As
others
have
posted,
many
reviews
do
not
capture
the
hike
from
Tremezzo.
Beginning
in
Tremezzo,
it
is
roughly
a
30
minute
walk
up
a
bike
path
to
the
start
of
the
trail.
This
walk
is
uphill
in
a
cobblestone
path.
The
entire
hike
from
the
beginning
is
quite
steep,
hiking
poles
would
be
tremendously
valuable
for
the
descent.
The
path
is
paved
in
a
light
cobblestone
that
has
faded
over
the
years
but
is
still
easy
to
follow.
From
Tremezzo
expect
around
4
hours
to
the
peak
at
a
moderate
pace.
Once
you
approach
the
peak
you
are
left
at
a
fork
in
the
road.
The
first
path
is
nearly
a
70
degree
angle
straight
toward
the
cross
and
summit
(see
the
second
picture)
.
The
second
route
is
a
low
incline
,
long
switchback
that
takes
quite
a
bit
longer
to
reach
the
peak.
In
our
case,
we
took
the
straight
shot
toward
the
summit.
This
was
the
most
difficult
part
of
the
hike
as
there
really
isn't
a
trail
at
this
point.
You're
largely
holding
onto
clumps
of
crabgrass
to
make
the
ascent.
It
is
challenging,
but
the
view
of
the
summit
is
gorgeous.
From
the
summit
of
monte
crocione,
you
can
walk
to
the
mount
Tremezzo.
Others
have
mentioned
an
area
to
buy
drinks
and
food
as
well
as
a
car
route,
perhaps
this
is
near
mount
Tremezzo
but
we
did
not
see
this
whatsoever.
The
descent
was
tricky
without
poles
and
requires
time
to
avoid
falling
and
the
pace
is
not
so
fast.
In
total
our
time
from
the
ferry,
summit,
and
back
was
around
7
hours.
