. I went deep back in history. Cleaned and the staff was polite. Nice tourist attraction.
