Outstanding. Cannot speak more highly of our stay. Every single person on staff was beyond accommodating — especially David, thank you! Service was top notch. I especially loved the design touches throughout the hotel and our room was just as beautiful. We were in one of the 2 bedroom suites and loved it (it was hard to make ourselves leave)! One of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in too. Pool was great, there are bikes available if you want them, but DONT SKIP THE SPA. Had an absolutely fantastic treatment there, such a highlight. Another bonus is that as hotel guests we could always head down to Alma for food (or room service) — delicious! Next time we’re in Cartagena I can promise we will be staying at Casa San Agustin.

I don’t know where to start… I’ve been traveling quite a lot recently and I’ve rarely seen such a great service. From the hot towels and welcome drink when you check in to the room service and the butler service. That was one of my most enjoyable stay ever. I won’t forget to mention that all the staff were smiling and helpful for every situation. I would 100% come back next time.

Honestly the best hotel I've stayed at, anywhere in the world. We came here on our honeymoon and I cannot fault it. The staff were the most attentive and incredible, the food and drinks were all fabulous and the pool area is absolutely beautiful. I haven't stopped thinking about it since we left and I cannot wait to come back.

Average experience for a “higher end” hotel. Made several simple requests that were ignored. I had to ask 5 times to see a folio when leaving. Wait staff seemed annoyed if I asked for anything. Good ambience though.

Ivan and team was great and conveniently located within everything in El Poblado. The house was spacious, light and bright. They had a functioning rooftop and was able to hangout. Ivan was responsive and the owner made great recommendations for restaurants and Luis our tour guide. Would recommend them and return with more people.

Had a terrific 5 nights at CSA. The hotel is one of the finest I have stayed in and the room (102), is worth requesting. Magic. Finest part of the stay was the incredible staff: Paola, Andres, Deynar, everyone else are super kind and helpful. They love Cartagena and are eager to advise guests on all the city has to offer. We did a City tour arranged by the hotel. Manuel was the guide and he brings incredible energy and passion. Great guy, highly recommended. Acasi, the hotel’s beach club is also not to be missed, probably the best fish we had was the fried sea bass at Acasi. CSA is truly a top hotel in the world top to bottom, we will absolutely visit again.

My husband and I just finished our weekend at Casa San Augustine. It was a DREAM. Perfect location to explore the walled city for a few hours and then relax at the pool during the high heat. The staff was spectacular; kind and attentive. The housekeeping, especially turn down service, was flawless (we returned to a beautiful basket of fruit night one!). Many quiet communal areas to rest. Sparkling water everywhere. Breakfast was included for us and was the ideal start to the day - unlimited coffee and delicious food. I wish I kept better attention to names of staff - Felix at the restaurant, Paola at reception amongst a dozen others. Prices at the bar were good compared to American hotels (11 USD for a quality cocktail). While Cartagena was a unique destination with some lows, this hotel was bar none the highlight!

I honestly think this might be my favorite hotel that I have ever stayed at. Hotels are a personal choice and for me casa san Agustin was almost perfect. It was an elegant, small boutique hotel in the center of town. The location within the old city walls was perfect. The service was attentive without being overwhelming. The restaurant was wonderful and the table service was warm and personal without being intrusive. A special word of thanks for the amazing included breakfast which featured the most incredible fruit. The hotel has both indoor and outdoor seating for dining and an amazing bar. This is a hotel best for a romantic occasion, for a couple or an older family rather than a family with small children looking for water slides and hotel activities. It is elegant and beautiful with nooks and crannies for reading a book or sipping a cocktail. I loved our room but I would have preferred more light, it was a little dark. The hotel has a lovely pool, not very big but long and so you can get a good swim. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this hotel. There is a doorman and we felt super safe. There was zero noise at night that could be heard from our room. Casa San Agustin thank you so much for making our vacation perfect!

Wow!!!! I genuinely have no words for how beautiful this hotel is. I stayed here over Thanksgiving of November 2023 and it was just an unbelievable experience from start to finish. I came with my father and we stayed in two separate rooms. Both that were equally stunning. There is so much room in the entire rooms that we were in and the bathrooms were absolutely exquisitely designed. From the moment that we walked into the moment that we left, we were treated with the best service I’ve ever experienced. I cannot say enough amazing things about this hotel do not even hesitate book this hotel NOW. It’s perfect. We also had to spot experiences. I got a 90 minute massage and my father received a 60 minute reflexology appointment. The spa services were incredible and we really enjoyed the experience. Thank you Laura at reception and Luay for the amazing service!! I can’t wait to come back to this hotel. It will be on my mind forever!

