I think this place is over rated. I would categorize it as follow: -Crime HIGH ⭐️ - cellphone got stolen as soon as we arrived -Water 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ -Vendors- ⭐️ too many and pushy -Infrastructure -100 ⭐️> there is no light at night, the entrance is horrific, as if you were going to get kidnapped, dirty, it looked like a dump. No running water, no electricity, not real good food, very disastrous bus ride. Forget about it. -Plankton water: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ awesome, it’s really cool, only a few places in the world. -Sunset ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ beautiful -sand-beach ⭐️⭐️ too many rocks, don’t believe the pictures you see posting, these is only in a few little spots. -safety feeling ⭐️⭐️ people are nice, but everyone is on top of you, and we got robbed. Stay away, find another beach!

It was the best beach we visited while in Cartagena. It's really busy so be sure to keep and eye on your things. The only bad thing was that we almost got run over by a jet ski on its way back to the beach. The color of the water is pretty and there are a lot of restaurants and tours you can take here.

It's a beautiful beach with plenty of options to order a drink and chill. The amount of sellers coming to you is unbelievable. You can't spend 5 mins without a person selling something to you. I was napping and one lady just started a massage on my feet saying that I don't need to pay it because it was a demonstration. The sellers are very invasive and annoying.....

Very hard thing to describe this experience, so I'll take it step by step. The trip from hotel to the beach was terrible. It took our bus around 2h to get there. You can do it by sea as well but keep in mind that can be a very rough journey and can take up to 1h30min. Once we got there the place was literaly packed with locals that only wanted to sell you something or just steal something from you. While on the beach be sure to book a good place, otherwise you need to stay the whole day watching your stuff instead of enjoying the beach. The water was amaizing but: it was first time in my life when I had seen kids on jetsky and seen them falling from it. While they did that the jet sky did not stoped (they did not had keys loked to hands probably) and just continue until it reached the beach and stoped on the sand. Everything happend so quick that we felt like in a movie. It was just a blessing no one was injured. Later on three dogs started to fight on the beach. Some locals tried to stop the dogs but, this time, we felt like in a zoo. Conclusion: place is higly unsafe, locals are on a constant mood of trying to rob you or to steal you, everything is chaotic, from the moment you enter the parking lot and until you get in the water everything is just completely unsafe . Would strongly advise everyone to not go there. Find turquoise waters somewhere safer.

The beach and the water is beautiful, the services are poor, no water to shower or use bathrooms with. The local vendors are rude and pushy, they would not let us relax until we ran out of cash and then they had a middle man who they used his credit card machine for a commission fee of 50,000 COP. A rip off. Very disappointed with these vendors, I mean you go to a beach to relax not to buy things. If the locals need money then they should charge a blanket fee to cover their salaries. This is illegal in the USA, you simply cannot harass people on public beach. The locals looked kind of sketchy, I was afraid to get kidnapped for a ransom e or something like that.

DO NOT COME HERE ! I hated it here. It’s not relaxing in anyway, vendors coming up to you every minute and not leaving when you say no or ignore them. Ladies offering massages touch you without asking and refuse to leave and stare at you aggressively. The smell of diesel is horrific from the jet skis that are constantly driving up in front of you. It’s such a pity because the water is stunning and so is the white sand. It’s full of flies and malnourished dogs. The food is awful and over priced. The loungers and umbrellas are rotten and expensive for what you get. Counted down the hours until I could get back on the bus to Cartagena.! Avoid, avoid avoid!!!!!

The beach was relaxing yet busy. There were locals offering plenty of water activities ranging from pontoons to jet skis. The food and drinks were refreshing. Be respectful to the vendors and respectfully their offers if you aren't interested and enjoy your time there.

This is NOT a place to relax on the beach. Vendors every 30 seconds bothering you. There is apparently 300 masseurs in the beach. Even when you say no multiple times, they will stop and touch you to give you a free sample. Lots of vendors will try to scam you. If you want to visit, book an island tour where you can visit different beaches and don’t stay here overnight. We stayed for 3 nights and regret it very much. After 7:30 pm, nothing happens. Restaurants and hotels have generators and it make lots of noise. I do NOT recommend this beach.

Beautiful landscape and water, but terrible people. Once you’re on the beach you have to survive one scam after another one, impossible to have peace and relax as many of the tours offer, would not recommend to visit anymore.

Too many vendors and flys. We couldn't walk on the beach because of all the chairs and beds. Way overcrowded for me to completely enjoy.

The Aviario was an incredible place to spend 2/3 hours. Nevertheless, at Playa Blanca you get annoyed by the amount of people selling you anything without any demand from your side. Then, food was really expensive and we felt betrayed when we were requested to pay 15% fee to pay by card as we did not have cash.

Nice beach, but be aware of some locals trying to scam you! We were dropped off by an uber. The uber driver recommended a person to show us the beach, so assuming that we could trust the uber drive we said yes (big mistake). We wanted to find the beach and then do our own thing, but the person wouldn't leave us alone. He wanted us to pay to sit on some lounge chairs. We said no thanks, but he eventually let us sit for free if we bought some drinks. Then, he and his friends continually harassed us. They proceeded to take advantage of us and tried to charge us 425,000 for 3 drinks that cost no more than 75,000 everywhere else. He said it was for the service fee, but we could have easily gotten the drinks ourselves. At this point we realized that it was a scam, which turned into a very awkward and uncomfortable situation. We felt like if we walked away then there would be trouble, so we eventually gave him 150,000 and left. This ruined our whole experience. I didn't feel comfortable going swimming without a friend watching my stuff. Don't go here unless you want to feel like you're about to get robbed constantly.

