Super
disappointing
experience.
I
was
traveling
alone
and
popped
in
early,
at
6:30pm,
to
have
a
quick
drink
and
appetizer.
When
I
arrived,
I
asked
the
hostess
if
I
could
sit
at
the
bar
to
do
so.
She
said
yes,
and
I
walked
myself
to
the
bar.
At
6:30pm,
the
restaurant
was
operating
as
if
it
wasn’t
even
open
to
guests.
The
staff
was
getting
ready
in
the
bathrooms
and
the
bartenders
were
more
interested
in
preparing
simple
syrup
for
the
evening
ahead
than
they
were
in
helping
me
with
my
order.
I
had
to
ask
for
the
menu
twice.
When
I
finally
received
my
glass
of
wine,
I
asked
—
for
a
third
time
—
to
see
the
food
menu.
A
waitress
finally
brought
it
to
me.
All
I
wanted
was
an
appetizer
(I
was
starving).
And
when
I
finally
got
the
attention
of
a
bartender
to
ask
for
my
food,
she
said
I
couldn’t
order
food
at
the
bar.
What...??
I
went
and
spoke
with
the
hostess
who
had
seated
me.
The
manager
came
to
me
instead
and
was
defensive,
rude,
and
insisted
that
I
couldn’t
eat
because
they
had
full
capacity
of
reservations
(mind
you
the
restaurant
was
COMPLETELY
EMPTY
at
this
point).
I
explained
that
that
was
fine,
but
I
wished
that
they
had
told
me
that
when
I
walked
in
—
Otherwise
I
wouldn’t
have
spent
a
frustrating
thirty
minutes
trying
to
get
the
staff
to
pour
me
a
glass
of
wine
and
serve
me
a
tiny
appetizer.
I
left
without
finishing
the
overpriced
glass
of
wine.
The
most
disappointing
part
was
how
I
was
made
to
feel
like
I
was
somehow
in
the
wrong.
Despite
the
frustrating
experience,
I
was
patient
when
I
spoke
with
the
manager.
But
he
was
so
awful
—
the
exact
opposite
of
hospitable
—
and
I
left
almost
in
tears.
I
am
a
tourist,
but
I
speak
Spanish,
and
I
was
being
very
polite
and
patient,
despite
the
entire
situation.
It
was
so
disappointing
for
a
supposed
“institution”
to
have
such
terrible
customer
service.
Do
NOT
come
here
without
a
reservation,
whatever
you
do.
