Love Greek food? Then run, don't walk to Stamna. Consistently excellent, beautiful presentations, generous portions, (great for sharing), fresh, tasty, delicious. There is a reason why they are busy, people go where they know that the food is great, service is excellent, atmosphere is comfortable and pleasant, and prices are reasonable. Bring your own, and pick anything you like on the menu... It's all wonderful. Make sure to end with dessert!

Large restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining. Occasionally, you get a dry salmon dish. Bronzino, lemon potatoes and Greek salad make a good dinner.

Good for a taste of Greek flavors. I’m not a frequent Mediterranean/Greek food diner so I’ll just provide input based on what little I’m familiar with. First visit to their Bloomfield location though we’ve eaten at their Little Falls location. I recall this location to be much more spacious. I wanted to try their pork chops, but though they smelled great they ended up rather dry. The juiciest Greek pork chops I’ve had still come from Ambeli in Cranford! The fillet of branzino was pretty good, and the baklava was sweet as expected. Overall this was okay.

The food is very delicious and authentic. I’ve been there several times, and they were lovely. But when I ordered from home, they put a complimentary dessert. As a Mediterranean person, this little simple courtesy made me feel like I was at home and made me very happy. If you want to eat quality Greek food and hang out in a friendly, thoughtful restaurant, you should try it!

Great experience! We really enjoyed just about every part of the restaurant. As you can see we ordered several items. They bring you a crispy bread with olive oil and oregano when you sit down. It was very good and you can tell they use quality oil. We started with the spicy feta dip and the cheese balls. Both we very tasty! Pita comes out hot and almost crispy. For entrées we got the pork gyro platter and the stuffed peppers (& tomato). The platter was very filling and delicious. The server (Joe) recommended the pork. He told us that in Greece pork gyros are more common and lamb is less common. It was interesting so I gave it a try and my God. It was fire! Perfect pieces of salty, crispy pork. I made little gyro sandwiches and loved them! The stuffed pepper was different and good. Again you can tell all the ingredients are fresh and quality. Service was very good, no complaints. Price was it's a steal. I don't usually say this, but I would have thought the bill would have been at least $20 dollars more expensive. Also there is parking in the back it appears, I didn't know this and ended up parking around the corner. Would absolutely recommend you give this place a try, I know we will be back! Overall I give Stamna Taverna a 4.6 out of 5, an NJ must visit!

I asked to customize their traditional gyro for a shrimp gyro, and they were happy to. It was flavorful and their tzatziki sauce.. so yummy! Their baklava, on the other hand not so great. If you're into heavy cinnamon taste, then it's def a treat for you to try. It is BYOB, which is great, and their next to a Wine & Country as a perk. I love the warmer days because you can sit outdoors, but inside is just as pretty with an authentic Greek touch.

Braised lamb wrapped in Parchment was insane. Grape leaves were the best i ever had. Bronzino and Octopus cooked perfectly. Very casual restaurant offering great value. bypb

Used to go to Stamna in its original location just a few doors down years ago. Have been dying to go back, and spent my birthday dinner there which did not disappoint. Tony was our waiter, he was attentive, and hilarious, contributing to a wonderful evening. The food was delicious, we had a few appetizers and entrees for all. We left full, happy, and happy eager to come back.

I’m no expert in Greek food but I do love a good Taramosalata… which was delicious and the amount they served was crazy !!! But the best part of this visit was meeting the owner and her son, who let us tried a whole bunch of goodies that they had received from vendors !!! That’s the type of place I want to visit more often … the ones that make you feel like home !! Go .. sit at the bar and enjoy !

I purchased a chicken gyro platter for $20, but unfortunately, the quality of the food was disappointing. The portions were separated in the photo to demonstrate this. The food seemed old and not fresh, and the fries were cold and overcooked, as if they had been sitting for a long time. The salad lacked flavor and consisted mostly of the lettuce base. The pita bread was also soft and seemed stale. Sadly, I was disappointed with my purchase and only ate a small amount of the food. It was a waste of money.

The absolute best. If I could eat here everyday, I would. Food is ALWAYS GREAT. I have been dining here and doing takeout for years and it has never changed. All of the staff is amazing too. Great for a quick little meal (like a salad or gyro) or an all out dinner as the appetizers are amazing and the whole fish entrees are as good as any seafood restaurant out there!

We had a family dinner there last Sunday and we had a lovely time. Delicious authentic food. ( We specially loved the seafood) Delicious salads ( olives and feta were very tasty), appetizers, and also the lamb kabob. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The place also has a great ambiance - unpretentious and very welcoming. Highly recommend.

Good food and excellent service. I ordered the seafood platter and the sauteed shrimp. Both were tasty but could have been better.

Food was good, loved the octopus appetizer. The feta cheese pies were also very tasty as usual, however some of the cheese in the middle of some of them seemed to not be cooked, and we're cold in the center. As for entree, I ordered the pork chops, medium. They tasted okay, however a little bland and tasted a little too charred for my liking. As well, they were cooked moreso around medium well to well, with most of the middle having very minimal pink, almost non-existent. The lemon potatoes that come with the pork, unbelievable. Could eat then every day if I didn't gain weight. Just little things to be honest. But I enjoyed the food for the most part none the less.

I've been to Greece & absolutely fell in love...well..Stamna is so delicious. We did a family dinner tonight. We had amazing fresh appetizers. Grilled octopus which was so tender & seasoned with perfection, dolmas were flavorful & tasty, fried calamari was a hit especially with my 5yr old son. Very light batter. The Greek salad & homemade feta was to die for. I ordered the saganaki which I hadn't had since Greece or being stationed in Germany. Our main courses we had seafood orzo & whole branzino, the vegetable of the day was stewed okra which was good & I ordered the lambchops. I had wanted the mixes grill platter but sadly no lamb gyro. Overall amazing food great service & would without hesitation come again.