Great hotel. Excellent service. They care about every single detail. If you go to the bar ask for the Fizz Del Este cocktail.

Just left the property after staying for a week. I booked with FHR. The hotel is beautiful. The design and focus on Colombian history was gorgeous. I loved walking through it to see all of the art and design elements. What worked: Nice room upgrade and I loved the space. Well designed with a Nespresso maker and water provided. Lots of space to relax and a two tvs. The housekeeping was excellent and the room was well cared for. Turn down service was very welcome. The security and front door was always visible and they welcome everyone on arrival. Each person I met was kind and genuinely engaged in their role at the hotel. Breakfast was plentiful and some choices came off better than others. Dinner at Alma was quite good and I would recommend it. What needs work: Prior to arrival, I sent no less than 10+ emails to book airport pick ups, tours and dinners. All the messages went unanswered. I called. No one picked up. I booked my own dinners. For the activities, I wasn’t successful at getting these booked. The staff promised to follow up. Never did. I did a walking tour one day. Other than that, I did my own thing. I spoke with Paola and with Gladys. For some reason, the feedback didn’t make Ny measurable difference. The spa service was good but the manager kept trying to upswell me. Would I stay again? Probably not. I loved Cartagena!

We had the most amazing stay at Casa San Agustin. We honestly could not recommend it enough. We were in Cartagena on our honeymoon and this was the perfect choice for us. The staff was wonderful from the moment we arrived. The doorman helped us on numerous occasions when we weren't sure where to go (e.g., when we needed to find an ATM, or find somewhere for lunch) and was always so friendly. The staff at breakfast were also amazing - it always started our day off well (plus the breakfast food was DELICIOUS). The spa staff were also lovely, and the Passion for Life spa treatment was such a good choice - relaxing and romantic! The hotel itself was BEAUTIFUL - the way they use the original architecture (and the old aqueduct!) and created luxury rooms and a beautiful pool area meant we felt like we got a full Cartagena experience. The little library room where they had tea and coffee everyday was a really nice touch as well. We also took the opportunity to spend a day at their private beach property Acasi, which was a great way to see the Rosario Islands and get some beach-time in a relaxed and private venue. We highly recommend doing this if you are looking to venture out that way! Lastly, the location of the hotel was perfect - right in the centre of the walled city, among a range of fantastic restaurants - it really was the perfect choice for us.

Everything about this hotel is absolutely lovely and gorgeous. The location is spectacular and the staff is the best I’ve experienced in a very long time. The grounds are perfect and having Alma as the in-house restaurant is an absolute treat. If you want the boutique feel, but with luxury - no questions asked, this is the place to stay.

My boyfriend and I booked a couples massage and it was absolutely incredible! We've both had massages from various places and agreed that this was the best massage we've ever had. The facility was beautiful and immaculate. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Ciaia, Yerenia, and Ludy were amazing and made the morning so special for us. We definitely plan on coming back and hope to be able to stay longer at this hidden gem!

We had a phenomenal time at Casa San Agustin. My wife scratched her cornea (eye) during our travels to Colombia. We were very fortunate to be starting our trip at this hotel. They were very helpful. Locating a doctor for us and providing us a place to stay for the day even when we checked out that day. All the staff were incredibly supportive. First class hotel. Highly recommend.

A truly wonderful hotel. The ambiance is lovely and very peaceful. The staff are incredible - so helpful and kind. Special thank you to Katherine, Andres and Edgar. If you are considering staying here we'd highly recommend it. It lives up to the great reviews. Deep tissue massage in the spa was also wonderful and the setting is very relaxing. I proposed at the hotel and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Highly recommend Casa San Agustin!

We had an excellent stay at Casa San Augustin! The boutique hotel is conveniently located in the old town and the food (breakfast and dinner) at Alma's restaurant was very good. The beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were plush and large. We also really loved the 'house-like' feel of the hotel. The tasteful decor transported us back to the 17th century. Special thanks to Esteban, David, and Jaime for making our stay at Casa San Augustin so memorable. They went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable, had smooth airport transfer, the best reservations in town for restaurants, booked for all activities we wanted to do, and never left the hotel without an umbrella (or a mosquito repellant) lest it rained :). We also really liked the guide they booked for us (Manuel) who made our personal tour of the city and the aviary most entertaining with his stories. Can't wait to be back for another visit!

