It was the first time I'd used a small mobility scooter the top area and roses where easy to navigate. I noticed larger scooters could get around quite well onto the lower terraces. You have to think of the drainage of the battery. So relaxing such lovely colours around you. It's so worth the visit. Our daughter and son in law visiting from Alberta Canada loved it all. We sat and relaxed on one of the benches after a nice picnic and waited for them to come back.

One of the loveliest National Trust gardens I've visited. Azaleas, Spring flowers & magnolias were out when we visited. Beautiful terraces, ponds, buildings with lots of interesting walks. Plenty of seats to just sit & relax. Not as big as I expected & queues at cafe in the gardens. Nice craft centre with reasonably priced individual work. Garden centre with all usual things to see & buy.

Absolutely stunning gardens and house, a beautiful dog friendly walk around the grounds with so many gorgeous views. You can spend the day strolling the area finding so many lovely flowers, trees and awesome architecture. Nice couple of cafes to rest for a while and grab a coffee and snack. Would highly recommend when visiting North Wales.

This place is amazing, we are so glad we chose to have a drive out, it was fantastic from the time we arrived at the carpark all the time to leaving and having a look around the little shops and garden centre on the way out. We spent a good few hours in the NT and it was lovely getting to cook Marshmallows on the fire. The place was away and the flowers were so looked after and the colours at the moment were just amazing. Will definitely be returning and it makes us so glad that we have joined NT members

One of the most beautiful gardens we have ever visited. We have spent many hours here , walking around , there’s a lot to see. Amazing autumn colours, so relaxing…. There’s an easy path and a bit challenging one, plenty of benches to have a rest or just chilling and enjoying the view. Parking is free. Lovely coffee shop and gift shop next to it.

A friendly greeting leads you to the entrance. Nice to see a National Trust location that still gives you a map. A suggestion is that I would mark the coloured routes around the gardens clearer as there were a lot of pathways leading off that didn't have any clear destination. Lovely gardens, well maintained, lots of colour even in the Autumn. Seating located throughout the gardens. Tearooms and toilets were in several locations along the park pathways. Located at the end of the day there was a large garden centre, more tearooms, toilets and souvenir shop. We spent the whole day there, had a picnic, drinks in the tearooms and a lovely walk through the woods. A great place to visit anytime of the year.

One of the best National Trust gardens I've visited. Stunning displays of colour and lovingly maintained formal gardens contrast with open green spaces and the lush river valley. Various walks take in the highlights of the different gardens. There's something to see at every turn and you'd need several hours here to get a good look around; I will have to return some time to see the laburnum arch in all its glory. There is a big café at the main entrance along with a gift shop and garden centre.

Bodnant Garden was the surprise of our holiday! We loved the scale of the grounds and the wide variety of plants, from the Italian style pond to the terraced gardens. We were very lucky to see the Laburnum walk in full flower, as we did not know about it in advance. Dog-friendly all over the grounds, including the shops and cafes. Highly recommended to visit at any time of the year!

This garden is absolutely amazing and relaxing. We were supposed to have a walk for an hour or so but we ended up staying more than 2 hours. It’s quite big and we haven’t seen everything. We even found a cute cat who were really friendly. During our walk we also stopped by the little cabin coffee which was really nice. The drinks we took were very good. And there’s table outside with birds flying all around and a cute black cat on the roof. Definitely a highlight!

Went during their Open day. Absolutely would visit again, worth the entry price, and going to consider getting a National Trust Membership. The gardens are Absolutely beautiful and perfect for all garden enthusiasts (every plant or flower has signs to say what they are), photographers, hikers, basically everyone. We only went for a small walk and still there for 2-3 hours.

Visited during the summer holidays and it felt busy when we were at the entrance but the gardens are so huge and peaceful you don't really notice others until you get to the cafe areas. We didn't stop at the cafés but they did seem very busy which is to be expected during the holidays! The landscape is really impressive and we enjoyed the circular walks so we didn't see anything twice. It is very up and down with hills though and can be difficult underfoot if its wet I imagine so just something to be aware of. All in all a really beautiful garden and somewhere I can imagine is great to visit all year round to see how the grounds change through the seasons - we'll definitely be back!

If you check my reviews you will see I have visited a lot of gardens in the last 18 months. On talking to people one garden kept on being recommended to me, "you must see Bodnant" people kept telling me. So armed with my Canon gear I spent 2 days shooting the Autumn colours. The garden is quite extensive at about 80 acres with formal terraces to the west of the house. There are open fields to the South and to the west the garden drops down and follows a brook. While Bodnant is described as a garden I think its an arboretum in its own right , the trees are superb. All staff and gardeners are very polite and are rightly very proud of the garden. The café is very good and serves proper cooked food not just cake and sandwiches. The gardeners tell me this is a garden for spring, summer, autumn and winter, I can believe them. A superb garden, I will be back to shoot the winter garden.

