Beautiful beach and lots to do, but be careful many scammers in restaurants who overcharge. Make sure to ask prices for everything and see menu to confirm.

If you like to be surrounded by scammers and obnoxious people on a beach where you can't relax, then this place is for you! Seriously, if you're a tourist from the U.S. or Canada... stay away for your own good.

The beach is very crowded. There are many vendors trying to sell you stuff. Watch out for men being extra nice to you and arranging you a beach bed or showing you around, they charge you a huge inappropriate tip and don’t back down when you don’t want to pay. The beach would be beautiful but unfortunately the people there destroy it.

Do yourself a favor and don’t come here. Looks nice on photos but there was trash all over the place, swamps with debris behind the huts and flies everywhere even on the beach it was impossible to relax and enjoy ourselves we wound up leaving after about 20 minutes.

The beach is very pretty, no doubt it is one of the most beautiful beaches we’ve been to. The water is crystal clear and it’s a great place spend a sunny day. They have a good infrastructure, with a lot of restaurants, bars and hostels. Playa Blanca is the most popular beach in Cartagena so you can expect it to be very busy. You are going to find a lot of people trying to sell products and services all the time. At some point it gets overwhelming. Also be prepared to the noisy boats that come and go to the coast all the time. TAKE CARE and ask for the price before buying anything! They accept credit card but some places charge 20% over the price you were originally paying!

Tourist trap if you are not careful. They definitely increase prices for all tourist. ASK price before you sit, eat, drink, or touch anything. Nothing is free here to taste or touch. Getting here. Do not take taxi service from el Muelle (pier where you purchase tickets) nor any taxi that is not part of a private taxi firm. We were almost kidnapped and robbed by taxi driver (license plate # TEQ701. He went by the name of Michael. Private security guard on duty from a corporate company on road assisted us and called police. It was raining so hard that street flooded. Police never arrived. Do not count on them to rescue you. Do not negotiate with local street taxi drivers. If you are at a hotel, speak to them about hiring a reputable driver from cooperativa. It will be far cheaper and safer. As for the beach, it's full of toxic vendors trying to sell food, massages, chairs, umbrellas, drinks and boat rides. EXPENSIVE tourist trap. Once you accept, be aware that you may leave without all of your money and soul. Once you set foot on this beach, they surround you and promise the best area. DO NOT get on a boat to travel to playa tranquila. It's the same damn beach strip. Walk along the beach towards decameron and it does get more peaceful and water becomes much clearer. No, you cannot just place a towel and claim a spot. You must pay to stay. My suggestion is to book a stay at the resort hotel decameron which does not allow toxic vendors. We did not stay here but ran into many tourist while visiting Cartagena and they raved on the 5 star service. We will definitely visit again but will stay at resort as it is much safer.

This beach is a pretty place, but is completely over exploded, the walking entrance is completely disgusting, full of trash and debris. There is a lot of vendors pushing you to spend money. Bad experience, will never go there again.

We were lucky it wasnt too crowded, look at the pics, it's dreamy, some parts of the beach you cant get to the water but just walk a few steps away to get in the water, not big deal. I wish they didnt have jet ski rentals there, sometimes the smell of gas is annoying, but no so much to miss this place.

Where to start ! We spand 5 nights ij this area ! So the positives are: great location, great sea, some very good restaurant..... Negatives - weekends here better avoid ! Lots of anoying salers ... if you are white they will try to robe you all the time. they will trying to sell you everything, many times as possible. But the prices, you must use your head, for example ich something cost 120 000 pesos... dont pay more than 25 max 30 000 pesos... they still have prosift a you still paying a lot ! ... 1/5 of his first price is fair eveything upper is overpaying ! Always ask about the price before you get that thing, whatch out about creditcard payment and ask how much is a fee..... one time they charge us like 10% tips + 20% creditcard fees ! But the place is still worth of visit ! ;)

Beautiful place, head as far east as you can, less crowded, have exact change if you make a purchase from a wandering salesman, they'll tell you they'll bring change back, and you never see them again 😒 Its raw and beautiful, clear water, lots of coral, be careful, ignore the sales people, enjoy the scenery! Loved it! And the Caribbean water temp is perfect and refreshing in sept!!!!!

Very hot and humid. No A/C in our rooms. Many flies around food. Very friendly staff. Beach drops off quickly. Dangerous to snorkle with boats and jet skies too close.

It's a most beautiful beach you can find around. The local restaurants are nice, they serve good food. The sand is white and the water is barely crystal clear. But there are things to keep in mind: • Some places on the beach have rocks that can harm your feet. So ask where are those places or bring a pair of bathing shoes. • This place can be crowded as hell, you need to be cautious about the informal vendors. They can trick you by asking for a taste of what they are selling. • There are plenty of boats near the shore, you need to be super cautious about these. There are jet skies too but they tend to be further from the coast. Other than that, enjoy your trip! 🏖️

Beautiful beach , wonderful experience, the sales people are all around but you can respectfully decline they’re not mean or anything. The food they sell however is so good! The fish and fruit are super fresh and the drinks are very good. The only thing is that the water is choppy from all the boats. But overall 10/10

Great beach with beautiful sand and gorgeous water. There are rocks in some places when you enter the water but turns sandy after about 10ft. Cheap beer and food but vendors are everywhere. Suggest coming early and during the week to reduce the crowds.
