Tourist
trap
if
you
are
not
careful.
They
definitely
increase
prices
for
all
tourist.
ASK
price
before
you
sit,
eat,
drink,
or
touch
anything.
Nothing
is
free
here
to
taste
or
touch.
Getting
here.
Do
not
take
taxi
service
from
el
Muelle
(pier
where
you
purchase
tickets)
nor
any
taxi
that
is
not
part
of
a
private
taxi
firm.
We
were
almost
kidnapped
and
robbed
by
taxi
driver
(license
plate
#
TEQ701.
He
went
by
the
name
of
Michael.
Private
security
guard
on
duty
from
a
corporate
company
on
road
assisted
us
and
called
police.
It
was
raining
so
hard
that
street
flooded.
Police
never
arrived.
Do
not
count
on
them
to
rescue
you.
Do
not
negotiate
with
local
street
taxi
drivers.
If
you
are
at
a
hotel,
speak
to
them
about
hiring
a
reputable
driver
from
cooperativa.
It
will
be
far
cheaper
and
safer.
As
for
the
beach,
it's
full
of
toxic
vendors
trying
to
sell
food,
massages,
chairs,
umbrellas,
drinks
and
boat
rides.
EXPENSIVE
tourist
trap.
Once
you
accept,
be
aware
that
you
may
leave
without
all
of
your
money
and
soul.
Once
you
set
foot
on
this
beach,
they
surround
you
and
promise
the
best
area.
DO
NOT
get
on
a
boat
to
travel
to
playa
tranquila.
It's
the
same
damn
beach
strip.
Walk
along
the
beach
towards
decameron
and
it
does
get
more
peaceful
and
water
becomes
much
clearer.
No,
you
cannot
just
place
a
towel
and
claim
a
spot.
You
must
pay
to
stay.
My
suggestion
is
to
book
a
stay
at
the
resort
hotel
decameron
which
does
not
allow
toxic
vendors.
We
did
not
stay
here
but
ran
into
many
tourist
while
visiting
Cartagena
and
they
raved
on
the
5
star
service.
We
will
definitely
visit
again
but
will
stay
at
resort
as
it
is
much
safer.
