Well... I’m seeing mostly good ratings for this place which is confusing to me. Maybe I just came at a bad time, but it seems like this place is one of the biggest tourist traps. Everything was advertised on booking as included in the high price of staying the night here. Turns out nothing is included except for very mediocre meals that would cost no more than 30.000 COP on the mainland. Drinks are enormously pricey. The wifi basically doesn’t work. The spa was closed. The hot tub was closed. The only thing that seemed to be open was the pool. And I guess the kayaks. The bus barely had functional air conditioning. They have call buttons that call staff members to your location for beverage orders etc, but they don’t work. The employees will show up 20 minutes later. I truly don’t understand why the price is so high. I would not stay here even if it was located in an even more prime spot. Was going to propose to my girlfriend here but there is no way I’m wasting my ring at this place. They need to figure out a better business model if they want to last.

I’m only here to comment on the transportation. In a word: awful. If you’re sitting at the front of the boat and it’s a clear sunny day with little to no wind, the captain is going to fly the 40 minute terror show of a boat ride the entire time as fast as the boat can possibly go. The very tiny crests in the water at that speed can cause the front of the boat to slam onto the water with 2-4 feet drops depending on if the captain sees another boat’s wake to speed into. Your teeth will hit each other on impact, your entire body will be shoved around. And since you already paid: they don’t care. We spoke to the captain and he he blamed the weather. The windless beautiful weather was the blame. Not him. If you’re unlucky enough to sit at the front: you should swim back. Or better yet, go somewhere else.

We visited here on a cruise excursion. It was an hour ride in a speedboat to reach the resort. We were greeted by friendly staff and a delicious snack of fruits and coffee. The resort has beautiful lounge chairs along the beach. We enjoyed our time swimming in the sea and lounging with beautiful views. Lunch was included with our excursion and there was a nice variety of delicious, local food. This was a trip to remember.

It’s lovely place to relax ! If you’re looking for a resort with activities and entertainment, this may not be your best option. It’s more of a come to relax type of place. There’s no entertainment or activities advertised by the staff. The staff/servers 10/10 Cons : NOT ALL INCLUSIVE as advertised. Only meals and drinks provided during the meals. Water , alcoholic beverages & other beverages outside of meal times are CHARGED. No ATM on property. Only one restaurant, meals are very repeated with a slight twist added to make different. No entertainment, music , or activities. The food was ok , but very basic. Breakfast was the same everyday. Lunch the same Dinner was the most interesting it got. No closets in the rooms which is a little annoying if you’re staying a few days and want to unpack. Just a few hangers on a rack in the bathroom. BUGS ! INSECT REPELLENT IS NOT EVEN A DISCUSSION.

La isla del encanto hotel, located 45 mins from Cartagena by ship. This hotel offers and island experience, the rooms are small cabins surrounded by trees in front of a sea side. The rooms are comfy and spacious, with balconies. The hotel its promoted and valuated as exclusive hotel but it is a 3 star hotel. It is not exclusive. The rooms and pool area where they are located may be, but the dinning area, front desk and beach area are not exclusive. Although thr service crew its very nice and attentive, it takes very long for the food to arrive, and the quality of the food in general its just ok. Not good enough to meet its price.

I think this is a good day trip. Maybe we were lucky, but the boat ride to and from was pretty smooth sailing. The location is gorgeous. We went in late April and the water was beautiful and warm. There is a good little beach for swimming and plentiful seating. The included food was alright as well. Towels are available to rent. Overall a comfortable experience and perfect for what we were looking for!

By far the best hotel we’ve been in. The premises are amazing, ample rooms, very nice salt water pool. You can find a variety of animals around the premises, like iguanas or crabs. We were there in week days and it was relatively quiet. But the best of our stay was the service. People are so humble and attentive they make the experience one you won’t forget. We will definitely come back in the future!

We stayed in the hotel for a few nights. Overall i'd give it 3.5, it would be ok if it was a more reasonable price. But at this price point I'm expecting more than ok. The room deserves 5 stars, spacious, clean, comfortable, with air conditioning which worked all the time. The internet was spotty but it's understandable. The beach is tiny (3 stars maybe) and it is shared, so we only spent a couple of hours there. The water was clear but not crystal clear as in other places in Barú. No complaints about the pool area. However, service and food was more like 3 stars. In principle, there are several bars and buttons so you can call a waitress if you need something. I also understood it was "all inclusive" except for booze when booking. In reality, you get 3 meals each with one non-alcoholic drink. Only the bar located at the beach ( serving customers who paid for the day trip) was working. Only once, during a 3-day stay, a waitress asked us if we wanted/needed something - this was specially frustrating when we stayed at the beach and saw them offering the same day-customers drinks and food the whole time, they only bothered to ask us after the day-tripper's boat left. We would have spent a lot more, benefiting the hotel, if they had offered us anything (a menu after we asked if we could ordered some food before lunch? A drink so you don't have to go all the way to the bar?). They don't provide any entertainment, which is critical as there isn't almost any options outside the hotel in the evening. Not even an open bar playing music. They claimed it was because of the pandemic, but other hotels in the islands provide such basic space to hang/relax/mingle. I do have to say the staff were super friendly and attentive when you asked for something. It seems more like lack of awareness/training from the management side.

We were here on a day tour from Cartagena. Food was great and service was impeccable. The quiet beauty and calm waters made for a very relaxed beach day.

