WARNING. Only open to military and DOD employees. We always appreciate these facilities exist and reasonable prices. There are no inexpensive options near Monterey. Very nice manager and camp host. Note that most sites are back in, most are short, and not a lot of room for parking. No fire rings. Google Map it, it is on the runway of Monterey Regional Airport. Fortunately there are no red eye flights but private planes come and go all night. Large, clean bathroom and free laundry. We will be back next year.

Conveniently located on the gorgeous Monterey Pines Golf Course and close the the airport. Disadvantages to consider for light sleepers: airplanes can be heard arriving & departing late into the night and golf course landscaping crew starts maintenance at 0630. Amenities include: paved parking spaces with a picnic table, water and electric, separate bathrooms & showers with a dump station at the exit.

Easy wheelchair access to restrooms & laundry, but steep. Some pads better than others for wheelchair user. Call for res rather than book online if using walker, wheelchair, or special needs. Cool, quiet summer retreat. Golfers' paradise. Older park. Great launch pad to Monterey attractions. Laundry machines old. Laundry & restrooms dusty. Spiderwebs aren't cleared from hook up boxes. Camp host can be overbearing & political (not fond a the Vietnam War) but overall friendly & helpful. Follow the rules & don't engage.

Great location great price. Close to the golf. Has bar and grill on site. Pretty much on the golf course. Only downside is that it's close to an airport and next to the Navy Post Graduate School applied physics lab. They have some facilities that use high speed turbines close by. Very loud. Otherwise, 100% awesome place to stay.

Monterey Pines RV Campground It has water, electric and sewage. Free laundry. Nice shower and warm bathroom. 😊 If you are a Navy veteran, daily rate is $55/ night. Civilian is $95/ night. Decided to stay here for 2 nights. This is not true camping!! However, they start mowing the golf course right next to you at 5 am!! Planes fly above you. If you are a light sleeper, this might not be your choice.

Pro's: very clean bathrooms, FREE laundry, commissary 5-10 minutes away, on a golf course if that is for you. Con's: 85% of the RV park are permanently living here. Some have been there many years. Wifi as in most parks doesn't work, EXTREMELY loud as it is at the end of a busy commercial runway. First night planes came and left at 2230, 0130 and then 0600hrs (look at Google satellite maps), RV park is in the middle of a golf course. This means all of the grass is cut between 0500-0630hrs before golfers tee off. VERY LOUD. If you need peace and quiet this is not the place for you. Finally, as others reviewers have mentioned the park manager moves short term guests RV spots every few days. I couldn't figure it out as there were spaces vacant the entire time we were there. Finally, the park is beautiful and well maintained, however there is nothing that can be done about ALL of the permanent residents taking up the full hookups, loud aircraft all the time and grass cutting starting at 0500hrs.

This campground was very nice but the users need to be aware of the checkout time and adhere to it. The washer/dryers were not working, but new ones were on the way. Its a bit hard to find because of the "hidden" location but lovely once you find it.

Nice campground on a golf course. Friendly camphost, Big trees. I did notice several big campers had trouble getting in their spots, we had to help out a few, the road is a little to small with camp spots parked in the middle. We were in site 38. We are a 44'er ,Yes there were golf balls in our yard, so your taking a chance with balls hitting your camper.

Great stay - agree that many of the sites are out of level. We brought our Anderson leveling system so we were ready. Also had a ramp for our senior dog to get up and down out of the RV since the steps were far off the ground. No issues otherwise.

Nice military owned campground with friendly staff and great (free laundry) facilities. However, their management of sites/reservations is horrible. We booked a 3 night stay but on day 3 we and 4 other campers were asked to moves sites to accommodate incoming rvs. Everyone knows how much of a pain it is to pack up and leave but to do it and move over 5 sites and setup again is absolutely absurd!!

Camp host (Gail) is really nice, and extremely helpful!! Some of the smaller campsites are nice and level, but if you've got a large RV, there's no way to get a decent level unless you have a ridiculous number of lego blocks (we are also using 2x4s under the jacks!). We've been full-time for almost two years, and have just gotten back from a 5000 mile trup around the U.S., and we have NEVER had this much trouble leveling, and never seen a PAVED SITE that was this far out of level. To get out, we are using our two stairs, plus a three step-step stool. This is a real safety issue.

The customer service is so bad it’s funny, which is so disappointing for a military campground. About 50% of the spots are on such a steep incline that unless you come prepared with multiple leveling jacks and blocks you’re going to be living with a significant tilt. Not worth it. Go somewhere else that is cheaper and better to work with.

The pads are not as level as you would like but they have plenty of wood you can use to level your camper. Heated bathrooms and shower rooms were amazing. The camp host was great and being in a secured campground felt safe to leave your things out. First flyover from the nearby airport is 0530 and the mowers from the golf course start at 0600. 3 miles from the aquarium and cannery row. Can't want to come back.

When you get here don't blindly follow Google maps, when you pass the pro shop on your right go straight, don't turn right. The Campground is very nice and in a peaceful location. The bathrooms/showers are some of the cleanest I've ever been to on a military base. I was on site #30 and the pad was pretty level but you can tell other pads are very uneven. I paid $55 which is the most expensive miltary campground I've been to. I was also woken up by the loud planes that go over the campground in the early morning and the grounds keepers of the golf course. I just saw it as my morning alarm and went out for a run. The spots are a little tight to back up also. There were a couple of empty spaces while I stayed here, I recommend this and would come back.

We made our reservations 2 months prior to our trip. The day we were driving there we get a call saying our reservation was changed, we understand things happened but we the reservation was made I asked for paved site, we get there and they had us on the dirt which was completely not leveled and un safe. Rosalie was so rude the next day when we went to talk to- she needs to understand there’s a way of talking to people and still make your point across. So rude!

0 stars for management 5 for host 4 for campground We stayed here 5/22 and the camp host was so nice. We had a great stay, clean showers, free laundry facility. 8/23 we PCSed from SoCal to NorCal. Check out from the command was a “hope we get outta here on this date” type thing so I made two sets of reservations for our possible dates rolling through Monterey. Both dates ended up being bad, we canceled and I made a third reservation. The day before checkin we get a get a voicemail from Rosalie saying the campground was overbooked and she canceled our reservations. She thought she hung up but alas she did not and I have a recording of her bad mouthing me calling me names, saying I was up to something, and some very unprofessional language. Yes, Rosalie I was up to something, a very stressful dual military PCS with a bunch of kids and a dog. Anyway she made up the part about being overbooked because she “is not playing games with a little chickie”. I have the voicemail transcripts and have provided them without response so far but I’ll continue reaching out and following up because this is not how you manage a FamCamp. Why not ask us what’s going on? Thanks for the added stress of finding a place last minute on the coast in early August and the absolute unprofessional voicemail, Ma’am!