Beautiful spot with great access, close to the coast and nearby towns. Plenty of walks, one of the best rose gardens I've ever seen. Great walks around the estate, good 3 hours to explore most if it! Garden shop, few little cafes around, massive car park. Planing visit- online ticket booking is a must. It's very, very busy so worth visiting first thing in the morning- it's still looks like queues to London underground. Lunchtime place is fully packed, you'll walk shoulder to shoulder so better to avoid.

Went on a free entry day, the weather was very hot and sunny but there was plenty of shade to keep you cool. Some of the paths are steep and uneven so unsuitable for anyone with walking difficulties but just after entering and around the house it is reasonably level if still a little uneven under foot. As you leave there are areas to buy plants and shrubs &craft shops etc. As you approach the car park there is a lovely cafe. All told a nice place and well worth a visit.

Saw this was close to our campsite and the nephew wanted to visit. Although pricey to enter, the gardens were lovely and there was plenty of ground to walk around and plants to see even if you're not an avid gardener. The staff were helpful and advised us of good routes to take and the gardener answered questions about the plants from my nephew which was lovely. The cafe was standard but nice. If I had to make suggestions that would make it a 5* it would be more homemade stuff in the cake and maybe kids activities pack (such as spot the plants on the map or similar) . Would recommend and would visit again.

Fantastic place to visit, explored the whole garden with ease. Beautiful flowers and waterfalls all over the garden. Dog friendly, decent toilets and a cafe. There's a step free route and other routes you can take to explore a bit further. Spent around 3 hours here and bought some lovely gifts at the shops.

An amazing place to visit been in winter and summer. Grounds are well kept, walks and views are wonderful, really well looked after. Some places are a bit tricky if your disabled, but if a lovely day great place for a picnic. Shops and restaurants on site and in summer a small cafe open in the lower gardens. We had a ice-cream from cafe was best we have had. Also they do weddings as was one on when we visited.

Lovely garden to wall around with so many different paths to take. Top tip - get a map on entry as it was very useful to make sure we didn't miss anything. Map also shows all steps and steep slopes which is very handy for those who need to avoid them. Staff were friendly all around, toilets clean and site was clean too. Not many bins around the paths. Plenty of benches to take a rest or to look at the beautiful views. Purchased ice cream, some nice different flavours to the standard ones - I recommend the lotus biscoff one! Shops at the end are not national trust but there is plenty to see including loads of artwork available to purchase. Routes could be better marked out on the paths themselves and would benefit from having more signposts to show the way to certain parts. Visited on a weekend, quite busy as it does seem to be a popular one but still managed to get some good photos and sit down if we wanted to. Overall, great family day out, would return.

It’s a magical place. I had gone in search of the laburnum arch which is definitely beautiful but then I realised how the whole place is a paradise . It’s like out of a fairy trail. 15 pounds entry ticket for adults. Cafes inside for snack break. Lively trails to follow. The map guides you all the way. The shops at exit provide you keepsakes which are beautiful to take back other than all the memories that you create at this wonderland .

This place is simply one of the most beautiful gardens that I've seen in my life. One that day in June my eyes saturated with beauty 😄. You can park freely and it has plenty of spaces. There are toilets before the entrance, before the exit and near a café in the walking paths. You can find different type of vegetations, plants and flowers every where. Try the footpaths which give you stunning views. There's a craft shop before exit which you can find unique and beautiful items.

Beautiful garden with something to see in every season. Plenty of car parking with cafe and toilets at the entrance to the car park. You get into the garden, which is on the opposite side of the road to the car park, via a pedestrian underpass. Formal gardens with lawns and water features leading down to a dell via meandering woodland paths. Dogs allowed on certain days of the week and there is another cafe, well stocked garden centre and craft shops once you have entered the garden.

Gardens are without a doubt 5/5. Really stunning and after 2.5hrs we still hadn't seen everything. Wonderful, friendly staff. The downside was the food at the cafe by the entrance. We had a ham & cheese sandwich which had very little filling and tasted stale. The garden soup was basically unseasoned water with LOTS of celery, onions and peas. I eat a lot of soup and this was not a soup at all. The bloomer and butter that came with it was delicious as were the cakes and coffees. Overall a really wonderful day out, but next time I'll bring a packed lunch.

Beautiful place, absolutely worth my National Trust membership. Lots of walking but still didn't get to see all of it - being there at opening time is a must! Staff were wonderfully helpful and friendly. Another visit to explore more of the gardens is a definite!

A lovely and well-tended garden of which the NT can be proud. The hard-working volunteers were busy tending to the Autumnal tidying of paths and lawns, keeping them in supreme order, the nuts and bolts of garden maintenance. We visited during mid-October and many of the trees were still in Summer green with a sprinkle of golden areas. Plenty of flowers were still in bloom, but the roses were past their best and being deadheaded as required. Wheelchair/disabled access was well marked on the free map, with longer walks laid out for the more fit and active visitor on a partly sloping site. Excellent afternoon visit on a sunny but chilly day.

