Friendly welcome. Lots of brochures on Carnarvon and WA in general. Nice to browse the souvenirs and clothing on display. Has a community noticeboard with local activities, including school holiday activities for the kids.

Definitely start here if you are visiting Carnarvon. Very helpful information. Like all places in Carnarvon, you have to be aware of their opening hours.

Caravan Park runs this town and hands out fines that aren't even justified. I visited one mile jetty and it was closed indefinitely due to lack of maintainence. Lack of maintenance sums up the entire town tbh

Threw a curly one when I asked about the road into Brubadgoo (there's lots of different spellings)!!! It's just north of Coral Bay in W.A. The assistant went above and beyond in helping to find the information I needed. Many Thanks.

Don't mention fishing. I did and did not get away with it. I visited the Visitors Centre today and asked about fishing spots. I was given a photocopy of local fishing spots. The female worker then pointed at the spots on a local map with her chin cupped in her hand, no eye contact and a distant and unfriendly demeanour. I asked one question about mud crabs which she completely ignored and continued pointing at the map. I am glad it was not called a Visitors Information Centre, as this would have led me to be disappointed by the lack of information. The name "Visitors Centre" does not lead to any pre-conceived expectation and this female worker met the "no expectation mantra" extremely well. From my experience I would recommend the local Woolworths Staff. They may not be trained to provide "Visitors with a Centre" but they are usually have a pleasant service oriented purpose. To the female worker, keep up the good work, I am sure you are a credit to um, um, well something.

Amazing staff at this visitor centre! Extremely friendly and helpful! One of the staff even recognised me from when I visited last year. Lots of information available as well as souvernirs.

Customer services was great andthey couldn't help you enough. The big repellent is great for sandflies and mozzies. Locally made.

Great Centre with a variety of gifts. Loved the Emu tea towel as a momento of our trip up north.

Both the wife and I agree that the staff that we spoke to just wanted us out asap, told us nothing about Carnavon. We ended up at one mile beach jetty by chance and was from the volunteers there we found out what to see and do in Carnavon.

We wanted specific information regarding the flooding over roads for Gascoyne Junction, Mt Augustus route for the Murchison river. Fabulous information provided including website for road closures to check. When we got to Gascoyne Junction checked again. Excellent advice and much appreciated.

We have been to Carnarvon twice and we love it here, beautiful friendly people an awesome community and plenty to do. Nice food and incredible sunsets. We recently attended the Carnarvon Eclipse festival and had a ball. I highly recommend Carnarvon for a visit.

Lovely presented town on the West Australian Coast, so glad we called in and stayed at the Coral Coast Tourist Park. In walking around this lovely town we found the towns people, shop owners and Shire staff very helpful, were lucky enough to come across a free sausage sizzle and a lovely lady who made a beautiful Damper which was just great. Thank you to all in this beautiful town

Do yourself a favour, avoid Carnarvon. Unlike the rest of WA the place is incredibly unfriendly, everything is overpriced and it’s just a bit of a dump in general. So many wonderful places nearby, I regret ever coming to Carnarvon.
