Very poor service no track records of patient history..I came with stomach painand 4hrs waiting for blood test ..I asked for painkiller staff provide me painkiller after 2hrs . 11pm to morning 6am I was waiting with pain... asking about my turn no proper answer.i left hospital after waiting for more than 7hrs because I was not able seat over there with pain. Same day morning I got call from doctor about my reports and he told me to come back to hospital he said there is some infaction in your blood we have to check. I felt good when doctor call me I went hospital again. They send me back again to reception to do all process I did all process from 3pm to 10pm I was waiting then I got chance to meet doctor she says she want to do more blood test ...I m agree with that I wait for another 2hours after that doctor came and saying sorry by mistake my blood samples misplaced in laboratories. He was giving me option he will take another blood sample and do the tests again..or I can go home he said there is no guarantee someone will ring me tomorrow .if I will come Tomorrow I have to start with this same procedure again.. In 24hrs I took more than 11tablets for my pain I m here to waiting for doctor to see ...they are doing this kind of mistake...don't care about someone's pain and time. 17hours i am waiting no solution..such a bad service. Still I am waiting ....I don't know how many more hours I have to wait medicine.

This is a really nice clean hospital, I was unfortunate enough to accompany a person to A&E but I was surprised by how clean & organised it was, On the down side was the number of junkies & alcohol filled people entering the A&E. Some by their own means and some brought in by PSNI. I sincerely believe anyone with those primary symptoms should not be brought to A&E but placed in a β€˜holding tank’ until there are socially acceptable, our nurses & doctors are not paid to deal with them. Before we left we got lunch in the hospital restaurant, a Turkey & Ham dinner with tea was Β£3:80, that’s unbeatable

I would like make a special mention about a nurse called Hailey who works on 6e/f the acute stroke unit of the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast. On 1st Jan 2022 my mum suffered a stroke, she was rushed to the Royal and after being cared for in the a&e department she was admitted to ward 6e/f. After a week on the unit sadly mum's condition showed no improvement and a decision was made by both the medical team and the family that my mum would be placed on palliative care. A week after mum was placed on palliative care my dad was rushed to the Royal hospital with a suspected heart attack. After tests it was discovered that it was a problem with his gal bladder dad was admitted to 6a. Nurse Hailey was looking after mum on 6e when we mentioned to her that my dad was in 6a she couldn't believe it and she set the wheels in motions to get my dad brought to 6e to say goodbye to his wife of 68 years Nurse Hailey actually went to ward 6a herself and organized with the staff on the ward for her to bring him to see my mum. It was a special moment he cried when he seen her, but he was able to hold her hand and spend twenty minutes with her. Only for nurse Hailey going above and beyond her duties my dad would not have had that special time with my mum. I think nurse Hailey needs this special mention because she is a true professional and a dedicated nurse. The whole of the medical staff on ward 6e/f have been wonderful in looking after my mum. I have enclosed the moment dad was able to hold mum's hand and say goodbye I hope the trust let nurse Hailey know how much she is appreciated for what she done for our family

No other word to describe this place other than disgusting. Disgusting staff, disgusting waiting times of 11 hours+, disgusting hygiene; blood on the floors. Overall joke trusting these people to help us and they stand around talking to each other about holidays. You’d get treated better in a vet.

Appointments are very fast. But the car park is serious for getting a parking spot. I had to wait nearly an hour to get a parking spot. But other than that it has excellent service. It has a good shop on the ground floor just past the front doors. But leave in plenty of time for parking.

Extremely disappointed with our health service at this A&E department. Attended last night with my 18 year old son.... who had just turned 18 the previous day. He was in agony with left side upper abdominal pain. His tummy was swollen and a massive hard mass on the side that was sore. We waited for 7 hours 2 paracetamol for pain. The amount of drunk people who were being prioritised over older people and people obviously in pain was sickening. My son has autism and does not do well with lots of people being loud and drunken. He was getting panicked and was completely out of his comfort zone. He was so unwell and in pain the sitting on a hard seat for 7 hours being sick. At 5am I asked how much longer at that was 8 hours more wait. I had to just bring him home again and start all over again. 29th November .. review update. My son ended up being admitted the following vist to AED after emergency app the with GP confirmed a mass on his spleen. We went back to AED with a GP referral. Due to complications with a diagnosis he lay on a bed in a bay for 4 nights in AED. He had just turned 18 the previous day. This was horrifying for him. Unfortunately the staff a very overwhelmed with mental health, drug and alcohol dependent patients. This is bottle necking the system as there are no facilities for these issues. Honestly it was the same faces every other night with same issues. This was a long and drawn out episode and eye opening experience seeing what staff put up with. My son got diagnosed with a life threatening condition and was transferred to 7cc critical care. He was in hospital for 2 weeks. The care and respect from staff on 7cc was amazing. Absolutely fantastic team. His care is ongoing and he's a long road ahead. For every grateful to the team on 7cc x