The jetskis and boat issues most of the reviewers list here are still relevant, but at least now there's a regulator guy that goes around asking how much you've paid so that you don't get absolutely ripped off. Regardless, if you're a foreigner around the Cartagena area, make sure you ask for prices BEFORE receiving.

😈If the devil (el Diablo) had designed a beach, it would be exactly like this. Come if you dare and you’ve been warned THE DEVIL WELCOMES YOU HERE. 😈

Very beautiful but busy beach. Wouldn't recommend if you're trying to relax. Far from Cartagena, a lot of flies, huge crowds of locals, and small boats darting in and out of where you and your family would typically be swimming.

This is not an ideal place to enjoy and relax while on the beach. 1st of all it's hazardous. Boats come and go the shore and beachgoers are at risk of being crushed by boats. 2nd, The place is messy. A lot of dirty beach beds that are compressed together and there's no place for you to lay down on the sand. 3rd, OMG! The bathroom has poor infrastructure! no shower and toilet bowl is so disgusting, so unhygienic and very poor maintenance! And last is overprice! Another tourist trap!

Smells like fuel because of the boats, very hard to swim because of them too, no place to lay down. The water was beautiful but that was about it

We got scammed by one of the Cartagena tourist vendors to come here. We paid extra for a more “private” beach area, which came with a free “drink” and “lunch” with private cabanas… the beach was far from private, the cabanas run down and dirty, full of flies, a shot cup of pina colada as our free drink, free lunch was gross and unappetizing, diseased dogs walking around with sores that was also on one of the small local children :(. It made us feel very uncomfortable. Hosts not friendly and constantly hassled by merchants. Boats and jet skis coming in often to where people are swimming. Water is blue but dirty. We were counting down the minutes until our boat came to get us. And they charge you to use the restroom. Would not recommend to a friend.

Loved the peace in this place. Very touristy place. It is a combination of sandy beaches and hostels. I love how peaceful it was for me. There are tours for different islands from there And you have the chance to see planktons there.

The water is great. Caribbean at its best. Everything else is tragically wrong. The air has the stench of fuel and exhaust from the ever present motor boats and jet skis. These are huge 18 - 30 person boats that use the beach as some sort of commercial dock. The sand is gray, not white. Well, everything from access to food vendors to the constant harassment from vendors of everything u can imagine made this a horrible experience. I wrote more in my Google maps review. But yes, the water was lovely. Just don’t try swimming much lest you find your run over by a jet ski or wrapped around the propellers of one of these cruise boats.

Prepared to be harassed, robbed and mugged. If you refuse to pay the extortionate prices for unhealthy food and dinky plastic chairs prepared to be mobbed. Until the useless corrupt local authorities decide to intervene all Foreign tourists should stay away,

I'll start with what I liked. I liked the food from the restaurant, it was nice once you were finally at the beach part, and there were nice chairs and umbrellas for shade. Now the bad things. The walk down to the beach was terrible, there was so much poverty and vendors, it was a sad and disgusting place. At the beach, there were a lot of vendors, luckily they didn't bother too much. In the water was the worst part. There were so many jet skis and boats, it was dangerous, the water was full of rocks that you can't even see because of the green water and in the water there were multiple crabs. I'll give it 3 stars because if you're careful and that's a big if and if you're patient, you might like it, but if you're like me, you don't like sand, you don't want to find a crab on you, and you don't want you're toenail to be on a 90-degree angle because of one of those rocks, you might not want to go there.

DON'T GO THERE IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL ENOUGH! Be absolutely aware of locals, those people are like piranhas to you, your cell phone, your camera, your kids, your wife, anything you bring there. DO NOT ACCEPT ANY FOOD OR ANYTHING "JUST FOR TESTING", IT WILL BE WORTH THOUSANDS OF EUROS!!! Agree on the prices in advance. Find out about them in the city so you don't get scammed on the beach like for a beer ($2.000 pesos) in the city.

DONT NOT BOTHER COMING .. very dirty beach , we are harassed every 10 mins by people trying to sell you everything from food to sun cream , you have to keep telling them no , music is too loud , boats and jetski keeping pestering the peace by the beach , dirty everywhere on the way down to the beach ., Everything on the bar is over priced and they charge us twice for the umbrellas and sun loungers . The only positive is the colour of the water , but not worth the haste

Boats and jet skis pull into the beach where people are swimming, it's dangerous so watch out for them. It also smells strongly of gasoline. It could be beautiful if there was health and safety and the boats had a peer away from people. The tour boats are full of people with little care for your enjoyment or relaxation, they're very pushy. For older people, take your time getting on the boats and don't listen to them hurrying you as people have fallen and hit their heads badly on seats!

The 1 star reviews are absolutely 100% correct. This beach is your typical third world run down toilet bowl. I suspect those giving this 💩hole high ratings, have nothing else to compare it with.

Beautiful water and coral! A very busy beach, vendor's non-stop, with jetskii, and boats to close to the beach. The beach quality is amazing tho.

The beach is a little crowded and dirty and there are tons of vendors everywhere. However, the water and sand were absolutely amazing. The water is clean, clear, and there are lots of colorful fish to be seen. I don't think I've ever gotten so close to a fish before.
