Our room had a good view, but given the price, this is 1 star. Also, avoid Discovery travel in the lobby. That place is the biggest ripoff. They charged us $85,000 pesos for a city tour and people who went on the same exact tour were paying $50,000 pesos. We were equally ripped off on the tour to the volcano. I should have known something was strange when we were offered a "discount" based on our room number, a discount that doesn't even exist. The manager of the hotel was initially surprised but then they didn't do anything. They say Discovery is not part of the hotel, but the hotel is allowing them to operate in the lobby.

got to the hotel to check in, paid $220 CAN. Found out they made a mistake on our room and only had 1 king bed left then tried to change $53.00 more for an extra guest (3 total) since it wasn’t a big enough room… we ended up arguing with the manager (who spoke very good English) and they would not give us the third guest for the original price… ended up cancelling the room all together and would never recommend this hotel to anyone! good luck!

I Don't recommend this hotel. Cartagena is an amazing city, but if you stay in a bad hotel. Your vacations won't be the same. The pictures are not the same. We stayed for 3 days and our room wasn't great. During night we can heard all the sounds from the street. We could barely sleep. The towels were pretty bad and if you want to go to the pool. You literally have one option. At this time they just had one pool available in the 18th floor, which was pretty small and it didn't have view of the ocean. Also in the pool they didn't have a bar, so you need to go to the first floor order food and or drinks and either pay room service $7,000 or pick up your own order. If you want to go to the beach. You need to cross the street and rent a chair with umbrella, but this is another cost. They charge you around $25,000 -30,000. This charge needs to be paid with cash. When we came from the beach, they send us to the back of the hotel, where they have a shower, but the entry to this shower is pretty bad and it looks like very weird. I wouldn't go if I was by myself. The door didn't open well and everything look pretty old. We were pretty disappointed that the pictures weren't the same in real life. They don't have fridge at the room, which was very uncomfortable for us as when we need water or something. We couldn't leave it in order to be cold for the weather. If you want to drink water. You need to buy it. They just left empty glass at the room. If you are in your honeymoon, they don't offer any courtesy. I hope this information helps other to don't make our mistake.

Pics are deceiving. The hotel rooms are very dated, empty and not taken care of. For example the shower door have caked in mould, the tiles are from the 60s. I would give them more stars if not for the deception of the “remodeled rooms”

Everything was impeccably clean. The hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. I speak Spanish, so communication was no problem. The hotel restaurant served an international menu but with delightful, local touches.

Nice service, good taste, the location could be better, and the noises are sometimes very uncomfortable, I'd say I'll be back

Everything was perfect. The hotel has a nice beachfront view and it is also in the middle of Bocagrande downtown. A few minutes by Taxi from the old city. The staff was extremely friendly and always there to help when needed. I strongly recommend this hotel. We will definitely come back. Greetings from your Canadian client.

It was wonderful. I had a room with two different rooms facing the ocean on the 16th floor. Very convenient location. In front of the beach with many restaurants around walking distance. The breakfast could be better. The pools were magnificent. They had great views. They are small, but there were hardly ever people in them.

Lorenza Navarrete 1/5 just now on Google Horrible! DO NOT stay here. The staff is incredibly rude. The receptionist are the opposite of helpful, they will not assist you with anything. They will mention a different tariff when booking but once you arrive they charge extra fees!!!! Cleaning service lame. Also only 2 elevators for all floors so it’s always full or take forever to be available so guest have to take the stairs. Breakfast really bad. Do not book with them.

Stayed here for over a week, it's unfortunate others didn't have a good experience because I thought the hotel was beautiful and the staff super helpful. Beautiful views and the room had everything we wanted and needed. I would definitely stay here again!

Worst hotel I have ever stayed at. They are charging more than this place is worth. They lie in their pictures, it does not look like they say it does. The hotel clerk is got a bad attitude and does not help you at all. There are 2 of us staying here and they only gave us one room key. If we lose the room key and can’t get to our room, the hotel clerk won’t give you another one so you can get up to your room. I’m so mad, I’m livid. Do not ever stay here.

