The rentals are overpriced and some of the staff has a short fuse even though I treated the staff with respect. They were very rude upon us returning the surf boards and even tried to charge €10 more for something we were never informed about. Won't be renting here again. Looking at the reaction of the surf school they also seem to discriminate a bit.

Overpriced surf rental, other spots are way cheaper. And they are very rude and unclear. Get mad at you for heaving some sand on the surfboard (on a beach…). They also get mad because you have to clean everything yourself without them telling you how and where. There are way better places than this, don’t go!!

Cool guys and good instructors. However due to my own height and weight I probably require a 20ft surfboard but my instructor tried his best with me despite my lack of surfing talent. The first picture is me at the start of the week and the second is me after being taught by DuckDive

I can't say enough good things about this surfing school! The entire team is simply amazing. They're incredibly attentive, flexible, and treat us like family every time we're there. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a fantastic surfing experience. We're so grateful for the welcoming atmosphere and the dedication they show to making every visit special.

Absolutely love this surfschool. My whole family (husband, daughters 8 and 11 and myself) enjoyed the surf classes very much. Teachers are very professional and you feel very safe. The atmosphere is really friendly and relaxed. 100% recommended!

A very good surf school! We really had so much fun practicing surf with them. The school is very friendly, teachers are here to help and the spot is amazing! A big plus is that the owner took pictures of us while surfing and sent it to us. Great memories to keep on top of all. I can only recommend you this place and will certainly come back. Thanks to all of you!

Avoid surf lessons with Duck Dive. They have the most rude and arrogant surf instructors, who don't care about their own students' safety and you can get physically hurt. I'm writing this comment as a free surfer who witnessed reckless behaviour from Duck Dive surf instructors. During one session recently, one of the instructors (I didn't get his name) pushed one of the students onto a wave that I was already surfing and we both crashed. Luckily we were not hurt and the student was apologetic even though it was not his fault. When I asked the instructor to be more careful about this he started shouting aggressively at me. He said I shouldn't be there because they were having a lesson and he added that he would keep pushing his students onto waves any free surfer were in (!), completely missing my point about the basic surf etiquette and the fact he was recklessly putting one of his own students in danger. The other instructor that was on the water a bit farther apart, a kid called Jessica, started screaming frantically at me to get out of there, without even knowing what happened, while all the students in their class were looking visibly embarrassed watching their own instructors bullying free surfers in the water. I surf in many different spots in Caparica for years, and it's normal to have schools with lessons around, but I've never seen this shameful behaviour by any instructor. If it gets busy on any line up demarked for surf lessons, like on this occasion, free surfers can be asked by instructors to move aside which is fine, but these two didn't say a word when they got into the water with the students, to myself or any other free surfers already in the water. I've complained about what happened to the school owner, who at least was able to had a civilized conversation about it, unlike the instructors, but he didn't seem too worried about his employees' work ethics and for sure he didn't acknowledge they were wrong. Do not have lessons here, they put their own students at risk and there are many other better schools in the area who respect other surfers.

I'm really glad I chose Duckdive Surf School after trying other surf schools around Lisbon. The instructors are super patient and they really understand how to teach each student individually. They helped me overcome my fear of going into deeper water and I'm now catching my first waves on my own. I love that they're always making sure everyone feels safe and supported, and they give great feedback to help improve your surfing skills, no matter how fast or slow your progress is. Plus, I've made some really great friends at Duckdive and I'm very grateful to be a part of this awesome community!
