Dived with these a while back. The dive sites were good but this centre is not. We were two experienced divers, 100+ dives. Paid up front for the first time in my 20 years of diving all over the world... maybe that is just Portugal? Gear was fine. The problem lies with Steve, he is a grumpy guy, I thought at first it was dry humour, but no, he is actually just miserable. The vis on the dives was very bad (3m kind of bad!) obviously not their fault, but during our second dive we got separated after 30mins. We hunted for them for 5 mins but then surfaced, as instructed by Steve prior. He then had the gall to have a go at us in the boat afterwards for surfacing. We pointed out that was his instructions... On the drive back he was banging on about 'sunshine' divers and 'real' divers... well Steve, I guess I am a sunshine diver because I do it for fun, not to prove something to you. Us sunshine divers account for the vast majority so I hope the attitude has changed since we dived back then. If you scuba dive for fun, go elsewhere. If you want to prove yourself against a 'real' pro, this is the place for you!

My last dive was 28 years ago so I was a bit of a worry wart showing up @ Indigo Divers for a birthday present dive with my husband. Welcomed with a beautiful smile from Jo & hilarious joke from Steve the owners of the only PADI shop in Albufeira, I knew we were in good hands. They reminded us kindly of all the skills again & again as my nerves took over in the refresher course in the pool. They continued to support & remind us with great patience in the sea. Incredible dive seeing so many octopus, nudebrae, eels & gorgeous fish SO Close! Brilliant experience! You show up with a bathing suit & towel and they have everything you need for a phenomenal adventure. I highly recommend Indigo Divers for beginners to advanced divers. Thank you Steve & Jo you both are masters of the sea.

Just finished my Advanced Open Water with Indigo Divers. Jo was very friendly and reassuring when we were feeling nervous on our first deep dive. Steve however is very impatient and was quick to shout at me when I had trouble descending and made me feel uncomfortable during that dive. Both Steve and Jo know the dive sites extremely well which is a bonus as they know exactly where all the interesting marine life is. Lots of life and friendly octopus and some rays to see. We also went on a trip to Sagres and dove in the caves which was an awesome experience. Overall was great (despite my mishap with Steve) and loved it so thank you!

Great company - very friendly, family-run dive centre. Dedicated and professional. Full safety checks completed even for qualified divers which is always reassuring. High quality rental kit and good range of masks. Good knowledge of all the creatures in the Algarve waters, which added to the experience.

I enrolled my daughter on a bubble maker course with Indigo. Jo took great care of her. Taught her the basics in the pool and provided a great introduction to scuba diving. Highly recommended if you're looking for a friendly family run shop.

I had an absolute fantastic diving experience with Steve and Jo in Albufeira despite challenging weather conditions. The whole team is super friendly, professional and all around helpful. Despite a rough sea and limited visibility I always felt safe. And we spotted SO much sea life, from the tiniest nudi branch to cuttle fish, crabs and many, many octopus 🥹 I'd give six stars if I could! I wish I could give higher than five stars - Jo, Dean and Steve took such great care of me when I was diving with them that even though I only dived for two days, they felt like family - but the good kind who you like spending time with. They made sure that I was warm - quite a feat in the cold Atlantic! - and ensured that all of us were safe at all times. They were able to meet the needs of divers at really varied levels, which can be tricky. I appreciate that they had us assemble and take apart our own gear - this is a continued learning opportunity. We saw octopus, cuttlefish, spider crabs, conger eels, tons of nudibranch, and other various reef fish; the plant life is abundant and pretty as well. Note: please let the center know ahead of time whether you are certified, as some girls showed up my first day having said they were when they booked but actually weren't. This is a small business, and every booking matters. Thank you so much for the brilliant dives, guys!

