We’re from Michigan and decided to try this place! Best food I’ve had on the trip! Chicken was delicious and juicy, collard greens were so flavorful and the green beans! The stars of the show were the Mac n cheese and banana pudding! My daughters loved it too! Great price! $40 for two adults and one kid.

This was literally the best place we ate at in SC. The food was amazing and the first day eating there (place was so good, we had to go twice) the floor server (Stacey) was so awesome!!! His service and spirit resonated through out the restaurant! He was quick, efficient and had great conversation. Although I could not eat most of the food due to diet restrictions. What I could eat was amazing. I did veggie plates and i was full as if I had all of the meat that they offered. And seeing all of the Black men in the kitchen gave me joy as they worked the kitchen.

I tried to go inside to eat, but you can only eat inside if you get the buffet. I wanted to order the daily special so the lady (who was unfriendly) told me I had to go through the drive through. I ordered the fried fish special with mac and cheese and collard greens. The mac and cheese and greens were bland. And the Mac and cheese was made from imitation cheese. I like my food flavorful with spices so maybe it would be good for someone who doesn’t like a lot of flavor. The fish wasn’t fully fried, it was gooey under the batter. Tater sauce was really good though. The gentleman at the drive through window was very nice, which was a plus! One recommendation is to not put the take out utensils inside of the take-out box with the food. Just put it in the bag. The package with the utilities was covered with food when I tried to open it. Overall - a hot mess…literally and figuratively.

Solid food, buffet was clean and stocked for our visit. Location has easy in and out from Joe White. Parking can be tight around lunch as this is a popular spot! Pulled pork was great as was the fried chicken! I enjoyed the greens and the mashed potatoes. Really, everything was good. Dinning area was clean and had plenty of seating. Drink station and silverware could be better laid out and service could have been more personal. Everyone was friendly and pleasant.

My husband and I are foodies. This place was great. I wish we knew about it earlier in our trip because we would have went more than once. The food was great. The price was so good. The people working there so nice and friendly. One of the staff broke out in song while we were eating. It has a home feel to it. The food was very good! The ribs slid off the bone. The food was very flavorful. This is a must place to go. Wish we had this closer to home cause I could go for another plate!!

We'd been traveling and looking for something similar to home cooking and this place didn't disappoint. Food and service was good. Don't go there expecting a 5 star setting. Small family style restaurant with tables and booths. Setup buffer style but everything was hot a fresh. Not as many options like a Golden Coral but I think that's best. My favorite were the chicken and dumplings. Would visit again if in the area.

Absolutely amazing. I’ve been here before last year but decided to go again today with my boyfriend and it was amazing! Stacey was singing to the guests and everyone seemed to enjoy it. The food was awesome too. Can’t beat the price, $12 per person for lunch. definitely will be back!

Simply Southern Smokehouse in Myrtle Beach , South Carolina was so good and only $12 ! The employees were nice and the bus boy would clean the tables and bust out in song . He sang Lynard Skynard -Simple Man , really good . Chicken Bog , Carolina Pulled Pork , rib , hush puppies , mashed potatoes and gravy , corn , banana pudding and apple cobbler . Yummm ! Go try it when you visit Myrtle Beach on Mr Joe White Avenue . I made it here about 30 minutes before closing on October 8th and they were nice enough to let me in unlike some businesses that cut off before that . There were a couple other tables with people still there so I didn't feel like I was the only one there . They told me to take my time and eat what I wanted and they wouldn't remove the food from the line till everyone had their fill and was ready to go . I made a full plate the first time and a half plate for seconds . When I left there was still one couple there who left shortly after me . The bus boy was so nice and we talked a little . Now the food ! The fried chicken was so good . I got a nice sized chicken breast and it was cooked just right with good battered skin . Carolina pulled pork was good with a hint of the vinegar based sauce , but they also had it on the table so I added more to give it more of a kick . Chicken bog was good , but didn't have a lot of chicken in it , but lots of sausage . The bus boy said people a lot of times get all the chicken out of it and I can always ask to have them add more chicken to it . It was way better than the place I had it at the next day . The rib was just okay , but meaty . Mashed potatoes and gravy were spot on and the hush puppies were nice and moist inside . The corn was just okay . Banana pudding was creamy and good and the cobbler was really really good . I would definitely recommend coming here . If I would have been in town longer I would have definitely came back for dinner again . The place is clean , the employees are great , and the atmosphere is very nice . The outside looks like a big country house . One of the best meals I had in my 2 weeks in the Carolinas .

One of the best restaurants in Myrtle Beach. Fantastic Southern food. Top 5 Baby Back ribs I've had. Service is so nice, and they might gift you with a song. At only $15 a person, you've got nothing to lose, and inches on the waist to gain from their banana pudding. We'll be back.

$15 including taxes and non alcoholic drinks. Good southern all you can eat. Plenty of options for the price. You serve yourself by going up to the food area. The area could use some organization because you bump into people if you go for food or a drink. And there's also live entertainment? Busboy has so much energy to clean tables, put away dishes, and also bust some tunes. He definitely livens up the place.