Even though the gardens are beautiful and tranquil, we really struggled with a wheelchair. We were told there was a Mobility route but it was badly signposted. Bigger and clearer signs are needed. The tea room was very nice, and not too expensive.

Beautiful setting, all gardens and plants are incredibly well maintained, plenty of places for a picnic or cafe has reasonable selection of. Food and drink, staff working here were all pleasant. Website recommends choosing a time-slot for your arrival time as it can get busy, we did, but on arrival it wasn’t asked for and we just had NT cards scanned and walked in. Looking forward to revisiting again as we didn’t get to see everything in one day

Fantastic place to visit, the vast array of flowers, shrubs and trees is amazing, the grounds are very well looked after, beautiful place to walk. It was an extremely busy day, we had to book a time slot which wasn't an issue but the car park including the overflow car park was full, the car park attendants were very helpful and friendly, luckily we managed to find a spot. My only criticism is there needs to be sign posts along the different walking routes, I was with my elderly mother who needed the toilet and thought we were walking towards the Old Mill but ended up at the waterfall bridge and there is nothing wrong with my map reading skills 😂 the handy map they give to visitors shows a red route which is the step free route and a blue route which is suitable for wheelchair users but no signs to offer guidance and so many different paths it's easy to go the wrong way. I would highly recommend visiting though and definitely worth a visit if you are a National trust member.

Fantastic place to visit. Lots of hills and steps but so much to see and it changes each time I've been with the different seasons. Lots of benches to sit and admire the views and plenty of birds to spot.We spent some of the day watching dippers near the waterfall. Would totally recommend. Free entry if you're a National Trust member.

Such an incredible place! Mature trees, lovely streams, beautiful terraces and the most beautiful, well-kept gardens! It was a grey day when we visited, but it still had a healthy number of visitors As NT members, it was a no-brainer. If we weren’t members, we’d still have gone So much to see, and so many paths and walkways to explore. Steeped in history, and lovingly cared for, this has to be up there as one of the best kept NT Gardens!!!

  • 5/5 Karen H. 8 months ago on Google
Best garden visited on our trip. Parking was easy & close to the entry, we walked straight to the ticket office with no wait. Despite the large number of visitors, we were able to find lots of quiet spots. A must visit when in North Wales.

  • 5/5 Robin C. 7 months ago on Google
Visited as part of the national trust membership. Can't recommend the membership enough. So many trails to walk a task to walk down and walk back up. But as a family of six, we had so much fun slipping and sliding around the wet walk ways. On a dry day would of been a better and easier walk but we had a fantastic time seeing some amazing sites and making memory's. Kids park was in the car park and personally we was a little underwhelmed but the main gardens and walks were mind blowing.

One of the best places we have visited in the UK. Italian terraces are beautiful with the roses. Laburnum arch is incredible and needs no advertisement. Plenty of space to roam and relax. Kids had a great time. Can easily spend a full day there.

Incredible, „out of this world“ place. The gardens are stunning - it is like walking through different fairy lands. About 85 acres of plants, landscaping etc. Probably one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to

  • 5/5 Damien V. 8 months ago on Google
This garden is incredible. We spent 2 hours here because if wish we had more time. The garden is well taken care of, it’s pleasant to walk. There is also a small waterfall. They have a coffee shop nested inside the garden. It was a really lovely place for a coffee. Our drinks were good. They use reusable plastic cups here, great idea!

  • 5/5 Pete C. 8 months ago on Google
A beautiful garden, well worth a visit. The most impressive thing about the site must be the trees, they're magnificent! Built on a series of terraces this is a quirky place that's obviously been well-loved and used by the house owners. The trust have been busy creating some lovely herbaceous planting that's a credit to the gardeners. The private garden centre is well stocked with heathy plants and shrubs and the staff know their stuff and are happy to share their knowledge. The two cafés sell good food and excellent coffee, so you'll not go hungry or thirsty!

  • 5/5 Andrés B. 8 months ago on Google
Amazing place for a walk if you like gardens/nature. Beautiful plants and flowers. Really nice views and a fantastic waterfall. There are two places to eat there as well. They don't have a mobility scooter (I think it's probably because of how steep some places are) but they do offer wheel chairs and even a mountain trike. The staff was most welcoming.

  • 5/5 Marian A. 8 months ago on Google
Bodnant Garden is an absolutely stunning garden with lots of lovely trails to enjoy. We stopped at numerous beauty spots with amazing views over the gardens. There is also a lovely gift shop and garden centre, I could have stayed there the whole day! Wear comfy trainers as there are some long walks and places where you need to be steady on your feet, such as stepping stones. A great family day out with lots to explore!
