Stayed for my birthday, upgraded my room because it was dirty and next to a waste water pipe that smelled terrible. During upgrade nobody told me I would upgrade to a room next to major construction the morning after my birthday I was woken up at 7am to power tools and hammers. Terrible. In addition to this the prices are high. The scuba diving instructor is stressed and made my first dive uncomfortable so that maybe I won’t do it again, some other guests said the same that he was rude. There is a man there that defines himself as a guide called Alfredo, he isn’t staff he just hangs out and scams you. He was messaging us weeks after we left begging us for more money. There isn’t any surfing or English speakers there so the website is not accurate with that. Last day of checkout the electricity went and there was no paper backup to pay our huge bill, so we were held capitive on the island for hours whilst we waited for them to solve the issue. The process was painfully slow the same as check in was, the slowest in the world maybe. Only good thing was Catarina who was excellent at working there, I hope she moves on to a better job soon. I will never go back.

If you’re dreaming about staying for few days in paradise, then you better leave that place. There’s a 120db compressor 30 meters from the bedrooms, fans are not working, no water for the showers and zero customer service. Be ready to pay imaginary fees as well all day along. Before I left, I had to shake 3 to 4 times someone to get a coffee because it’s natural for them to kick out customers without the breakfast (normally included and noticed to the manager about our departure the day before) This is just a small sum up of my 2 days at La Playita.

One of the best hostels I have visited. Greta pricing, clean rooms, bathroom. Beaches. Food is great menu is great. Drinks and night life is fun. Has its own beach. People here are very kind. Worth the stay. Sunset and sunrise views are tremendously Overwhelming.

Lots of construction, loud employees early in the morning. Bedrooms have no lock on the doors, very disappointing, THIS PLACE IS ONLY FOR A MUSIC FESTIVAL, this is not a relaxing hotel. Worst place I could pick for Christmas vacation, the island has so many better places. We ended up leaving a day early it was so miserable. This place looked like Iraq/Afganistán

We stayed here unknowingly during construction season. There was work from 8am-2am or later, the entire day. The workers were told to go all night, cutting metal, hammering walls. Craziness. Thanks for the warning... This is a party hostel with loud music playing until 12am on weekdays and 2am on weekends. The rooms are all close to the bar, so dont expect to relax. We had almost no running water in our room, when it rained, it rained on through the roof and onto our bed, there was nowhere to put your clothes, so the hanging clothes outside were soaked overnight. Also you cant lock your rooms. The staff were half blasé and half nice with a forced smile, except for Camilla who was genuinely nice and helpful. If you want to party on a Carribean island and dont mind about comfort or relaxation then you could enjoy this place. The food is really good and the prices for drinks and food are very reasonable.

Gorgeous island with lovely people and a relaxing stay. The rooms are comfortable and activities are fun. Bathroom water is sometimes low, and internet is unavailable in some rooms. Food is SLOW and sometimes it takes a bit of insistence to get served.

We didn't stay here, but seeing some of the reviews for the bar and restaurant I thought I'd take the time to leave a review. I would recommend this place for a meal and some drinks. We used it twice during our stay on the island. Spacious with good seating and view. Nice music at a good level so you can still hear the waves. Service was instant on both occasions with someone coming over smiling and helpful as soon as we sat down. Service was quick, cocktails well made, and the food was excellent. Simple, well done food with generous portions. We had a great visit on both occasions watching the stars come out. Would recommend as a nice place to enjoy some good music, eat and drink well, and get good service. Do keep in mind if you are not charging to a room, the food and bar bill come separately.

Great hostel on a still not touristic island! You will get the chance to get in touch with the locals and be close to the sea. Sometimes we felt that there were maybe too many locals on the site and we felt a little exposed.. staff is lovely and will help you with everything! The food was good, huge portions, great veggie options!

If you want to relax, and have a chill time, learn champeta, play volleyball and dive La playita Is the place to be. Rooms are comfortable but not luxury. The whole experience is more for relaxing personalities If you are looking for only dive experience I suggest going between April and Jun. Over all the food is nice, though garlic is used too much and food is highly condimented, if you don't like it make sure you ask to take it away. The hotel has a small beach ⛱️, really nice when nice weather, but you can walk to cebolleta for a more private experience, or San Diego for moore public but really lovely waters. Make sure to drink only filtered water and bring your medical kit with a variety of medicine you may need. Sometimes there are viruses on the island. La playita is a great place to forget about everything and take time to yourself!

It took me a little while but I wanted to review this hostel/hotel. Our stay was like in paradise. There was always super good food, the rooms are a dream and the staff was always very friendly - even if you sometimes had to communicate with hands and feet (but for this there is no point deduction at all, but is rather still sympathetic). Although the island is not too big, there is for it nevertheless the one or other activity. Hiking, diving, canoeing, etc. - make the everyday life then also still varied. We will definitely come back and are already looking forward to it!

One only thing : there's a lady Luisa at the recepcion. She gives a but of a attitude and denies acces to wifi when she wants saying there's no service. We knew she was lying cause other people had acces to it.

The opposite of a place to relax. Construction work from early in the morning till late in afternoon making it impossible to enjoy this place. It’s full of employees who hang around and start yelling around 7 AM. Horrible customer service and in my opinion it’s rude to keep that hostal open during their construction work . DO NOT BOOK FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS

Hi guys. Anyone who have visited here let me know if it is better to pay for meals included at the hotel or better just breakfast Ănstalas than getting food in other places near by ? Thanks .

Managed to spend the day here. And catch the world cup final the energy was amazing and the staff were great, even though they were so busy

the place is nice and everything, locals are amazing but be carefull there is a thief very well protected by the owner, how come my phone was stolen and we recognized the thief that wasnt even a local, i think is some sort of instructor, but horrible experience we spend a ton of money over there, we were nice to everyone and we fell sleep at the balcony in the second floor and in 2 seconds my phone was gone, before this guy kept walking around us but i was naive, didnt know this could happened on a so safe place, long story short my girlfriend and i we both recongize the guy and the owner and all other employees from the place were protecting the guy like if we were liers but im gonna keep going with the reviews, i think the place is little oveRATED, the owner wont care if something got stolen from you on the place, he just want to cash out to bad, he should go back to ausie