Went here for dinner on vacation and we were blown away at how incredible this place was. The cashier was so sweet & the food was so amazing I could cry. Reminded me of exactly of my grandma’s home cooked southern food. The sweet potato casserole was the best I have ever had. The okra & tomatoes were a surprise star of the show. Seriously, I never review places, but this is a must try!

My sister in law recommended this restaurant and I had an absolutely wonderful at this restaurant! The food was delicious 😋 and the singing waiter Stacy was amazing! The place was very low key and relaxed setting and the food had so much flavor. I liked the unlimited drinks as well. The fried fish and black eyed peas were my favorite and the best I’ve had! Thanks for making me feel welcome here.

OMG!!! Where do I begin?!! While on vacation, we Googled Top Restaurants in the area, and the reviews for this place really caught our eye. The food here is amazing! And the prices are very affordable. As usual, we got our food to go. The portion sizes that you are given were unbelievable! The plates were only $9 each. That's way better than the price for a Combo meal at these fast food chains! Now, the food... Everything we ordered tasted like a delicious home cooked meal. This restaurant deserves 5 Stars!! Our vacation isn't over and the entire family has already decided that we want to go back for dinner for the remainder of our trip!!🙂 Hey... I'm not Complaining!!😋😋

Great local spot to go for southern food at a buffet style line. Great food and easy to find something good to eat. First time eating and location and already on my list to revisit next time I am in the area. Southern Yummy would best describe the food. Only complaint is finding a seat when they get busy which is often.

We are not fans of buffets but stayed and ate because we were already here. The food was so tasty, the choices nice, the price very reasonable! Also the kitchen staff was pleasant and welcoming! We would come again on returning to Myrtle Beach!

What a wonderful surprise! I usually order take out and pick up at the drive-thru. Today, I took visiting family members to Simply Southern for lunch, and we ate in and had the buffet. We knew the food would be great, but we had a treat! The lunch buffet was fantastic! It was packed full with salads, vegetables, cornbread, spaghetti, fried chicken, BBQ, baked chicken, and . . . . Cobblers, blueberry, and peach!! I did not think it could get any better until it did!! They have a singing waiter! Ahmad sang several old favorites that we enjoyed. We loved it! Definitely go by, order the buffet, and enjoy the acapella music!

This is southern comfort food! Everything on the buffet was delicious. Buffets tend to be generic and bland. But that was not our experience at Simply Southern Smokehouse! We just didn't have enough room on plates or our stomaches to try everything, but we came close! They surprised us with the bbq. It was probably the best we have had on any trip to South Carolina. The highlight was the singing waitress. She was a blessing! Can't wait to go back again! Pros: * everything included in one posted price ($18 per adult for dinner included buffet, drinks, and TAX) * Food was actually seasoned! But they offered everything table side like vinegar and bbq sauces for those who love the extra. * Unexpected dinner show every 20 min or so (singing) Cons: *The soft serve ice cream left a bad taste in the mouth. Please try your dessert cobbler before making it a la mode. Maybe it was just the mix for our meal, but it was just nasty.

It's a buffet style restaurant. A little chaotic but decent food. They offer gloves to help with germs but that only works if people use them. Seating is first come first serve so be prepared. The food itself was ok, not great. Cornbread, ribs (when fresh), mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, banana pudding, Lima beans, all were good. The pulled pork had no flavor and was discolored. The price was good and It's not horrible food but don't go expecting much.

I never knew that this restaurant was in myrtle beach. It advertised some menu options that I could eat(I don't eat pork). The only fried fish was catfish, no barbecued beef or pulled chicken was available. I opted for the fried chicken which the first piece was good but the second piece tasted like it had been sitting in fish juice. The mashed potatoes tasted more like water flavor than potatoes. The corn tasted like it was straight from the can(no seasoning was used). The Mac n cheese was good. I didn't try anything else because some items were cooked in pork. The cashier was nice but she kept a look on her face that showed that she was over it. Keep a smile on your face as you are the first person people see when they come in and when they leave. There is a gentleman in there who will sing periodically. He has a great voice. The staff was nice, the building is clean.

Very delicious! Bbq was so fresh and yummy. Service is nice and quick. Fast refills on food, self-service drink bar! It's about 13-14 dollars per adult for lunch and this includes drinks.

We were in area for a medical conference and this place came up with good ratings on Google. Glad we came; had dine-in for two. Reasonable price for buffet that includes chopped pork BBQ. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would come back. What made it even better was that our server Teresa broke out in the middle of the dining room in witness for our Lord with “How Great Thou Art”.

We were very impressed with the delicious food, wonderful staff, and great service. We were also entertained by one of the staff with her delightful singing. This place is definitely worth the trip. We would be looking forward to coming here again in the future for the authentic southern cooking. This was a wonderful ending to our vacation!

Very nice down to earth place with very good bbq having in mind that’s a buffet. Service was good, sauces were also very good, Carolina gold was my personal favorite. For about $17 you get a good sample of South Carolina home cooking