In attending the RVH recently during Covid-19 Pandemic I had the opportunity to walk the old Victorian Corridor which the original wards would have all connected to. I can remember visiting patients on this corridor as a child over 50years ago. The corridor walls are dotted with pictures and information of the nurses, doctors and benefactors who committed so much to the RVH long before NHS was formed. At the end of the corridor stands the best and most telling representation of what the building is about: The Good Samaritan window presented initially to The Belfast Royal Hospital in 1886 by Dr William Whitia. A beautiful representation of what the (any) hospital and its workers are about. We the general population have in my life time never been more aware of this than in recent weeks. Thank you to all of our hospital workers.

Amazing care from fantastic staff. Not sure what the rules are with regards when you can visit, how many can visit at one time or for how long during COVID but the car park was bunged as always though not many people were about the corridors. I’ve no idea what the blue β€˜art installation’ is bar gathering dust and I’ve no idea what piece of furniture you’re not allowed to move - seeing as it’s a pane of glass! The things you see when the corridors are empty of people… Thank you to all the staff who do outstanding jobs in extreme circumstances πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Fantastic staff apart from some that happened to know me. Ripped me to bits verbally where when they came to my bed side (a trolley) I turned away and ignored them totally digusted with the slander and reported it no further action was taken. Then one night they called us out of bed at 2am to get out of bed and sleep on a chair then I asked for discharge letter to which when they didn't give it even though I had been discharged and canula removed I went homeh to which they called the police some staff highly trained others seem like kids doing holiday work totally unacceptable I intend to contact our Health Minister to voice concerns

Absolutely fantastic staff Not the kind of review I’d normally make but the Royal does not get enough praise. The care I have received from staff in the ambulance, emergency department, orthopaedic, surgical, physio and clinical is second to none. The porters, cleaners, canteen staff do everything to an exceedingly high standard. The urgent care doctors checked in after I was transferred out of their responsibility and onto a ward. All deserve a pay rise and Stormont should be pumping lots more money in. The care never dropped once even when verbally and physically abused.

Have been a&e from about 8pm last night on the recommendation of the out of hours doctor. Apparently my name was called at 7.30am, I must have been at the toilet. I'm here in my own, have just checked with reception and they said they took me off the list because I didn't answer. They checked a couple of hours ago to see who was still here and I answered, so they knew I was here. I'm tired, hungry and now furious. They tell you not to bring anyone with you. My advice, bring someone

From the second I arrived the staff and level of care was simply fantastic. Reinstilling much of my lost faith in humanity, this place is floor to ceiling happy, generous and good natured folk that do everything they can to help despite the completely broken system they must work within. As someone who actively avoids medical care due to previous experiences with GP's and A&E departments, this was a breathe of fresh air and I cannot express how thankful I am to all the staff I was in contact with. Everyone from the cleaning staff through to the surgeons were fantastic, but the ward staff need a medal for their efforts each and every day, particularly Cathal and Helen in Ward 6A.

