“Luxury hotel” is subjective but my higher expectations were met considering the price. The rooftop provides unrestricted views of the Castillo and so did the excellent restaurant next door. We were very content there and would recommend it to others.

The hotel is very nice and well located. However, my family and I had an issue with a private tour we booked with the hotel to the Baru island. We paid $250,000.00 Colombian pesos which is around $65.00 dollars for it to one of the guys at the reception, for which I did not get a receipt but since it was being booked directly at the hotel you will trust. At the time I was checking out of the hotel, I was told by the manager Jonathan that I did not pay for the tour which was not true. It was a very uncomfortable situation in which there was not a single doubt about any of the hotel employees. I wouldn't recommend staying in a hotel where the customer is not trust and where the manager just tries to take advantage of the people staying at the hotel vacationing thinking they are dumb and stupid.

The hotel itself is beautiful, yet there are some pros and cons to staying at this hotel. And to be honest there are better options! PROS: *The location is great, you can walk everywhere from there. Taxis are always nearby. It's a beautiful colonial home, and the rooms are decent, nothing out of the ordinary. CONS: *When I selected my room I booked Option 1 which is 1 double bed that sleeps 2 for the price of $80 a night, yet when I arrived to the hotel with my husband I was told that I needed to pay an additional 100,000 pesos ($30) for him per night since I had not clarified he was coming along with me. I asked if I would be getting an upgraded room for the additional price, and they said I wasn't I just had to pay for him to stay along with me.(Something that has never happened to me before and trust me I live in hotels as a Flight attendant ) I ended up paying way more for this hotel than I would have liked, I believe that for such price I could've stayed at the better options around this area. (Also I witness another couple having to pay extra while checking in so its a little scam they like to play) *The Breakfast is decent, eggs with toast and whatever side they have for the day. One day it was one chicken nugget and a few fries, another it was a spoonful side of mashed potatoes. Not to sound ungrateful but for the additional charge of $30 a night for my husband, I expected more. In other words, there are better options!

I ran into this hotel because the power in town went out and I had a huge virtual workshop that I was leading. They let me in, gave me the wifi code (as they had a generator), and were incredibly kind to me all day. I spent the day working and the facilities were kept immaculate. The common bathrooms were cleaned and serviced what felt like every hour. The staff were all super friendly, warm, and gracious. The property looks beautiful and is well-situated near tons of bars and restaurants. I am incredibly grateful and would definitely stay here in the future. Special thanks to Efrain!

Pros - Great location inside the wall city. Convenient and safe walk to major tourist sites. - Facility itself is quite charming. Friendly and helpful front desk who speak English added to our convenience. - Complimentary breakfast was quite nice but choice was limited. We enjoyed the beautiful enclosed garden with nice seating arrangements. - Quite a nice café attached to the lobby (Juan Valdez) Cons - Our regular room (queen bed) was not that big. Felt a bit cramped for 2 people, but certainly not a deal breaker. . - Our room was on the ground floor with hardly any light coming thru a small window. - Not enough bulbs in the room, and the dim lighting impacted our moods to a degree. We could not even read a book comfortably. We asked for more lights but I guess they couldn't help us. - No laundry service available. In short, excellent location, safe neighbourhood, cute, neat & 4 helpful establishment, nice wooden decor. We wish we had a "bright" room. Overall, we were quite happy with our stay.

Great Breakfast Cozy cool rooms during the Catagena heat. Only thing is I wish I had a better understanding of Spanish. The front desk staff had limited English language skills and there were a few lingual misunderstandings. I wish also they had better detailed maps of the City with explanations of the locations ( which might be more of a concern of the Cartagena Tourist Board).

Spent 10 days there in June. Not luxury by any means but nice for the price. The pool and jazzuci liner was coming up. It was so hot up on the roof with no shade or cover anywhere until our 8th day when they put up a black cover over the trellis right in front of the ac exhaust which made it worse. When it rained we had water pouring out of the electrical outlets in our room. Staff was great and breakfast was good. Overall a decent hotel for the price but NOT luxury by any means. Be prepared for traffic noise all day and night. Honk, honk, honk, beep, beep beep

Pool is small and the water was dirty. Tv doesn’t work in the room. And the room on the corner was so loud at night we couldn’t fall asleep. We mention our problem to the lobby and they didn’t do anything about it.

I stayed in this hotel for one week with family, we were three 2 adults and a small child, I have to say we had a good time overall, the hotel is located in a central location, we went for a wedding, and it was walking distance from the church and the venue so it worked for us, also close to downtown and plenty places to walk and visit around. I also loved the building, beautiful in and out. pros: terrace in the rooftop with a pool and has the best view of the San Felipe castle, and you catch a beautiful majestic sunrise. We also liked the breakfast and the food attendants were so nice and kind with us. on the first floor they have a Juan Valdez coffee shop and can't get better coffee than that. Everyday Service overall was pretty good. Now the cons: we couldn't get an extra towel at all, we were three people, with a small child, and we got three towels that's it, no more, we asked the receptionist, they told us to ask housekeeping and nada, the only time we took a towel with us to the pool, which the pool didn't have towels neither, they cleaned the room while were out and they only replaced the two towels that were behind in the room, that's it. Now the not so good part and that's why the low star rating, was that as we arrived to our room we noticed that the smoke detector was missing, there was the mount for the smoke detector alarm on the ceiling as usual, but not smoke detector on it, we let the receptionist know, they sent us a technician to our room, and upon checking that there wasn't a smoke detector, they said that they had to taken down because it previously broke down, and then they assured us that they were going to bring a replacement the next day, however we never got the smoke detector, we asked three more times for the seven days we were there, and nothing happened, basically we were ignored, eventually we let it pass, but personally, didn't feel safe after all, can be considered a fire hazard, was disappointing, and probably wouldn't recommend them at all.

Too expensive from my perspective. Not suggested for business purposes. Nice location however they have to improve a lot in their customer experience

THIS IS NOT A GUEST FRIENDLY HOTEL. IF YOU ARE TRYING TO HAVE GUESTS, YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY $120 DOLLARS MORE PER GUEST. AND THERE IS NO EARLY CHECK IN. IF YOU COME EARLY YOULL HAVE TO WAIT TIL 3 PM.

Gorgeous restored building and very good price for the value. Polite and plentiful staff, clean and comfortable rooms, excellent location, and nice hot breakfast. We travel a lot and often find the nicer hotels to be less of a good value but not the case here. More expensive than some nearby but you definitely get what you are paying for. Highly recommended. We traveled here from the US on an overnight flight and were greeted with early check-in, a room perfectly suited for us and our daughter, and a rooftop pool at the perfect temperature for the humid afternoon - a great experience from the start!

Nice hotel for the price. It's located in Getsemaní area, 10 minute walk to old city. Lot of bars an restaurants. It doesn't have beach front. You have to take a cab. Pool is very small and a jacuzzi. Room is small but clean and comfortable. Bed is nice, good A/C, and good water pressure. Breakfast is not a buffet, it's simple but good. Internet works ok.

A small hotel with a clean upscale feel. We enjoyed it a lot. A perfect location close to the heart of the old Town and the fortress.

Nice hotel given the value you get for the price. Walking distance to both great areas ( Getsemaní and Ciudad amurallada), you got pool and jacuzzi. Not so pleasant: very small rooms, and service is kind of poor ( Insisted several times to get new towels, two keys for the room, but they didn't care)

Beautiful hotel, comfortable rooms, close to everything and with a view of the castle. Upstairs balcony and pool were great to relax. The breakfast was simple but delicious.
