Nice castle. Not in great shape after all those year, but not ruin either. Still a lot to learn there, able to climb to the towers or walk on the walls. Easily to spend couple of hours there with great views. And at the back of the castle is picnic area with tables and benches. There's small car park free of charge and relatively big I would call it overflow carpark on the left before arrival to the main one. Entrance fee £6.50 through gift shop. Nice clean toilets straight after the entrance.

One of the beautiful castle of Wales and the village is also very beautiful. The only problem we faces that there is no nearest cafe or restaurant that open during lunch time. So we had to drive far for having our lunch. Overall the journey was pleasant and could be a good day trip for anyone who lives south-west wales.

A small, but relatively intact castle, hidden away in deepest Wales. Well worth a visit - probably won't take more than a couple of hours to look round, but you'll be glad you went. Lovely views from the top of the keep, and lots of little stairs and rooms for kids to explore.

One of the best CADW castles in Wales. Great for exploring especially with the kids. Lots of hidden passageways and easy to get to. I have a large sprinter van and was able to park thats not to say it wouldn't be tight in the summer months.

Hidden gem of a castle set in a beautiful little village. It's cheap to get in, very beautiful, with mostly intact towers and walls, with tonnes of spiral staircases, passageways and dungeons to explore. Incredibly panoramic views from the top of the middle tower in all directions. Very much worth a visit

Very interesting castle. Dog friendly, the staff gave treats to all the dogs that arrived. Access for disabled is as good as you can expect for an ancient monument, bearing in mind that to see it all, there's a lot of steep steps to climb. I managed quite a bit of this on crutches, but some of it you won't be able to get to. It is what it is. The castle is very impressive and bigger than you think from the entrance, the views are great and the toilets are clean and right by the entrance. There are two car parks but they're not big, so go early. There are also some very nice walks along the river.

Kidwelly Castle is definitely one of the most impressive castles that I have visited in Wales. There's a small car park directly outside the castle entrance which has eleven parking bays and one disabled bay; we visited on a sunny Saturday, and surprisingly it wasn't very busy there, so had no problem parking. The entrance fee of £6 an adult is a good price to visit such a great castle. It's dog friendly, but you can't get to the upper levels or the towers with a dog, so we had to take it in turns to climb the towers. The grounds are exceptionally clean and well maintained and the castle is situated in a great location - Kidwelly is a nice, little town. There's a great little pub with a beer garden opposite as well where we enjoyed a nice pint afterwards. Most definitely worth a visit!

Best ruined castle I have ever seen. Outer and Inner curtain walls complete, buildings inside the castle walls still standing except roofs. It is possible to see how the castle functioned. In a wonderful location alongside a river. Gift shop and toilet, adequate parking for cars and motorhomes.

Spent an amazing 2 hrs walking around the hidden rooms up and down the battlements .plenty of information to read about the castles history. You get a whole different perspective from the battlements. You can walk around the outside if it's closed by going down the steps by the 1 disabled space. Also, turn right to go visit the old town bridge. Outer wall of the castle and the old water mill now an antique store

Great castle ruins run by CADW. Reasonable prices for a visit as the money goes towards the upkeep of welsh historic monuments. There is a gift shop and toilets on site, but no refreshments kiosk. A small car park is available on site, although the is free car parking a short walk away.

Visited on 10/12/2022. This for me was my first-ever visit to a Castle. I loved how we were left to explore the ruins and grounds. How you could climb the very steep stairs to get an amazing view of the surrounding areas. Fun-filled facts are potted around the grounds, allowing insight into the history of the castle. It takes less than an hour to walk around, however, there are benches inside the grounds where you can top for a breather or a quick snack. Small car park near the entrance. Toilets available as well.

A very well preserved castle indeed. Not a massive place but nevertheless it is epic. Most areas are still strong enough for you to explore and with many nooks and crannies to stick your nose in. Some interesting pieces of info are dotted around. I really found myself transported back in time to imagine life living here.

A really good castle to explore as it's huge with lots of things to see and do. My child really enjoyed the experience and the little gift shop. Car park is quite small so will have to find alternative parking on busy days, but there's plenty around.

Absolutely amazing old castle has been well looked after to allow visitors to safely walk around large areas of the building and grounds. I especially loved walking around the parapet and the amazing views from up there

Very good castle in very good state. A brilliant ruin to explore, not overly busy and fantastic for kids. Bits of information scattered around the place. There are toilets on site and a gift shop but parking at the castle is limited, you'r better off parking down the road and walking up as theres a free car park nearby.

Absolutely stunning. It is the most "intact" castle in Wales dating back to the 13th century. Some of the stairwells are very narrow so just be careful. $6 for seniors $6.50 for adults

Simply the best castle I've visited. Kidwelly is a large castle and quite complete in that there are loads of nooks and crannies to explore. Entry price was fair and parking is free. There's a lovely little cafe at the end of the street for a coffee or lunch too.

One of the busiest castles I have been too. Dog friendly on ground levels. Free car park just before and limited at the castle.

Great castle to visit. Grandchildren loved it! Very interesting lovely views too. Could do with a tea room .

Been before and this is such a lovely well manicured castle. We are able to walk up around the battlements and have amazing views of the area and castle ruins.

Loved it, thought it was going be some old stones in a pile, but it was loads of fun with lots of different rooms to go in and you an go to the top of the tower. Only thing would have been nice to have more info in each room

Kidwelly Castle is a great stop if you like castles and history. We climbed, explored, studied, and enjoyed the beautiful setting for over 90 minutes.

I haven't been into the castle only viewed from outside. Lovely gift shop, small car park. Dogs are allowed into the castle too.