Great hotel! A colonial architecture with nice modern touches. Very clean and smells nice everywhere. Cordial people provided an excellent service. We had a couples ritual at the spa and definitely recommend it. Alma restaurant at the hotel is one of the best in town and the menu includes a good selection of local food. The included breakfast is delicious! Good for couples or family. We had a romantic escape and definitely will come back.

Truly excellent spa experience, we had a 90 minute gold massage complete with perfect little touches like a cucumber mint ice popsicle to welcome us, foot steaming, and even a soft bed to sleep on after the massage. Thank you so much to Ligia, Ludy, and Maria C

I stayed here for 5 nights and absolutely loved it. The hotel was right in the center of old Cartagena. Excellent insulation when the windows were closed you did not hear any of the nosie from the lively city. The rooms are all updated, well appointed and very clean. The staff is very friendly. The whole staff knew u name and quickly assisted with any request. The front desk help booked and schedule many tours to get a well rounded experience. I recommend the coffee tasting, the tour of Cartagena, and spend the day on their private island in baru. The hotels restaurant Alma is one of the best. The bartenders make creative cocktails and the food is amazing. Very traditional Colombian cuisine. The ceviche in the coconut is so light and fresh.

The restaurant was nothing memorable. The food was decent, it looked better than what it tasted. It didn't really have that authentic Colombian feel to it. The server wasn't really present and when we asked for a glass of water I received a dirty glass with a visible stain on it. Overall, it was just okay.

The hotel rooms are beautiful; there is a pool in the lobby and high tea at 5PM daily. The service is impeccable and I would definitely stay here again. Our best meal in Cartagena was at the hotel restaurant, Alma. The dessert i got there was unlike anything i have ever eaten.

I’m not sure why Google maps has this classified as 4 star but it is definitely 5 star and the best hotel hands down in Cartagena. I work in luxury travel and this is the only hotel I would send high net worth clients to in Cartagena. Service is flawless from when you walk into the front gate to when you check out, front desk staff is exceptionally helpful. The virtuoso room upgrade was amazing to a room with a private plunge pool. The grounds and facilities are impeccably clean and well thought out. The vibes are so peaceful and relaxing and any photographers heaven. Highly highly recommend!

This is an absolute gem of a hotel. The architecture, the service, the amenities, the food is all 5 star level. Paolo especially made our one week stay one of the nicest trips of our life. We had two minor issues with miscommunication and the management team jumped in so quickly and really turned it around. We appreciated all of the attention to detail and dedication to making it nice. A once in a lifetime experience, don’t bother staying anywhere else!

Wonderful hotel. This is a peaceful place in the center of Cartagena where you can get away from the locals who won't leave you alone. The area is filled with locals who try to force tourists to buy junk they don't need, costing 4-5 times more than Bogota, for example. This place is a little haven where you can truly relax. I would not spend more on the junior suite compared to a standard room as the only benefit to paying twice as much for a suite is you get a living room/ kitchenette. No need for that, you likely won't use it. The food is just ok. But I think that's just Colombian food in general- nothing special. That's why it's still 5 stars.

I can't imagine it can get any better then this place in Cartagena! Beautiful, amazing service, great location, and even the restaurant is delicious!

My stay at Casa San Agustin was amazing!! This has to be one of the best hotel stays I've had. The hotel was beautiful. It is a small hotel and felt very cozy. It is centrally located so I was able to walk to most places. The staff and customer service were just fantastic. Upon arriving I was offered a welcome drink that was much needed after thinking I had lost my credit card smh. Since I booked with my AMEX my room was upgraded, again very welcomed bonus. I booked the beach day trip on their private beach which was $615 for two...a little pricey but only because I was traveling solo and expected the price to be half however it's just a set price even if it is only the one person. That was hands down the best part of my trip. I had the boat and island to myself until other guests arrived and then it was just the 5 of us. The Spa is a must do if you are staying at this hotel. I had the most relaxing 3-hour massage. Yesinia and Ligia were great. The restaurant had a good variety of options and again the staff made the experience the best (Renee, Julio, Bernardo). Overall, the hotel was beautiful, clean, and very tranquil but what makes the experience great is the staff and their customer service. My concierge David was always available when I needed assistance and that was true of all the staff. If you stay here you will not be disappointed.

From the moment you check in you are treated like a VIP! Every staff member we encountered was warm, friendly and 100% attentive. Big thank you to Juan, Natalie, Julio & Roberto for taking care of us! The food at Alma restaurant was amazing! I definitely recommend eating there!!