Jo and Steve are amazing they are of the most welcoming and will help you with anything you need. There are a wide diversity of dive sites, where, you can observe most of the Atlantic and Mediterranean fauna. I had my first experience with Indigo divers back in 2006/2009, they are the reason I'm a diver today. So totally recommend! Was good to also see Gina and Tiago again! Thanks for awesome the day!

We booked our daughter in for the final part of her open water course. Both Jo and Steve were spot on and very professional. You can tell immediately that they are experienced divers and very knowledgeable of all local dive sites and water conditions. Both times our daughter came back she had a smile and was very relaxed. The gear that they have is quality and enough to suit all seasons (as we were there at the end of October). They have Go Pro cameras, which means that you can buy the photos and videos for €20. Would recommend to anyone who wants to try a dive or add another dive to the repertoire.

My daughter and I had a wonderful morning with Jo and Steve, we are new to diving and this was our first dive after passing our PADI in 2021! Excellent value, great company and a rib ride included. Couldn’t ask for more.

Exploring my local dive centre! My Perfect find! Less then 20 mins drive away from my home. 🧡 In the last couple of days, I had some awesome dives with Steve and Jo. Properly run dive centre, with excellent practice in scuba diving. Spot-on safety measures, on the boat and during diving. They are extremely familiar with the dive sites, I am certain that, they know all the underwater residents' whereabouts! Just love their diving etiquette! Superb! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely amazing. Just a note, no discrimination on my ancient A Clamp, it works perfectly well. 🤪😝😜 it won't pop, with proper insert from Steve. I don't need to use my own. 😛🤩🤣 I am coming back for more diving, see you next week.

I spent two great days diving with Indigo divers. As an experienced diver I appreciated their attention to safety. Great dive sites and great instructors. If you're looking to dive in Albufeira this is the place!

Very professional PADI center! Jo and Steve share their knowledge, guide through challenges, make sure everybody is safe and enjoy their time. I wasn't too much impressed with the underwater life in this location, mainly because visited Bahamas and Virgin Islands prior, but from knowledge and experience perspective, the dives were very valuable.

Jo and Steve are the best. I’m glad I got my Open Water certification with them - they put me at ease when I was feeling nervous, and made me feel confident in my new diving skills. Then I was psyched to put those new skills to the test with them on some amazing dives in Albufeira and Sagres. Would recommend Indigo for any skill level - thank you for an unforgettable trip!

It was my first time diving and Yo and Steve helped with explaining everything as we did the discover scuba dive. The diving spot is just incredible, we saw so many octopus!

Without doubt the best PADI centre I have dived with. I undertook my PADI Advanced Open Water course with Jo and Steve and there is not a single thing I would want to change (apart from perhaps my reading the compass wrong during my navigation dive!!). Professional and fun, a great week.

Organised everything online before arriving and felt well communicated with. On the day of the dives the weather had turned and we had to reschedule. Not an issue as it happens. Good quality equipment that was well maintained. The dive sites were a lot more lush than I had expected and we saw plenty. My friend had some difficulties and they coached him through it so we both enjoyed the dives. I felt in good hands with Jo and Steve and would absolutely return. On the last dive there were some dolphins swimming nearby so Steve took us to go and see these amazing animals before returning. Thank you

Completed my PADI Open Water certification pool dive and open water dives with Indigo Divers, all over a span of 3 days. Jo was very quick to respond and organize everything. I did the pool and open water dives one-on-one with Steve. The attention to safety and education made me very comfortable throughout, especially because I did it all solo. The equipment was brand new, worked great, and kept me very warm even in cold water. While the conditions were not great, I still got to see octopus, eels, starfish and a few other things. Steve took pictures and videos throughout the dives which I purchased for 20 euro total after the 3 days. I would highly recommend diving with Indigo Divers if looking to dive in Albufeira.

Me and my two friends have been diving with Jo for the past 2 days. The experience has been like no other! Steve and Jo are both very educational, calm and have safety as their number one priority. They listen to the students and understand if you are uncomfortable with something and will always find a way to make it work!
