This hostel feels more like a home than a hostel and in fact it is the owners (and his 3 dogs) home. Oscar was very helpfull and nice and you felt he was interested and cared about how you feel and if everything is ok. The accomodation is basic but offers what you need: bathroom, Kitchen and a placeplace to hang around with others... I had a great time over there and would definitely recommend staying there. This is probably the best value hostel in Cartagena. At 12000 cop per bunk, it's hard to beat. Place is basic but clean and has a little courtyard with hammocks. It is very small, so if you're looking for a party scene, this isn't it! No AC, be warned. Staff is super nice. Bit of a walk to tourist center -20 mins.

My favourite hostel in Cartagena. Really friendly staff, comfortable beds and two clean kitchens!! More of a hostel to chill out at but has a real friendly vibe. Also three very friendly dogs.

Probably a good place if you prefer the idea of staying at somebody’s house rather than a hostel. The people were friendly, but we found the place rather uncomfortable, very hot in the rooms, no lock on the door (had to provide for one ourselves) and generally outdated. Also the dogs crapped all over the yard. Wifi was good though. The neighbourhood appeared quite shady to us, also reflected in the reluctance of several taxi drivers to go there at night and warning us for our safety. We left the place early when we stumbled on an opportunity to change our plans. I think the place can be nice for specific people, but there are places in the middle of the old town area that are more luxurious and even cheaper.

Oscar was welcoming and most helpful during my stay. He helped during a difficult situation which I am most grateful off.

I stayed here for three weeks and it was absolutely amazing. The owner is super friendly, helpful and knows a lot about Cartagena and it's surroundings. The place is clean and tidy and you can use the kitchen when you want. The location is also quite good; 20min walking distance from the city center. Besides, the three dogs who live at the hostel are always happily welcoming you :) I would definitely recommend this hostel and it's host!

Very nice place, the owners are very helpful and care for the well being of thr people they host, The prices for the rooms are very good (starting at 12,000) it's close to the castillo san Felipe (basically a 6 minutes straight line walk to get there) and 15-20 minutes to get to la ciudad amurallada and the center. Also close to bus stops to bocagrande(nicest beach in town ) More or less 7,000pesos taxi ride to the center of you are able to bargain a bit otherwise up to 10,000(not worth it).

Someone stole our camera and wallet while we stayed there!!! Wallet was no problem, because it was empty (thief bait). The camera was cheap, but we had 1.5 month trip family photos in there. Someone was in our room, because we've set up a 'trap' to see if anyone would enter. Guy from reception was walking half naked, and got high on marihuana numerous times with one of the guests. We seriously doubted his personal hygiene. I don't want to judge people by their look but we're suprised that the owner hired someone looking like a junky. That's like the opposite of how receptionist should look like. Wouldn't recommend this place for anyone. Hope you'll consider this opinion when booking.