Amazing resort to come and relax. My wife and I along with our 2 year old had a great time here. Staff is very friendly and the manager goes above and beyond and is very friendly. The restaurant staff are also very friendly and attentive. The room attendants were awesome, cleaned our messy room and even organized our shoes, we had stuff all over the place (I blame the 2 year old) but we all know who it is. Very safe resort. Never had an issue finding a shady spot at the pool or beach. The trees in the front and breathtaking and provide a lot of shade. All in all, beautiful resort with wonderful employees.

The hotel is located in a beautiful remote area of a natural park in Barú, Cartagena, Colombia. The Junior suite had a stunning view of a pool with bar and the ocean. The rooms had AC and TV. In addition, they provide breakfast (buffet), lunch, and dinner at specific hours and good portion meals. If you order natural juices with the meal, then they would serve you unlimited juices, but if you order water or a soft drink, they will charge you the second one. The hotel have limited variety of snacks for sale as well. We went on a family trip and enjoyed the beach, the 2 pools, the delicious meals (international and local varied gourmet menus). Every single employee was super friendly and helpful. I didn't know everybody's names but my kudos go to the servers, the reception personnel, the cooks, and the maids. We had taken beautiful family pictures by Maria Camila, I had a facial in the spa (it was great specially after taking the sun for several days). We didn't take advantage of the kayak or paddle boarding, but it's also offered at the hotel. We went to a private tour around the islands with Andi and we had a great experience. We will definitely come back to Isla del Encanto! Travel tip: Bring your own first aid kit (Tylenol, Peptobismol, antibiotic ointment, etc) and good quality sunblock.

This is an excellent resort. I don't normally visit resorts, this is only the second in my life. Have to say I felt really relaxed by the end of it The good: excellent rooms, on point service, beautiful beach, and almost always decent food. The not so good: the red meat dishes are hit or miss (stick to seafood), jetskiers trying to flog rides ruin the beach ambience a bit with their noise and the smell of petrol. You'll pay a premium for average (albeit decent) wine.

My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary as well as my 40th birthday. Words fall short when it come to review this place. Everyone was kind, however there is a person in particular I really want to recognize. His name is LUCAS he was our waiter for the whole stay and WOW!!! This young fella was the highlight of our trip. He was so kind but what really made him stand out was his humbleness, courtesy and respect. If anyone who reads this review is planning to go there, ask for Lucas he is amazing !!!!! If the company owner and manager reads this, please know that you have a priceless employee who really leaves the name of the company on high. Please also let him know how valuable he is. I a manager myself and I can tell you that there is nothing better in this world than to appreciate your employess and to let them know what an amazing job they are doing. Lucas thank you for everything and God bless you 🙏

Went over for a beach day. Awesome staff, fantastic lunch (I'd go back just for the fish). The location is great to get away and play in the water. Only gave it a 4 star because the snorkeling was sub-par. Other than that, it's a great place.

It’s one of the best hotels in Cartagena. Amazing in all its ways: great ambiance, great food, great service… either to go for a day or to stay for some nights, this is the place!

Beautiful place to disconnect from everything! We stayed at the Master Suite and it was very spacious and pretty. Super comfortable bed, huge shower. A/C worked great. Very attentive and helpful staff. Food was very good! The beach is pretty nice and calm, some rocks when you get in though. Can't wait to go back.

My wife and I recently stayed here in January for our honeymoon after getting married in Cartagena. This place was a perfect spot to escape the busy center and RELAX. David and his brother Lucas were excellent servers that took care of us. The resort serves three meals per day (included) and it was perfect. Overall, the food was great! We've been to a Mexican all inclusive and, while nice, this place is more of a luxury boutique resort. (Bring neem oil for the little flies. Any waterfront in this part of the world will have them).

Not for North Americans. This place is run down, needs a lot of maintenance. Beach is small with murky water. The grounds are not well maintained. The food is average. Honestly, wish that I had not wasted my time coming here.

This may be one of the best experiences in Cartagena. The hotel is beautiful. The Pool area, the rooms, the beach are incredible. The food was very good, offering a nice variety for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The crew just makes the experience even better! Luis, Fabio, Kevin, Kelly, Rodolfo, Richard and all the rest are just the nicest team of people.

We went on a day trip here. Our guide Luci was so friendly and helpful. The beach amenities were very nice and it had an amazing pool. The staff were attentive and friendly. The buffet lunch was excellent. We did a snorkeling tour that was amazing.

My husband and I stayed here for our Anniversary and we had a great time. We were there this past weekend and the service was excellent. Gabriel at reception, Enger and Nestor from the restaurant were amazing. They made our stay even more enjoyable and easy. They all went above and beyond for us. I loved how small the hotel was which meant that it wouldn't be over crowded with people. The room was beautiful and clean. I was a bit concerned of bugs at first but I was so relieved when I noticed they spray everyday for bugs inside/out of the rooms. Overall, we had a pretty good time. Definitely a place we would return to.

Very very very good hotel. We had a great time in Hotel Isla del Encanto. Wonderful staff, food, drinks and beautiful area to be at. We enjoyed every second in the hotel. I can definitely recommend pinacoladas and all the good food and desserts! The staff were very helpful. One of the managers helped us to rent a boat back to Cartagena and also rent a car for our next trip. We even went on a short trip to City of Baru with one of the staff members who showed us around. Plus there are many activities that you can do like diving, snorkelling or paddle boarding. Overall it was a great experiment. 10/10 recommend :)
