Our favorite restaurant in Cartagena. Amazing service and food. The staff are attentive and speedy. The lentil croquettes are mouth watering. The coffee is creamy and made to perfection. Visiting this place is an absolute delight. Don't forget to try the coconut lemonade. I enjoyed everything we ordered. I think we stopped at El Barón for a total of 5 times.

Superb tapas, wonderful setting, great cocktails. Staff were very friendly. Highly recommend. The Tapas was outstanding we had to order more because it was that good. The staff were excellent they were bilingual so were able to communicate in both Spanish and English. Seating inside and outside, the outside seating faced onto the square in front of the church. Be aware that people will try to sell you things. Cocktails are wonderful very flavoursome some of the best we’ve had.

By far the best cocktails we had in Cartagena. You can choose to sit inside (two different areas - one more intimate and the other a little more vibey) or outside, and we sat in both indoor areas. I had the Blitz, Gin Basil Smash and the Blume cocktails and they all had good flavour balance and were enjoyable to drink. We also shared the mushroom croquetas and the chicken sliders which were tasty.

Highly recommend that you sit inside! Not only will you get the chance to cool off, the interior aesthetics rivals that of New York style lounges. Wonderful drinks. One of my favorite places in all of Cartagena to get a drink. Or two. There are several mainstays on their menu that you must try, and feel free to ask their bartender for some recommendations. El Baron is one of the premier cocktail destinations in this city, and you should carve out time in your evening to experience them. The service is phenomenal. We felt taken care of even though a large party from a wedding came in shortly after we did. The space isn’t huge but can accommodate a crowd. We felt like it was a very intimate and inviting spot. I would highly recommend if craft cocktails and stellar hospitality is your thing!

I’ve been twice (recently), once at night and had cocktails and a couple of bites and everything was delicious. We had the patatas bravas and the croquetas de carne and food was amazing. Today I’ve come for brunch and was disappointed to find it nearly empty, specially since the food was GREAT! So much so I didn’t even have time to get a picture. My husband ordered huevos rancheros and they were the best we’ve had. I had the breakfast sandwich and it was great also. I stumbled onto this place while sightseeing in Old Town Cartagena. It's a tiny dive-bar with the tastiest drinks I've had! I've travelled to many countries and tried out hundreds of different bars. This one takes the cake. My favorite drink here is the "Rosarito." It is arguably the best cocktail i've had! The staff is super accommodating and the drinks are sublime.

And the exterior seating is in a picture perfect historic Cartagena plaza complete with a 16th century church. But, the best part of a visit to El Barón is their people! Everyone who works there is unbelievably friendly, helpful, and hardworking. Angie, Manuel, Shirley, Jorge, Luis (and all the bartenders, servers, and other team members we interacted with) are fantastic! They provided amazing recommendations on drinks and food, they were happy to provide local tips about Cartagena, and really made our time at El Baron (and Cartagena!) super enjoyable and memorable! Highly recommend a visit (or two) to El Baron! You won't be disappointed.

Went here for my birthday brunch. Decent spot. They gave a complimentary cake which was nice of them. The pollo roti was a bit over salted but very flavorful and juicy. The drinks were good, but nothing stellar.

The cocktails are incredibly artisinal, the food is fantastic and gourmet, and the location is superb (on a great open plaza with beautiful views of San Pedro Claver Cathedral). Only thing to beware of is that the service isn't particularly speedy, but that's pretty typical in Colombia.

Best cocktail bar with elevated food in Cartagena. The bartenders are all classically trained and can whip up an off menu drink that will be meet and exceed your standards. The food is is great variety where you can enjoy small bites (tapas) or have a full blown dinner (with dessert). As a regular, I've tried everything on the menu and some of my favorites include the burrata, crab dip, house burger, steak, and truffles cream pasta. You can't go wrong, I promise!

Love the food here and their craft cocktails are next level. This is definitely worth checking out. I recommend the chicken Roti and/or wiki-ing St. Peter Claver while throwing back some libations on their outdoor patio area.
