I
came
into
this
gym
wanting
a
tour
as
I’m
new
to
the
area
and
was
shopping
around
for
a
new
gym.
This
was
gym
#3
that
I
visited
that
day.
I
told
the
front
desk
that
I’m
looking
for
a
new
gym
and
would
like
a
tour.
As
I
waited,
I
couldn’t
help
but
notice
that
the
front
desk
customer
service
skills
weren’t
the
best.
A
particular
female
staff
was
not
greeting
the
members
that
greeted
her.
Eventually
another
female
walked
up
to
me.
I
thought
it
was
a
member.
I
was
taken
back
at
her
appearance.
This
female
employee
was
wearing
pink
neon
sandals,
hair
tied
up
in
a
messy
look,
sloppy
attire,
just
very
unpolished
overall.
Grant
it,
I
am
aware
that
this
is
a
gym
facility
and
the
employees
are
going
to
dress
the
part.
I
myself
have
worked
at
Planet
Fitness,
LA
Fitness
and
24
Hour
Fitness
so
I
am
very
well
aware
of
what
an
employee’s
uniform
in
a
gym
setting
looks
like.
Laid
back,
sporty
and
casual
for
the
most
part,
depending
on
the
gym.
But
the
professionalism
this
female
that
walked
up
to
me
imposed,
was
second
to
none.
From
her
attire
to
her
attitude.
We
went
to
a
room
with
corporate
looking
desks
and
she
sat
down.
Confused,
I
followed
suit.
I
sat
down
in
front
of
her.
I
asked
“am
I
able
to
see
the
gym?”
She
said
yes.
She
continued
to
settle
in
her
chair
looking
for
something.
I
noticed
her
name
tag.
It
read
‘Nicole,
Tanning/Juice
Bar
Manager’
I
then
said
“Is
your
name
Nicole?”
She
said
“yes”
I
said
“Hi
Nicole
it’s
nice
to
meet
you”
She
smiled.
She
then
proceeds
to
pull
out
a
menu
of
membership
rates.
She
then
quickly
explains
the
menu.
It
was
clear
that
her
only
goal
was
to
get
through
everything
as
quickly
as
she
could.
I
asked
her
to
re-explain
and
backtrack
a
few
times
because
she
was
speeding.
At
the
end,
she
assumed
I
was
going
to
sign
up.
I
told
her
I’d
like
to
see
the
gym.
Not
to
my
surprise,
she
sped
through
the
tour
as
well.
I
found
myself
asking
her
many
questions
because
she
wasn’t
explaining
anything.
She
walked
so
fast
that
I
had
to
slow
down
the
pace
myself.
The
gym
itself
was
beautiful,
I
was
taken
back
at
how
many
things
it
has
to
offer,
so
I
was
extremely
interested
in
checking
out
all
spaces
we
walked
by.
Her
on
the
other
hand,
was
eager
to
get
the
tour
over
with,
it
was
prevalent
by
her
demeanor.
She
was
over
it
the
second
she
came
into
contact
with
me
on
the
couches.
We
got
to
the
bathroom.
Her
attitude
remained
the
same.
“This
is
here,
that
is
there”
I
on
the
other
hand,
like
to
take
my
time
(within
reason)
to
check
things
out,
especially
the
cleanliness
of
the
locker
rooms,
especially
because
I’ve
worked
in
3
different
gyms,
especially
because
I
know
exactly
what
to
look
for.
As
I
was
checking
the
bathroom
out,
I
was
also
checking
her
behavior
out.
She
was
completely
checked
out
at
this
point,
if
she
wasn’t
already
from
the
beginning.
She
was
completely
disengaged,
leaning
against
a
wall
while
I
was
looking
around,
face
glued
to
her
phone.
We
went
on
to
walk
the
rest
of
the
gym.
I
am
going
to
keep
repeating
myself
if
I
continue
explaining
to
you
the
tour.
Pretty
much
it
remained
the
same.
Disconnected,
disengaged,
uninterested
in
explaining
anything
to
me,
me
asking
a
ton
of
questions
and
me
taking
myself
on
the
tour.
At
the
end
of
the
tour,
I
told
her
that
I
loved
the
gym
but
did
not
like
her.
At
all.
Nicole’s
customer
service
was
terrible.
I
am
huge
on
customer
service
as
I’ve
worked
in
it
for
10
years
myself
as
the
face
of
the
company,
in
every
company,
including
3
well
known
gyms.
As
an
employee
in
a
management
position,
Nicole’s
attitude
was
a
disgrace.
I
had
explained
to
her
that
her
customer
service
skills
sucked
and
for
that
reason
I
did
not
join.
I
did
not
feel
welcomed
there
at
all.
Her
excuse
was
that
she’s
pregnant.
I
told
her
that
is
no
excuse.
The
gym
itself
is
beautiful,
and
has
a
lot
to
offer,
but
because
I
felt
like
a
bother
to
her,
I
ultimately
decided
not
to
give
this
gym
my
business.
I
hope
this
goes
to
show
how
important
it
is
to
make
patrons
feel
welcomed,
and
that
their
business
will
be
appreciated.
And
I
did
not
feel
that
way
at
all
at
Signature
Fitness
in
Belleville.
