We visited Dylan Thomas the poets house.a couple of months ago, and kind of stumbled across it really, we were driving nearby and saw signs to the house. We decided to visit and were really pleased to meet the chap who had purchased restored the house the way it was when Dylan Thomas lived there. He gave us a tour of the house and it was great. It was really interesting to see how he must have lived and where he was born. The chap who showed us around was very passionate and you could tell it was a labour of love. Visiting the house got my and my partner interested in knowing more about Dylan Thomas and his fantastic poems such as the Dying of the Light. Very much worth a visit.

We enjoyed a very comfortable night at this living museum. It is a splendid homage and faithful reconstruction of the home and early life Dylan Thomas.

I chose to spend the night here and what an amazing experience! The restoration of the birthplace is magnificent and the attention to detail was fantastic. Be aware that there are no TVs and a tub instead of a shower, but for me that only added to the authentic old-world-charm feel. I also opted for both the Laugharne and Swansea tours on separate days. Geoff was not only very knowledgable, but willing to tailor the tours to some of my very specific requests. I would have missed out on quite a bit without his expert guidance. This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and definitely worth it. I can't recommend it highly enough!

Brilliant, quirky, unique experience. Had a guided tour and afternoon tea. What made unique was that you got a true feel for Dylan's early life. Allowed to wander around home freely, the afternoon tea was homely. It cost under £60 for me,wife and daughters aged 11 and 7. And we all enjoyed it

Took a group of 15 friends, who loved the experience and the friendly expert hosts/guides/servers of tea.

More a museum than a hotel, Took a group of 15 from Bristol. We were all enormously impressed and delighted with reception and depth of knowledge of custodian proprietors.

A really wonderful experience to walk around this beautifully restored house and speak to the extremely knowledgeable host. Really worth visiting the park too, and finding the water fountain. Memorable.

I really enjoyed the house, it's beautiful, recreated as it used to be back in the days. Jeff told me lots of things about its history and Dylan Thomas (and family) living there for 23 years. It's worth a visit. Jeff was even so kind to give me a lift to the railway station. Thanx so much, had a great time learning more about D.T. Greetings from Argentina :)

With a light breeze on summer’s air, car windows down, Elgar’s Enigma Variations, “Nimrod”, quietly resonates as I pull up outside one of the most celebrated poets and writers of the 20th century’s house. An aged Edwardian house, cream accented green sach windows of a bygone era look out on the Uplands and out towards the Gower, frozen in time. 5 Cwmdonkin Drive, Uplands, Swansea. where Dylan Thomas grew up and nearly two-thirds of his works were created.

Dylan Thomas’s original house, restored based off first-hand account from hired help Emily, is well-worth the visit. Geoff has put in a tremendous amount of work into the residence., restructuring each area to how it was likely to have looked after changing hands and purposes multiple times. Thanks for the lovely tour.

Truly a one of a kind experience! It’s like living your childhood dream of staying in a museum AND being allowed to touch everything 😂 the house is very cozy we just didnt want to leave… if you want more than just a room to stay in, if you’re looking for a truly unique experience- this is it!! Highly recommend it!

I've been before for the guided tour and really enjoyed it. Last night we went for a performance of Dylan Thomas's Child's Christmas in Wales. It was very well done and to hear it in the house he grew up in is very special

This was a mist enjoyable experience, it was just like going back in time. We managed to visit Tom Jones house where he grew up and went to Aberfan to pay respect to the children and adults that died in the disaster. Highly recommend Dylan Thomas's birth place

A maximum of six people in a tour party. But there is also a minimum of two people. I was on my own.😕

Best for a tour rather than staying there. The bathroom is of its period and l am used to the home comforts of plenty of hot water and convenience of a shower.

Stunning restoration which makes for a very evocative experience - Dylan's early life is easily imagined here, in his childhood home where a vast amount of his work was written. A real gem of a place!