We had a terrible experience at the reGatta in Cartagena. No telephone access to front desk, smelled moldy, wouldn’t give us a second key when locked out of our room with only PJs on. Pool is small and no sunlight. No minibar, cat fished us online with pictures, no help at front for anything. Had to carry my bags myself when I had 4 bags. Front desk staff can’t speak English and I think every hotel should have someone who speaks English. All the staff were rude.

My business partner and I stayed here for a week with our significant others. This was our first trip to Colombia. For pros, the staff was polite and helpful even with the language barrier (one guy spoke English well but wasn't always available, so if you don't speak Spanish, expect to use Google Translate). Breakfast was also great. I loved the coffee. For cons, the rooms were a bit quirky. We only got one room key for a two room suite sleeping four people. On our side, when the shower water was at full pressure it would splash and get the entire bathroom floor wet. The windows had gaps that made the wind howl at night. All things considered, this place is not as nice as the photos imply but not as bad as other reviewers make it seem.

Very rude, aggressive and presumptuous staff. The hotel is not 4 starts by any measure. They need to learn that is because of the tourism that they have a job and not the other way around

Literally the worst hotel. So I was electrocuted trying to plug in my phone. Front desk was like oh that’s unfortunate we’ll bring up maintenance (room 605) and they never came. This hotel hasn’t seen fresh paint or ideas in probably over 30 years. Breakfast was alright but the last day of our stay I’m certain it lowkey gave me food poisoning. I would take a shower and felt instantly dirty. Would have been better off sleeping on the beach across the street if they didn’t close it at night.

Do NOT stay here, The only good thing; it's across the street from the beach. I think we had a standard room. It does NOT COME with fridge, microwave, hairdryers. Nothing. We asked for a fridge and it did not work. Typical. The bathroom was very small, and only 1 person at a time. The free breakfast rated C. Dried scrambled eggs, miniature empanadas.. which were quite tasty. Dry cereal, and fresh fruits. The dinner menu was surprisingly good, We had the Salmon and I chicken nuggets, Very good and reasonable, The staff were all very nice and helpful. One odd incident happened; They only gave us one key card, When I asked for another one, a man came up to our room and opened the door. I had to BEG for a 2nd key, Was very aggravating and strange, Would we stay here again... NO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is MAX a 2-star hotel. No way this is a 4-star hotel. The hotel is really dated. The website pictures are extremely deceiving, as the Reality does not resemble the online pictures. If your room is on levels above 10th floor the noise of the AC machinery from the adjacent shopping mall will flood your room as the windows are not sound proof… We felt this hotel is the opposite of a value for money proposition. Too much money for the little value that it offers…

I stayed at the Regatta for 4 days and 3 nights… on the 3rd day the service at the bar was horrible. The bartenders were very rude and dismissive. We sat down and 15-20 mins went by and they never came up to us to give a menu or take our order. However, a Spanish speaking couple came in and they immediately got a menu. Overall, service today was horrible. Especially from the “manager”, which nobody seems to know who it is when you want to make a complaint.

The description of this hotel is a bit deceiving, Yes it is an ocean front property and we have a nice Junior suite overlooking the ocean but the rooms are not clean and need some repairs, and hotel feels dated. There are two small pools one on the 11th floor and one on the 18th floor. The staff is amazing and very helpful and the buffet breakfast in the morning is very good, and they have a bar that serves good drinks. However, the value of the room isn't there even though the location is perfect.

Only saving grace for this hotel is some of the staff which were extremely kind and willing to help. Otherwise the hotel is a mess, the rooms are dated and poorly maintained, multiple floors are under construction and debris may fall on your head of you're on the 7th floor pool. When coming back from the beach the guard will ask you to go through the back gate to wash the sand off your feet (why not just have this at the door?) and enter the hotel through the 2nd floor where they have a mess of construction materials laying around. Beach pictures are deceiving, umbrellas have to be rented from locals at a price set based on how you look and you will not have a second to yourself with all the street vendors asking you to buy something from them.

This is a very nice hotel with a friendly staff. The location is great. The reason I did not give 5 stars is that this is a busy weekend as it is Fall Break in Colombia and the management has done a poor job preparing for it or they are generally understaffed. I would have expected that they staff more for busy periods like this but they did not and that's disappointing that we and other guests seem to be waiting all the time for everything. The staff is doing a good job under the circumstances and that's why I blame the management for this mistake.
