My best friend and I dropped into Hunter Distillery (our absolute favorite distillery) on Tuesday and met Chloe for the first time. Her bubbly and welcoming personality was just one of the many wonderful things about our experience. Her knowledge and passion for the company was very apparent and we absolutely loved having her for our tasting experience. We were already huge fans because of the incredible tastes but wanted to say thank you for making our day with your above and beyond customer service and your wonderful company! See you soon!

Came here to have a browse of the selection on a dime, and instead was offered a spontaneous tasting despite not booking prior. Chris sat us down and expertly took us through a selection of gins, vodkas and liqueurs that completely changed our minds on Vodka after drinking way too much throughout university. This was an absolute highlight of our trip to the Hunter, and I could not recommend coming here and experiencing the incredible staff and amazing spirits. We left proud owners of some gin, vodka and liqueurs after this experience. Thanks Chris and Hunter Distillery for a fantastic time, we'll definitely be back!

Nice addition to a wine tour in the valley. Fun tasting experience. The spirits themselves were not phenomenal. Not on par with good grappa, chacha or similar. Some extreme spirits to be found - a vodka with 77% alcohol, aged in oak and also chili spiced spirits. Bought the vodka, returned home. Now regretting is a bit - is not really worth the substantial price.

An enjoyable tasting experience. The staff member we interacted with was very friendly. It costs $5 for 10 samples which you don't pay if you buy one of their products. A lot of interesting flavours to try. The honey vodka and gin were quite good. Ended up purchasing the honeydew melon liqueur which was fantastic.

Four of us visited the Distillery earlier today and we were thoroughly entertained and were greeted by the lovely Amber. Amber was an absolutely wonderful host, and she went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience whilst enjoying the taste testing. We will definitely re-visit whenever we’re back in the Hunter. Great place, and memorable experience. Thanks guys.👍😃

We visited on Sunday 21st May at 2pm. The tasting experience itself was pleasant, but after we spent some time casually chatting with the staff during the tasting, the lady who served us began to make openly judgmental remarks about some of the other women to previously enter the distillery, which made me very uncomfortable and ready to leave. I didn't stick around to finish the tasting or buy any products because I just wanted out. When I hear people so casually and openly badmouth customers just because of the way they dress, or how they look, it makes me wonder how welcome or safe anyone can feel coming in here. Please talk to your staff about showing empathy and respect towards patrons, even if they look different. These comments weren't intentionally directed at me or my travel companions, so perhaps the staff member assumed she wasn't upsetting anybody, but it was hurtful and had a real negative impact on our experience.

A great place to visit. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. They take the extra time to answer any questions you have. Nothing is too difficult for them. The tasting is only $5 and then they'll waive the $5 if you buy something from them. That's what separates them from all the others. Customers first..!!!!

A must try for the Hunter Valley. A bit of a different feel from going from winery to winery this is a stop you should definitely take in between your tastings. The lychee liqueur is my favourite.

We didn’t have a booking but they fit us in anyway on a busy weekend which was great of them. We were served by Tristan and he was the best! He took his time with us and we had a great conversation, absolute legend. We have been visiting the Hunter for a few years and every time we come the distillery is always the friendliest, laid back place we go to.

We had a tasting session with Tristan, he was amazing! We had a vegan in our group and he went above and beyond to clarify what choices in the range she could enjoy! He also had a good laugh with us and just made the experience great! The butterscotch schnapps is amazing also!

Absolutely delightful. Walked in perhaps a little later than we should have and Travis was ready to provide all the information we required. We enjoyed a tasting of some of the most delicious liquors, Vodka and Gin. We left the Distillery ~$330 poorer but with a selection of fine bottles. Travis is the perfect host as well as being thoroughly professional. We also acknowledge the excellent attitude of Cessnock City Council for providing budget/free RV parking within their Shire. We value an area that caters for all travellers and we usually spend a good deal of money whilst visiting. In the past few days we have spent $800+ in this area. Thank you

After visiting this place 3 years ago and loving it, I was excited to get back there but was left extremely disappointed :( Not alot of flavours as I remembered and the staff were all over the place and spacey. Samples were like drinking sanitizer, seemed poorly made. Will not be back unless they improve their stock and flavours.

