Staying at Las Carretas was the best hotel experience of my life. The staff is friendly, and helpful-so much so that they will notice things you need and bring them to you before you even ask. Comfortable rooms. We had an interior room so we weren't bothered by noise from the street. The complimentary breakfast is delicious.

The hotel is just Lovely and the rooms are well appointed. The staff are so friendly and want to help make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The breakfast includes a continental breakfast, typical Colombian dishes, as well as a choice of eggs and pancakes, variety of fruit, yogurt, juices. The only reason that I gave less than five stars is that the noise from the area. It’s so close to the clock tower area and it very noisy. We had a room in the front of the building and could hear music until 3:30 in the morning. If you could choose this location, be aware that rooms in the front of the building it will be noisy.

This Hotel is located in the noisiest party street in Cartagena. We arrived and its incredibly loud from the streets. Music, people screaming, emergency alarms etc. We asked to change room since it’s impossible to sleep and the receptionist just told us that its not possible and we should just wait until 2:30am as this is the time the noise will stop. I asked at 11:30pm, just for the records. Thats why only 2 Stars. The rooms are nice and clean, breakfast ok - there could be more diversity. Staff friendly but below average in Columbia.

Very nice hotel in a fantastic location. We stayed on a Saturday night and this place is right in the middle of the bustling night life. Despite this you can still get off to sleep without the noise keeping you awake. The room was very clean and comfortable, the air con worked very well and the water in the bathroom was hot. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Lionel in particular was really helpful and spoke very good English as did other staff members. The included breakfast was very good with a good range of choices. Breakfast is served in the lovely courtyard in the middle although I am unsure of what happens if it rains? The place is very secure as you have to buzz in from the street. They allow you to leave luggage if you arrive early or check out early and want to go for a wander around. They put tags on your left items and store them at the manned check in desk. The desk is manned 24/7 to allow for buzzing in guests etc. The pool is not full size but is a nice place for a quick dip to cool down and is on the roof top. It doesn’t have a great view as it is amongst a collection of rooms and other tall buildings. The prices are reasonable and I would highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed in five hotels across Colombia and ten across the americas. This one was the second most expensive but the least impressive. The room we had was spacious, yet had NO WINDOWS, which was quite claustrophobic although neither my partner nor myself have such phobia. We asked for an alternative room, however, the one they offered us was too small, so we were stuck with the window-less room for 3 nights. Having a room without a window should be disclosed clearly when booking the room. This is not something that I was at the look out for when booking a hotel with such price. Also, the hotel staff NOT THE MOST WELCOMING. In other hotels we were often greeted with a smile or hello when passing by hotel staff but that wasn’t the case in this hotel. I am not being too picky here but it’s important to feel welcomed, especially when on vacation. The breakfast is also average, but not a big deal. In a nutshell, value for money is pretty low here specially with a city like Cartagena where you have better options. On our way back from Baru island, we stayed in another hotel for half the price and absolutely loved it!

Antonio made our stay so lovely from start to finish. He greeted us the first night and helped us settle in. All of the staff are the sweetest and so helpful. Breakfast every morning was A+ (coffee was out of this world!!). You cannot beat the location - you are right in the middle of the action. Our only complaint was the noise. But honestly 100% worth it. If you plan on traveling to Cartagena you should definitely check out this hotel. Looking forward to my next stay!

Cosy, clean and friendly! Breakfast served every morning was great. Enjoyed the little court yard. People who are staying there are mindful of other people’s space. There is a club about 1 block away, but barely could hear the deep bass. Air condition works well in the room, and there is clean showers. Two levels with some rooms facing the street, some are not. We stayed at a corner unit next to the kitchen. Do hear occasional noises during the day from the kitchen (only servers breakfast) but most of the time, very peaceful.

Warning!! Loud loud noise but here is a my solution. 1st get very very tired at before nighttime. Do a bunch of activities. 2 #2 play white noise on YouTube and earplug. I am a light sleeper and noise is big problem with me especially with this Colombian culture. Btw we stay in one of the “quieter” room by the courtyard. We found a quieter hotel by other part of the town that we will go next time. I wouldn’t recommend this to any of my friend. Haha. Beside the noise with my warning aside, I can say they did their best to make our stay comfortable. Bed is made everyday. Water is everywhere whenever. Pool is deep and good enough. Towels for the beach. Spacious room for two. There are steps but during day time they will help you. Breakfast is okie. I love the fresh eggs and fruit. E eye thing else is okie. We went out for good coffee.

The hotel is beautiful, However there is a club almost nextdoor that will play loud music till (1 AM mon-thu and 3 AM fri-sun) YOU WILL NOT SLEEP UNTIL THEY STOP. So keep that in mind.

We couldn't have stayed in a better hotel in Cartagena! The accommodations in the room were comfortable, the balcony was perfect for enjoying the bustling streets of the old city, and the top deck with pool was wonderful. The staff was attentive, kind, and always ready to help. The provided breakfast in the morning was excellent. A different, traditional Colombian food was served each day on top of the standard fruit, cheese, coffee, etc. and eggs made to order. It was a wonderful way to start the day in the courtyard. The main door was secured at night for added peace of mind in the city. I cannot say enough about this fantastic travel experience - look no further for your Cartagena hotel!

Nice cool room. Very quiet even though we're next to the (fairly small) pool. Very good, simple breakfast. Multi lingual staff too.

Amazing. The photos really are an accurate representation of the hotel. The staff are super friendly and cater for all manner of out-of-hour requests. (That's NOT code for cocaine... It just means that helped with laundry, midnight snacks, lost wallet panics etc etc)

Best hotel we stayed at during our trip. The rooms are super nice (if you're a light sleeper make be ask for one not facing the street), staff is very friendly, delicious breakfast and the pool is great for cooling down in the afternoon.

Nice and perfectly located hotel with friendly service and good price/performance ratio. There is also a small pool on the 3rd floor which suits for a cool refreshment in the humid hours of Cartagena.

Fabulous B&B in heart of old town We totally enjoyed our stay in mid January 2017. This is a jewel of a property right in the heart of the old city. We had a private patio which overlooked the bustling street in front of the property. Our room was spacious, clean and charming. The air conditioning was superb. The staff was helpful, kind and so friendly. Our breakfasts were so tasty. Plus the pool on the top level was so inviting. Highly recommend this property for your stay in Cartagena.

Excelente to relax, close to La Bodeguita and bars. And we also found a place to eat lunch with reasonable prices (san valentin) so, it was a very great selection. The staff was amazing, breakfast delicious and there was something about our bed that made us sleep like babies.

This boutique hotel is amazing! The room we had was spacious, very clean, and included everything we needed. We were celebrating a birthday and on our arrival, they had given us a cake and balloons. We arrived a bit early so they also gave us welcome drinks and held our bags until check -in so we could walk around the walled city. Our experience was made all the better by the front desk staff, specifically Antonio and Ximena. They helped us with translating, gave us suggestions, and just overall made us feel welcome. Others complained about the noise and though we could kind of hear the music, it didn't bother us in the slightest. Hotel is in a prime location in the Walled City, so we could walk to everywhere we needed to be in 5 mins or less. There's always someone at the front at night so it felt very safe, even for two females traveling. Breakfast in the morning was an added plus and very delicious. Would definitely recommend to stay here!
