Location is a five star plus rating because of the view on the river and the city from the room, pool and the breakfast terrace. The only improvement is to introduce an honesty bar or minibar. There is a fridge so I suggest to take your own drinks to this hotel. Please notice that the only restaurant on walking distance is closed on Sunday and Monday. We went to the village without reservation for diner and could not find place to eat. Everything was fully booked or closed (in October)

Amazing apartment, nice & clean, beautiful view to the castle right from your bed, especially at night. Super friendly host, rental bikes (mountain bikes) availible. Everything for a very good price!!!

Beatiful scenery, very warm welcome and exxellent breakfast. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed the swimming pool! The landscape is breathtaking!!

The perfect place for a break from routine and recharge batteries. Amazing location with great views to the castle and village of Mértola. The staff is very kind and always ready to help. Good breakfast with diverse options and fresh bread and cake. The rooms are welcoming and very comfortable. Everything is extremely well cleaned. Two notes for constructive feedback. First, more information in English so it can also help the staff, since they don't speak English very well. Second, the use of the "Do not disturb" sign could allow to safe some resources, particularly in washing towels.

Very good location, I highly recommend. We had a very good sleep here, and it was an easy walk to the restaurants and the town. The breakfast selection is poor, the produce didn't seem fresh,for example the cereal was stuck inside the bowl and I couldn't even get the cereal in my bowl. Maybe next time the breakfast could be a little bit better, please. 🙏

Beautiful place with a scenic pool. A small note for the future: maybe it is better to invest on stronger sun shades instead of pressing the clients to close the shades because they are too fragile when there is a bit of wind.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Quinta do Vau. A small, clean, quiet (yet very child friendly), well maintained hotel, with fantastic views on the medieval cityscape of Mértola. From relaxing hours at the pool to a delicious breakfast - a great place for a weekend getaway.

This small hotel is a lovely place to relax for a few days. The small pool overlooks the river and the castle with plenty of seating areas. The rooms and beds are very comfortable. The housekeeping staff, and in particular the main lady, who works so hard, are so very friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble. They are a happy team, who work relentlessly to keep everything spotless. This was our third visit and we shall return.
