A lovely, small, intimate retreat a short drive from Sydney, reminiscent of an African safari lodge. Our bush suite was luxurious and comfortable with a private plunge pool to enjoy exclusively, with stunning views over the Sydney basin. We particularly enjoyed the all inclusive nature of the package and the delicious meals the chefs prepared each night, being extremely accommodating with my dietary restrictions. The only area we noticed that could be improved is the general cleanliness of the property. Understanding that we stayed in January, post Covid, with staff shortages in hospitality a real challenge, and having awareness that the retreat is located in the bush, we overlooked this lack of attention detail such as dirty windows, insect screens and messy leafy outdoor seating areas. Hence the 4 star score. The staff were all well-trained, reflecting Australian service standards, efficient but not immensely friendly or engaging. The arrival and departure procedures were stock standard, nothing memorable. This did not detract from a special few days at the resort however, it is a lovely setting for couples seeking a private get-away in close proximity to Sydney.

A beautiful retreat but well over priced compared to experiences at other luxury retreats in NSW. Enjoyed the stay but for the price paid we were disappointed and expected more. Stayed in the chief suite for 2 nights. Tiles in the pool drummy, 2 curtains not working and a screen door that doesn’t lock on ground floor. Very basic mini bar, no care products, no bench space near the basin. A small tap that just makes the huge basin to attempt to wash your hands and very loose not siliconed in. Apart from being all inclusive we requested a cheese board and were offered an upgrade to cold meats for $80.. we just paid over $5,500k for 2 nights, not sure how that works. I would imagine a few extra price of cold meats would be included and the cheese board wasn’t much anyway. For the amount paid the suite should be well maintained and luxurious. The food is delicious and the staff are friendly. It is very clean The sauna is never on, you have to request it in advance and unfortunately one time we did and it still wasn’t put on so we missed out that day because after dinner was too late.

We eloped at Sangoma and will be coming back every year. The team were attentive, warm and friendly. They ensured our stay and wedding was perfect from the moment we drove up the driveway. The food... AMAZING! The taste and presentation first class. A place to chillax and take in the atmosphere and beauty of Sangoma.

This is the ultimate place to relax and be pampered while enjoying outdoor activities at your leisure. You will not regret the decision to go to this retreat and be pampered while enjoying magnificent cuisine.

Flew from Brisbane to stay at this retreat over Easter break and it has exceeded expectations with the amazing team working at Spicers Sangoma. To all the staff, thank you for going well above and beyond to ensure our arrival, stay and departure has been a heavenly experience. Will definitely return!

Spicers Sangoma is the most relaxing, luxuriously balanced experience near Sydney. We've stayed at Sangoma several times as we simply love the quiet, friendly and cosy setting. We found it to be a lot more accessible and not as expensive as say One and Only Wolgan Valley, yet similar in comfort and service. The team work hard, long hours to make sure the guests are well looked after. The food is remarkable, so much so it deserves a separate review. The in-room all inclusive refrigerator packs Taittinger Champagne, craft beers and Australia wines along with premium soft drinks and delicious snacks. Spa treatments are generous and take you to cloud nine. I would only add a small gym, after all exercise cam also help you relax!

Beautiful solitary location just to enjoy the Australian bush, with short or long walks, beautiful food and wine and the service was really special. Thanks for making our stay so lovely.

Wonderful 2 nights at Spicers Sangoma. Luxury accommodation, exquisite meals, impeccable service. We were even provided a lovely picnic lunch on our second day when we drove to Katoomba to do a day hike. Look forward to our return!
