ndonesia’s most iconic landmark and historical site in the centre of Jakarta. The place is huge and no cars are allowed inside. It is quite a walk from the gate to the centre of the monument and up to the highest vantage point. It is a very good view of Jakarta from above the monument. If you are going up the monument, please come early to avoid the queue as there is only a single lift which accommodate 8 people each trip.

You can go to the top of the monument for views of the City. Suggest you get tickets early and after purchase do sightseeing stuff after as I had to wait three hours for my slot. Was up there for just 20 mins but glad I did it.

I was so happy came here. Bcs that my first time to visited the Indonesia's most iconic landmark in the center of Jakarta. This place I dreamed of long ago. Although I have been to Jakarta quite often since I was little, but this is my first time.I was very excited. Ah i really enjoyed there, althought i'm not really satisfied, lol. This is the most popular place that you have to visit if you go to Jakarta! Very huge and large. There is a park, and actually big National Monument at the center. Ah, you can enter to monument by stairs. Then, there is some elevators which can bring you to the top of monument! You can see the view of Jakarta!! Amazing!

👍: -Probably the most iconic monument in Jakarta, a must visit if you are here. -Do note that there are only a few entrances from the park to the interior of the monument. -There is a free shuttle bus that brings you from the park to the monument itself. Look out for bus stands in the park. -It is free to enter the park but you have to pay and entrance fee if you want to enter the monument itself. There are two options, one for the basement museum and another slightly more expensive one that allows you to go to the higher levels, do note there is usually a queue for that though. -The basement is an air conditioned area that showcases the history of the country and city. Very informative and insightful. 👎: -Nothing, loved it!

(Translated by Google) 2018 Dec National Monument. The third time, and all three, are different. This condition is Monas in the morning, when the new gate actually opened once, and we were even in the second queue to go up to the top, The view of the city of Jakarta really spoils the eye with the view that is presented is the density of the capital as seen from the 137m high memorial monument tower. The conditions inside are so clean, and really well maintained. Overall, this place is thrilling, because it brings us to the people's struggle to free themselves from the colonial colonialism of Belana and establish Indonesia's name in the world record as their Meredeka State. (Original) 2018 Dec Monumen Nasional.

132m/433ft high. Completed in 1975. The flame on top is gold-plated. There are reliefs surrounding the monument that worth taking a picture. The entrance to the monument is through the underground passage. There's a museum dedicated to Indonesian history and independence in the base.

We visited on Thursday, arrived at entrance at 15:00 but ticket to the top was sold out and the museum already closed. The employees were busy to get ready to go home. Day was just getting cooler to enjoy such a big park. Good exercise up and down stairs but not much to see honestly, very disappointing. Free shuttle bus is provided from/ to SW Gate (Patung Kuda).

The National monument of Indonesia. A popular place for people to gather on weekends and holidays. The structure is located in the center of a park area that also contains various food and souvenir stores as well as park area to relax in. A small fee to enter the structure via an underground tunnel. Inside there is a small museum where many people shelter from the heat. You can climb up to the top of the structure which provides a nice view of the surroundings. Definitely worth visiting if you are in Jakarta.

I stayed in central Jakarta and the first thing to check out is the Monas Monument and Park area, I took a one hour walk there from my hotel, and even on the way there, there were statues to check out (great for selfies). once in the park its basically a place to picnic and with here and there something else to see. The main attraction would be to go up the monument and see Jakarta from above (I never went in because the lines were too long and I don't like lines).

This is THE icon of Jakarta... For licensed drone pilots, the gold-tipped monument is also the ultimate spot to fly LEGALLY because of the strict airspace/local/security clearance that has to be obtained before one is allowed to fly within its premises without getting into trouble. Once all of that is taken care of, it’s really worth the effort....

(Translated by Google) The view from above is truly extraordinary. You can play binoculars to see around Monas. And for those who want to learn Indonesian history, Monas is the most suitable place in my opinion. And to see the view from above you only need to pay for the ticket, then wait your turn. For those who are waiting, you need to be patient, because there are so many queues. But when it's above, it's really good to be able to see around Monas clearly (Original) Pemandangan dari atas bener bener luarbiasa.

(Translated by Google) If you go to Monas it's better in the afternoon or evening, visits on weekdays are usually not crowded, so it's good to play at Monas. For weekends & certain days, if it's busy, I can't enjoy it, where to queue (take the bus / go to the toilet / enter Monas / to the top). Because the Monas area is large, maybe you can add it to the toilet in general so you don't have to walk far to the toilet first. Btw, if you want to eat here, you have to be smart in choosing, because many of those who visit from outside the city are pricy and not that good. Mending gofood aja dehh

The National independence Monument, nicknamed Monas, is a huge monument in the middle of Merdeka Square. It is made of Italian marble and topped with a sculpted gold leaf flame. If you would like to ride to the top, entrance is via an underground tunnel and costs about $3 USD. Try to go early to ensure you get a ticket as they do sell out, which is to say, I did not make it to the top.

Impressive monument from the outside. It's closed because of the military parade so we only saw it from the outside. We'll have to go back some other time to really get a better feel of the place.

Sehr interessanter Ort.

Amazing structure that celebrates Indonesia’s independence from the Dutch, with surrounding parks and areas to relax. Came here during Naval celebrations, so there was a lot of military equipment and soldiers on display. Really cool to walk around and see all the ceremonies and the equipment lineups! Overall, the monument is very peaceful, and you could tell that the general population that were visiting were very proud to be there. Definitely a landmark you should visit if you’re ever in Jakarta.

On the ground floor there is museum that tells story about how Indonesia was formed, also there are many illustration that makes you immerse. If you want to go to the top of Monas, you need to come earlier because only 100 people every hour can go to the top. Don't worry, there are minibus that can take you from entrance to parking area also from parking area to entrance of monas.

The National Monument (Indonesian: Monumen Nasional, abbreviated Monas) is a 132 m (433 ft) obelisk in the centre of Merdeka Square, Central Jakarta, symbolizing the fight for Indonesia. It is the national monument of the Republic of Indonesia, built to commemorate the struggle for Indonesian independence. Construction began in 1961 under the direction of President Sukarno. Monas was opened to the public in 1975. It is topped by a flame covered with gold foil. The towering monument encapsulates the philosophy of Lingga and Yoni. Lingga resembles an alu rice pestle and Yoni resembles a lesung rice mortar, two important traditional Indonesian tools. Lingga and Yoni also symbolize harmony, balance, fertility and eternal life with the lingga phallic symbol, representing masculinity, positive elements, and daytime and the Yoni the female organs symbol, representing femininity, negative elements, and night. #monas #jakarta

National Monument (Monas) - This is the symbolic emblem of Jakarta, Indonesia and a place to commemorate the history of Indonesian independence. Monas is imposing and beautiful, it is very worthwhile to know this Jakarta icon up close. It has a beautiful top made from real gold, which can be noticed from afar. Accessible from various points in Jakarta by public transport or simply by ordering online driver! Easy access, a lot of restaurants and streetfood vendor nearby, beautiful views and many tourists pass there every day, really cool to spend the day in this historical place, unique architecture

It is a nice place to visit. Be careful while buying the ticket for a ride to the top deck. The whole process is mismanaged and there is no sanctity for your time. I got a slot at 12 noon and left after waiting till 1.30 pm. The museum captures the history of Indonesia beautifully.

A little wait and then up you go to the top of Monas! Enjoy the views of mostly the smog in Jakarta. It is Indonesia's iconic monument to celebrate independence and worth a visit for that reason.
