the staff approach and behavior (service) to clients is terrible. made us feel uncomfortable. their way of taking more money from the hosts, by charging 10% more on everything the hosts get and pay by card. (not written on booking) on booking there was written that there’s a breakfast included and we had to pay for the breakfast meals we ate. it says on booking that there’s shower, but not really. it is literally a bucket filled up with water, and the use of it is limited for 3 hours each day. moreover, there is no notice on booking that there isn’t electricity all day, but for a few hours a day. unacceptable. in addition, when we arrived the electricity power didn’t work, so we called the staff and someone came and tried to fix it. however, he didn’t succeed doing so, so he left everything at it was, so we exposed to electric wires. on booking it’s written that there’s housekeeping or cleaning services, but over the 3 nights we were there, they never even try to clean our room. sometimes there are storms at night in which during them things fly, such as leaves and sand (etc etc) even the doors and the windows are shut, but they didn’t care cleaning the room. additionally, in the toilets, there is no water as well as in the sink. people aren’t able to wash hands, face or brush their teeth normally. NO TISSUE PAPER IN THE TOILETS! and there is no toilet seat. REALLY OUR STAY WAS A DISAPPOINTMENT. don’t understand what we paid for so much! NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL. If there wasn’t enough, one of the staff of the hostel told us that there is a sailing lift from the hostel to Cartagena (the city near by) that the hostel is arranging and it costs 30,000 peso per person, including the bags. Just right before the got on board, we paid the money to the guy, and started the sail. Two minutes into the sailing, the guys on deck approached us and demanded more money for the bags. Long story short, we DO NOT RECOMMEND trusting them, and please be careful and cautious.

We love the colorful style of the tiny wooden cabins and the Hostel itself. The staff was pretty friendly. Plus you stay in the first raw at the beach. It is very basic. No fluent water. Found out there is kind of a shower with rain water but very limited after 2 days. You have to flush the toilets by hand. The window was a mosquito net which makes us two girls a little bit uncomfortable at night especially if the dogs started barking.

Baru is advertised incorrectly BUT if you set your expectations right, you will have a good time here. + It is a beautiful beach with wonderful water, where you can have a dip in during 24h if you stay at The Wizard 😍 + their fresh juices are very yummy, try them 👌 + pizza & pancakes were also good, but we didn't like the burger & the pasta + the toilet & shower area was very clean + staff was always available & kind Be aware that: - there is limited electricity on the island so you are only able to charge your stuff at night - there is no running water. But there is sweet water available to get the salt of your body - the prices on the whole island are completely overpriced (if you travel by land there will be a sign telling you what the 'normal' prices are -we paid 35000 COP/ P to get back to Cartagena by boat (booked at the hotel desk) , had to switch boats in the middle of the sea with our big backpacks (that we would have left in Cartagena if we'd have know how rustic the island is) and after a huge waiting time to get started, it took way longer than told

Excellent hostel with superb service. The staff was very helpful, ensuring cleanliness on the beach and in sanitary facilities (considering the conditions). Loved the unique ambiance, colors, and lighting. Ideal for a one or two-night stay. Highly recommended!"

We had a bad encounter with one of the bar/lounges a few spots away and as we were walking those same guys were following us and taunting us so we came to this lounge to wait it out and David the bartender was so so amazing. He was so kind and helped us to get back to another parking lot to go back to the hotel in Cartagena. Just for his honesty and kindness I would come back to this lounge. The seating is very comfortable and the drink that he made me was so good. A lot of people get taken advantage of as tourists and today that happened to us without any further ado we just wanted to walk away with no trouble as my daughter was with us. David was great and I will be forever grateful.

Staff was super friendly and the beach was amazing. Toilets and bathroom outside of the room. Music until 22h00. Crowded from 9h to 16h and a lot of pedler harrassing you during these hour. Électricity only during the night and NO WIFI ! Food and drinks were really good.

👍👍 One of the nicest hostels in Cartagena. Staff is as friendly as human beings can be! Very very helpful and fun to have a chat with. 😠 A very bad rip-off experience: My review concerns the restaurant (not the hotel). A tour from Cartagena took us to this place to eat lunch which was "included" in the price. When we arrived at the restaurant, the waiter asked us whether we wanted to eat fish, shrimps, ceviche (and some other option...
