We eat at Michelin restaurants often and I would not really recommend this one. Only one dish we really thought was special, several were serious misses that I didn't touch after one bite, and the menu is over priced for Michelin in Portugal. The wine pairings were interesting, but the by the glass options were just OK. The chef and staff are nice. Overall it felt a little bit Vegas, which is not my thing.

This Restaurant Deserves 3 Michelin Stars Everything from the atmosphere, service, the ACTUAL FOOD was amazing delicious! I spent 2 weeks in Spain and had the incredible opportunity to eat at a 3 star Michelin restuarant (Martin Berasategui) so I had a great place to compare this one to, and while they were both extraordinary experiences, VISTA BY FAR was my FAVORITE. The food is actually filling, tasty, enjoyable, whilst checking all the boxes of a true 3 star restaurant such as Martin B. I loved every second of my dining experience at Vista and I cannot wait to return again in the future.

If you want the most amazing experience of what Portugal, and Algarve in particular, has to offer this is the place to go. From setting or preparation to produce, it was all stunning. When we went it was a seafood only menu and i could not have been more blown away. I spend a lot of time in the Algarve as my girlfriend is local and this elevates everything we've had previously but takes it to levels i didn't thought possible. Speaking to the local fishermen much of the produce is rare and difficult to get hold of, but it really pays off. The wine pairing is also superb and completely showcases the different, subtle and complex flavours of Portugese wines you don't get in many other places. On top of all that the setting is stunning and intimate with very few covers a night. As an additional highlight they also show their kitchen and the wine cellar before the meal.

Nothing I put down can really express how much we truly enjoyed our experience at vista the food, the service and the overall place are all 5 stars that if you have the chance you must visit! Just a breakdown for each aspect: Location and parking: set on the busy streets of Portimao in the bel vista hotel, we decided to use the parking on the side of the hotel and walked up (I believe the hotel has parking for restaurant visitors) to the hotel and rung the bell and they greeted us at the front door Food: taking us through a beautiful seafood culinary journey across Portugal, we are amazed by each unique experience, the effort the chef and his team have orchestrated to make it enjoyable and how the different ingredients and play with texture and use of different parts of the same ingredients We provided our allergy and restrictions in advance and the team have ensured that was met and replaced it without losing out on the experience Service: such impeccable service from the very start, the team ensured they kept us happy all the way and I loved it. Overall it made our experience in the algarve region extra special and deff think you should consider it

What can I say... The staff, the welcoming, the visit... The food ... Every aspect was above and beyond. If you can, try it. Must absolutely reserve ahead of time. I will remember this for a long time

If you ever find yourself near the Algarve, definitely put this as a must on your agenda. The food and dinner staff are amazing and you also get one of the best views while enjoying dinner. Vista deserves more than just 1 Michelin star.

Wonderful dining experience! From arrival to dining, it has been such a pleasant time, thanks to caring staffs and the chef Oliveira. Every dish was delightful! It was worth every penny and more. It was great to tour the kitchen and the wine cellar before the meal. Chef Oliveira came to the table to prepare the special dish, which was very nice touch. Thank you everyone af Vista for making it such a memorable experience!

If you like fine dining at a very high level - go there! I had for lunch their more complex set menu with their rekommended wine to all courses, nine actually! I was there a Sunday lunch in August 2020, during the Covid outbreak, it was not buzy. The service, food and staff was absolutely amazing, the kitchen presented a fabulous meny - to die for!

We had a booking for two done 1 week prior to the dinner, which was confirmed on the phone. We were informed we would receive an e-mail as an official confirmation, which never arrived. On the phone we were told one day before the reservation that they had no recollection or registration of the booking and we were offered no alternative. On a second phone call with Inês, our story was deemed suspicious. Disrespectful and truly a shame, specially given the high expectations we had.

An excellent and well paced meal. Every dish was superb and the wines were very well paired. The views are incredible and the service is attentive and friendly.

Absolutely fantastic. I have eaten at many Michelin-starred restaurants, including many 3-stars, and this was one of the best meals I have ever had. It far exceeded my expectations. This chef is phenomenal, the service was terrific, the wine pairing was perfect, and the focus on local ingredients and flavors was a joy. For any serious foodie visiting the Algarve, this is an absolute must.

This was the best meal I've ever had in my entire life, and that's not an exaggeration. I wholeheartedly and sincerely say it is worth every penny (and it's a lot of pennies) - and I say that having gone to another 2 start Michelin in the same trip that is not worth the money. I went here back in 2016 before they got their Michelin star and told my family about the best meal I ever had. Fast forward 7 years to 2023, my family was traveling to Portugal and I said we MUST go to this restaurant (which got it's Michelin star in 2018). Everything was impeccable - the food was the best I've had in my life, the service was like a well-choreographed dance with perfect timing, and the whole experience was one that we will all never forget. Make a reservation well in advance! This will be a highlight of your time in Portimão.