Home-brew distilling neutral base on a large scale. Hazelnut liqueur is god awful. Poured it down the drain. Smells good, but the astringency is a little overwhelming, like you put too much almond essence in it. Save your money and go buy boutique spirits or store bought. If you're inclined or have the time, go distill your own. It'd still be better than this stuff. Pun intended.

Lovely place in the hunter valley. Their spirits and liqueurs have strong flavours ($5 for tasting 6, this is taken off of bottle prices if you buy one).

Pros: pet friendly. But sadly didn’t even get to the point of going to get my dog out of the car because wowww unbelievably rude lady at the bar. Don’t bother. Highly recommend driving 5km down the road to Polkobin Distillery for stunning/ architectural space, good options for tasting and super friendly staff. Happily spent my $$ there.

Loved the tasting experience here. The staff were super friendly and the range was huge compared to a few others I have been to. Dog friendly inside which is a huge plus!

This is an excellent stop to taste a good range of distilled products. The staff member who served us was very knowledgeable and took time to explain the process of making the various drinks. We mostly enjoyed the schnapps and liqueurs and purchased a few bottles. I particularly enjoyed the hazelnut and lychee liqueurs.

Went to do a tasting at the distillery today and thoroughly enjoyed it! $5 for 6 generous samples (they could easily charge more), and learned all about the quality that is put into these, everything done by Hunter Distillery - so if you are questioning the price, know you are paying for quality ingredients. I would have bought a few bottles if it weren’t for an upcoming flight home to Canada!

This place is bloody grouse! Couldn’t recommend the products more. Nick (the staff member who served us) was fantastic. Super friendly and knowledgeable. He can describe the flavour so well that you will be watering at the mouth over their flavours. Definitely check it out

Came down to the distillery to do a tasting with a friend that I haven’t seen for 11 years. Amber and Travis were incredibly friendly, welcoming and up for a great laugh. Brought home some Mango Liqueur but also thoroughly enjoyed the popcorn and toasted marshmallow liqueur as well as the Mystery Gin! Highly recommend this place to anyone in the Hunter Region.

Great place to taste gin and vodka after you have done with other red and white wines like they are too ordinary to you, then come to this place. $5/pp for wine tasting and they give you each 6 experiment tubes to try 6 types of wines. Great experience and very friendly staff. Highly recommend to book in advance, they are also very responsive.

The Hunter Distillery offers a nice break from all the wine tasting, assuming you like vodka, schnaps and gin! Lol. And even if you're not a huge fan, they have a vast amount of different flavours available that you'll surely be able to find something you like.

while in the hunter valley for my birthday, we decide to do a tasting at the distillery. We were welcomed by the most friendly and professional staff i have ever come across. Special mention to Melissa who was our tasting host. Highly recommend!

Loved popping into the Hunter Distillery. So many fantastic drinks to try, we loved all the schnapps and mystery gin. People running the tastings were super friendly and very knowledgeable about all the products. I guess you have to love a job when you get to taste so many yummy drinks and feed people shots.

Vodkas and Gins and Liqueurs Oh My. What a great experience. An amazing range to try ( Was so hard to pick a favourite). A couple of must tries are the Mystery gin, Caramel Vodka, Vanilla Vodka, HONEY Vodka, Butterscotch or Turkish Delight or Ginger Liqueurs. I could go on. A huge thank you to our host to Neil and our Informative Taster Cathy for making or visit so enjoyable. Thanks again to all at Hunter Distillery CHEERS.

Definitely worth dropping in for tasting, some delicious varieties of Gin, Vodka and Liqueurs. Think caramel Vodka & mint chocolate liqueur and so much more! Staff did a great job of accomodating us at short notice, much appreciated!

The flavoured vodkas and liqueurs are just amazing! Friendly staff and very accommodating for a last minute booking. I recommend trying the chilli vodka on a cold day as the heat hits you hard! My eyes were sweating.

This is where I always buy my favourite Butterscotch Schnapps when I'm in the Hunter Valley, they also do so many other flavours, which are also very tasty, plus Gin, if you like your Gin, comes in different flavours as well.

The range of flavours liqueurs is amazing (and dangerous in how it doesn't taste alcoholic!). The gins and vodkas are also so good and so unique! We had a great time at the tasting. The price is very reasonable. We will definitely be stocking up every few months!
