I
have
to
confess,
I
wasn't
sure
I
would
(or
could)
buy
into
the
whole
group
fitness
thing.
But
I
really
needed
to
find
some
sort
of
activity
to
lose
a
little
weight
and
improve
my
overall
health
and
well-being.
Truth
be
told,
I
actually
scoped
out
the
facility
the
day
before
my
first
class,
just
to
get
a
feel
for
what
I
was
getting
into
(I
had
no
idea
what
to
expect).
Fortunately,
the
reconnaissance
mission
didn't
scare
me
off,
so
I
showed
up
for
an
early
morning
3G,
which
felt
like
the
first
day
of
school
for
this
out-of-shape
father
of
three.
The
staff
and
coach
couldn't
have
been
nicer
or
more
welcoming.
And
there
were
several
"regulars"
who
gave
me
helpful
pointers
on
the
various
equipment.
After
the
first
class,
I
decided
to
make
a
commitment
to
walk
the
talk.
(Or
maybe
I
should
say
all-out
run
the
talk.)
As
strange
as
it
might
sound,
the
workouts
are
actually
FUN.
Because
it's
different
every
time.
But
you
can
ALWAYS
count
on
great
music,
energetic
coaches
and
friendly
neighbors
(of
all
shapes
and
sizes)
looking
to
get
their
burn
on.
I've
been
going
to
OTF
pretty
regularly
now
for
five
months
(started
3X
a
week,
now
I'm
trying
to
go
every
other
day),
and
I
not
only
feel
and
look
better,
but
I
can
say
that
this
"group"
is
so
much
more
than
that —
it's
an
inclusive,
encouraging
and
supportive
community.
Which
I'm
very
glad
to
be
a
part
of.
