The place is good in many ways. I was here at an early hour, 10:00 am, for brunch. I was happy with the attention from our waitress Lili, the people in general were friendly. I cannot state an opinion on other hours of operations. It is located in a very touristic area so I expect it might get a lot busier. Food was good but keep in mind that in many places in Colombia, they will add salt to your food unless you tell them not to; my extra portion of avocados came with salt. La mojarra frita was good but a little greasy. I like the taste of the coffee and coffee with milk. It is a low key restaurant so don't expect luxury, like some people complaining about the look. In my opinion, this place is a little gem, very local, the look is one of the traditions, there is some people living here, which adds to the cultural experience. Check my pictures for letter more.

Nice little place in the heart of Getsemani. And the food like your grandma cooked it! Reasonably priced. Love it. Going back there for sure.

Good food in a rustic setting. More a local place then a place for tourists. We loved our vegetarian plate. They make their own picante sauce which is delicious.

Great fried fish dish with coconut rice and local juice.

We absolutely loved Mama Nilma’s Restaurant! Heard about it from Happy Cow and so glad we went. Quaint family establishment and great vegetarian options. The coconut rice is the absolute best! Keep an eye out for their cute cat Francesca. :)

I stumbled on this place yesterday at 10.30am. Nice little shop of bags, with a little restaurant inside. We had a very nice coffee and Coco cola. The service was excellent and the prices were cheap. Then evening wandering aimlessly we found it again, and had pizza and beer. The food was delicious, and again it was cheap. I totally recommend this place to everyone.

Low key local and traditional food. Very tasty, made with love, and quite affordable. Only open for lunch! At night it is only mojitos and sometimes pizza.

Believe what the other reviews say, this understated place is honest and the sort of place I hoped to find in Cartagena, serving wholesome home cooked style food at realistic prices. The patacones in my tasty pork asado were the best I've had in a month in Colombia. Charming service too.

Like others I happened upon this place, had not had breakfast yet 11am and this was exactly what I needed. Plain arepas served alongside scrambled eggs with onions and pieces of cheese, Coca Cola..Was happy to eat at what seemed like a family place.

Great home-style food at a good price! Highly recommend stopping here. It's very welcoming and enjoyable.

We stopped here as they had live music playing and a cool street feel. The unfortunate part for us was that we had a French couple next to us smoking cigarettes non-stop, literally one right after the other. This bears mentioning because 1) We barely smelled any cigarette smoke the entire ten days 2) How could one let alone two people be so ignorant of their own actions when nobody else was smoking. Nevertheless, back to the review. Despite the smoke, the music was great, the staff were super fast and it was super inexpensive. I would recommend you stopping by for some people watching on the street.

Hole in the wall, family owned, small little courtyard/hallway sitting area. To sum it up, it’s truly a hidden GEM! Very friendly local family and amazing, home cooked, authentic Colombian cuisine. Checks all the boxes if you want to experience a local view of a typical Colombian household while getting a great taste of their tasty cuisine for really cheap (very cost effective). Don’t be fooled by the emplacement as it is the family’s modest home.