But I want to highlight the personal, doctors, nurses etc were amazing. I am not blaming the personalm they deserve a 10/10. But I think someone need really action about the longs hours in emergency. Hi I don't want to speak about the waiting time in the A&E, this is too bad, but I do know that this is nothing to do with the staff on duty themselves, this is something beyond their control but I want to speak about the service I received after I was admitted in. Once I was in and despite all the unbeleivable pressure that all Doctors, Nurses and every individual staff are working under, I want to deeply deeply deeply thank all the staff specifically the ones who were working on the 17th May night shift, 18th May day and night shift, and 19th May day shift. Allow me to thank them by names and please let the other forgive me because i don't know all their names starting with the A&E team of the 17th May night shift following by the day shift of the 18th: *The Iron Man: Gabriel *Dr Nicolas *The lovely blondish girl who told me when she was leaving: i don't want to see you again (in a joke of course), she knows herself πŸ™‚ but am sorry I don't know her name. Moving to the morning shift of the 18th who helped moving me to a different room going to Ward 29: A big thanks for: *The gentle Aldho *The lovely Charlene *Haidy *The doctor who did the operation for me ( can't remember his name although I should) * The Anasthesia Doctor and his team and the nice beautiful face assistant lady who was holding my hand before i went in a dream πŸ˜„ And everyone else on these shifts. These Staff, individually, are so professional, anything you ask ... they know the answer without hesitation. They are just the right people in the right place. Working under unbelievable pressure all the time but never stopped smiling and never behaved in careless way when they got tired in their last few hours of their shift. They kept on giving and giving and giving their patients till the last minute of their shift. For me, what matters more in life is the behavior and treatment but these guys were everything in 1 person and in 1 team, they were kind and professionI at the same time. I have never ever wrote a feedback but i felt that the least i can do is to thank these gents in few words. Thanks a lot. Michael

Currently in the hospital foyer. What started out as a fantastic experience when I was able to drop my 79 year old relative at the door. The very helpful reception staff saw that due to her poor mobility she wouldn't be able to manage to walk to the correct department and quickly arranged a porter to take her in a wheelchair. UNFORTUNATELY the staff in eye casualty were less than helpful. I understand that with COVID regulations, there needs to be some restrictions. But with a 79 year old who, is anxious and has other medical conditions, I am really disappointed that this was not taken into account.

If I could, I would rate this hospital at minus. 12 hours sitting with the drunks being told that if I tried to leave the police would bring me back. I have not been out of my home since. I am a transplant patient and the drunks were maskless and up in everyone's faces. When finally seen, I was told that if the staff had called the mental health team would have been out within an hour! Would not go back if my head was hanging off.

I was sent to hospital by my GP because he suspected a blood clot. Had bloods, chest x-ray and CT scan my bloods came back indicating a blood clot. I cannot fault the rvh at all from start to finish, the staff were friendly and professional. I'm not a lover of hospitals because of the experience we suffered as a family at the hands of a hospital in England when my brother died but my confidence has been restored with our hospital here at home. Thank you for looking after me and restoring my faith in our NHS again.

The specialist nurses in the Royal are insensitive, evil and manipulative. I saw with my own eyes what they done to my auntie and cousin on Friday, trying to use coercive manipulation tactics to guilt trip my auntie into signing paperwork for my uncle’s kidney before he was even took off the ventilator (still alive) after her saying no then the nurses went on to tell a story about an organ donation and a tattoo. They asked my auntie 3 times about the kidney. Do they not understand that no means no? I am going to be writing an official complaint about this. My uncle died on Saturday there but if them specialist nurses would of had their way it would of been Friday they would of took him to theatre and took his kidney. They told auntie that his kidney could save 2 people, how do they know that as if it has to be a match in the first place? Folks they don’t use organs to save people they sell them, use in them in vaccines and experiments. I have took myself off the organ donation list for this reason. Btw for those of you who do not know in Northern Ireland you are actually automatically put on the organ donation list, you need to take yourself off it.

My mum felt quite ill while visiting Belfast, so we took her to the A&E in Royal Victoria Hospital. The staff were helpful and attentive, even though the place was very busy. The waiting room is clean and well-maintained. Her details were taken, and all the necessary tests were done. Nurses explained the process to her, and gave us a pretty accurate wait time for the doctor. The doctor did her best to get the right team involved, and made sure the right scans and further tests were scheduled to determine my mum's problem. She was very reassuring and kind. Once the specialist doctors got involved, and further scans were done, they were able to give my mum an explanation as to what may have happened, and prescribed her treatment, with all the necessary paperwork. They answered any questions we had. Overall, we are very happy with how my mum was treated, and extremely thankful for all the hard-working doctors, nurses, and rest of hospital staff. You're in good hands here!
